If you willingly install malware on your computer, having your funds in a cold wallet isn't going to help you. If anyone ever randomly dms and "tries to network with me" and hands me a line like *"So install our soft on ur main pc so you don't lose access to it, restoring access is very difficult..."*, red flags should be flaming across your screen, sirens should be wailing in your head. Like you said, there were so many basic opsec failures that people just ignore. Any Crypto DMS, off. Any "networking" on telegram, discord, linkedin, twitter, off, off, off. Installing ANY sort of files or remoting in your computer? NEVER, EVER. One guy I know literally got phished a couple days ago trying to "buy mrbeastcoin" from a link on a random FAKE twitter account (come on, man) and even signed the request on his wallet - Transfer control of my wallet to you! Who cares what I'm signing, just do it, I love Mr. Beast! When you're playing with Crypto you're playing for keeps. There's a reason everyone is fucking paranoid in the space.
Ignore DMS, I've just used funds on chain. Was using binance but idk if you can still use it. Which ever you choose you may have to turn GBP into euro using revolut or similar to transfer cash onto an exchange. Or you could buy in revolut, etoro etc but idk if you can transfer out. You don't really connect mm to an exchange you use your address in mm to transfer off the exchange, just make sure address is correct and on the right network and send a small amount first. You can use mm to connect to Dex like uni/pancake swap but you need funds on mm, moonpay work on trust wallet idk if mm has something similar but % is high.
Your account is pointless if you have no money in it. Delete everything to do with it and if you have spare cash to throw away, start fresh with NO RANDOM DMS OFFERING TO HELP . You got scammed as fuck and can assume that any info you used is compromised. Delete everything, start again. Or better off, read a book about btc and watch 100 hours of videos about how to do it all yourself. Then start again. If not, send your next 500 bucks to me instