Anyone else not seeing their ETH when going to trade on CBP? The bottom corner says "partial system outage," I don't know what that means...

Depends on if you’re going to keep it on CB/CBP or want to move it elsewhere. I’m currently debating whether to switch from XLM to AMP myself. AMP’s also had a VERY rough month or so, so it may have more room to grow? IDK.

I'm on Halifax to odor my current account but never had issues with them blocking. I used to bank transfer on Binance until they stopped accepting bank deposits. I haven't ever used credit/debit card purchasing because of the fees, maybe that's our difference. Now I deposit direct to CBP & Kraken and still had no probs with Halifax.

I haven't used Kraken. I started on CBP and got onto BinanceUS for the same reasons... more coin options. Then I got CDC, and now on Gemini for staking. I personally have had almost no problems with BinanceUS. I have a small local hometown credit union so getting deposits set up took the long method instead of the direct linking. But that's more on my end than theirs.

So I am actually building a bot. I got my data pipeline set for CBP as well as historical data ripping, but newer listings like DOGE are missing a good chunk of historical data. I was gonna supplement that data with data from binance, then I wondered if it was better to use binance all together. My bot can take advantage of lower trading fees. But say I make $1M. I can’t really do anything with it on binance besides exchange with crypto without paying a fat fee right? At the end of the day for me it just comes down to data source and cost, still trying to figure this out.

Great advice, thanks :) Yes I just tried and I could instantly log into CBP without setting up a new account and transfer a bit of GBP from CB to CBP instantly without fees. The fees on CBP are so much cheaper than CB but, as you say, the list of coins is a bit limited so I might just buy what I can on CBP and then use CB for coins I can't buy cheaper elsewhere :)

> can you actually spend the crypto on Binance If by “spend” you mean use the crypto to buy other crypto, then yes. That’s what exchanges do. If you mean can you use the crypto that’s ON Binance to buy coffee, or pizza, or a porn site membership, well, no. > im trying to see if it is in my best interest to use it over CBP Bottom line, it’s not about choosing the best exchange for you and using it exclusively. You will be using several. You just need to understand their idiosyncrasies and choose the right one for the moment.

I was thinking the same thing earlier, it’s insane that shib is over all these seemingly great projects and that has made me reevaluate my portfolio and “long term” holdings. I put some of the free crypto I earned on coinbase into shib and transferred it to my CBP and it went from $12>$65 in a few days. Now I’m swing trading shib for fun 😂. What is going on

I kinda just have them all. As an all around exchange, if you were going to have just one exchange, CBP is not a bad one to go with because of the wide range of coins, acceptable fees, and some free shit now and then isn't the worst thing (6 months on CB I'm at $56 in free earn.) Otherwise both Gemini and cb have their own pros and cons.iirc, you'll get better staking rewards with Gemini.

I take profits on Binance because I can get the low trading fees and not worry about withdrawal fees (assuming I take profits in fiat). Here's a simplified example of what I do: * Over 12 weeks, DCA $100 of coin ABC on Coinbase Pro. Trading fees (0.5%): $6 * Every 4 weeks, withdraw to another wallet (e.g. defi, staking, cefi lending). Let's assume each withdrawal on CBP cost me $3: $12 total (3 withdrawals) * Some time passes, value of my ABC coins is now $2000 * Deposit $2000 of ABC to Binance: $3 transaction fee * Sell ABC on Binance for $2k. Trading fee (0.085%): $1.70 Total fees paid: $22.70 If I had done the same thing on Binance (including withdrawing every 4 weeks) I would have likely paid $30-$60 in withdrawal fees. Now, I could avoid those fees, obviously, by keeping my coins on their platform... but I'd prefer not to hold much on my Binance account and I want to have my coins be productive in defi/staking while I am holding them.

If you're worried about it rising, why not go that route and buy 35k worth today and the rest either in 24hr or on a different exchange once you find an option? Also mandatory "don't tell people how much crypto you have bc you will instantly be hacked or struck by lightning" response

This is true, I'll give you that, withdrawal from Coinbase has been by far, the cheapest I've seen. In fact, what withdrawal fees do they have? There are a bunch of shitcoins with low Binance withdrawal fees. They change from week to week. XLM used to be cheapest. More recently FIL. Use https://withdrawalfees.com/exchanges/binance (or https://withdrawalfees.com/exchanges/binanceus if you're American). Coinbase Pro only supports a few shitcoins, so you have to pick one which is supported at CBP and has a tiny withdrawal fee on Binance. Or save time, just pay $0.25 to use LTC

I love crypto.com. Lots of coins not on CB, decent rewards (lockup sucks but oh well...), easy too use even for the technically-challenged like me. Agreed. One suggestion, which is the next closest thing in regards to security for CBP. Set up 2FA and store the secret on a Yubikey. Then your 2FA secret is in cold storage. If you’re not familiar with that functionality- basically every time you need a 6 digit 2FA code you need to NFC/Lightening connect the Yubikey and open Yubikey Authenticator. It will then pull the secret into Yubikey Authenticator and provide 1 code. It’s safer that Google Authenticator but obviously not as good as using Fido U2F or Fido2.

Takes anywhere between 4 and 7 days after depositing funds. The number of days might depend on if that spans a weekend and/or holiday. It will take a bit longer when you initially create an account to get your identity and bank account verified. Reasons I like Coinbase Pro: * ACH deposits are free * USD is FDIC-insured * Can exchange USD directly for BTC (going through a stablecoin not required), and I find 0.5% to be reasonable * Withdrawal fees can be very low if you are patient * Basic security with 2FA and address whitelisting Major downside is that they allegedly have terrible customer service. But with 2FA enabled, address whitelisting, and withdrawing to cold storage (not keeping a lot on the exchange), I think that chances are low that I will ever have to deal with getting help from their non-existent customer service. A small downside is that their withdrawal fees cannot be changed, and they vary depending on network demand. I've had as low as 74 sats (a fraction of a cent). If I'm not in a hurry and it's higher than \~400 sats I just check again later. I'm interesting in trying Gemini ActiveTrader because of the lower trading fee (for limit orders) and 10 free withdrawals per month, but they are requiring me to do wire transfers, which costs me $6 each time from my bank. For DCA I'll stick with CBP's free ACH deposits. I can't find any info from Gemini about how to get approved for ACH deposits.

If I need to spend other crypto I sell the crypto on Coinbase pro for a WAAY smaller fee. I have yet to pay over .10 on cbp on a single transaction . Then transfer back and purchase usdc. Another cool thing about usdc you can swap it back to usd for no fee. I have probably spent over $700 in various coins after selling then buying usd. Probably just recently went over. Always deposit your usd on CB though, you'll be hit with not being able to transfer it back if you start on CBP.

I have a few USD laying around on CBP, not sure what I should buy with it.

The fees. CBP is a lot cheaper to trade.

It’s all good, lesson learned lol. I only trust CBP, Kraken, and kucoin now.

That’s helpful, thank you. I’m eyeing DDX right now for a few reasons: small market cap, low circulation, and it’s been beaten down hard since it began trading on CBP on August 31st. It looks like the sell offs are becoming less and less severe and almost looks to be settling (see photo in link).[DDX chart](https://imgur.com/a/6WvtwSm)

Understandable. I am using CBP for most of my trading because of a large deposit I made in the past.

It's not an upgrade! You should be using both! CB for staking rewards, quiz rewards, free asset conversion and CBP for trading. Transferring between the two is free so there is no reason not to use both at the same time.

After the CBP SHIB fiasco I believe Coinbase should be looked at too Either whales not affiliated with Coinbase or insider trading knocked a zero off for like 6 hours before it corrected instantly

Thoughts on Crypto.com for US customer? How are the rates compared to CBP? I see crypto.com has recurring purchas option which is sorely needed on CBP so I'm thinking to switch over.

Coinbase wants the transaction fees. They know people will throw a few bucks into it and they get their 0.99-1.99(obviously you can buy through CBP for a lower fee but that’s not where they make their money).

Buy a hardware wallet; Ledger or Tezor. Buy off a respectable exchange like Coinbase pro. Transfer from CBP to an address you create with your hardware wallet.

When inbound transfers open on CBP, only the web version supports it right away. There are no tokens that are available on CB but not CBP. CBP always gets tokens a full day ahead of CB. If you want to get into new token drops on CBP, use the web app.

I'm not sure why Kraken makes it so hard to find its Pro trading platform. It's not advertised anywhere on their main page, possibly because it's still new. Kraken actually has 2 platforms. The normal platform is a bit expensive, but Kraken Pro actually has better rates than Binance US Pro, CBP, and Gemini ActiveTrader when [I tested it](https://np.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrencies/comments/pglcwx/i_compared_how_many_coins_you_can_buy_on_10/).

I haven't really used kraken extensively but can say that it is a large and trusted exchange that's been around for a while. I found their interface nice and simple to use. If you're US based you will have to deposit money via wire transfer which will cost a fee. I believe non-us residents can ACH I use coinbase pro for DCA and kucoin for trading. Coinbase pro and kraken both are pretty cheap, kraken is cheaper. I like coinbase pro's interface. In some ways i think it is not as good as kraken's as it doesn't let you have favorite pairs. However i use CBP because it allows ACH transfer and no withdrawal fee. Kucoin has a lot of obscure pairs. The interface is very nice and it has lots of options like staking, margin spot trading, futures, trading bots, etc, etc. It's a bit harder to learn but once you understand it you'll like it. Withdrawal fees are a bit high. Trading fees are about the same as kraken. They also have a native token (KCS), if you hold 6+ KCS you participate in a fee return program that pays back a portion of you your fees, making trades almost free, especially if you choose to pay trading fees with KCS
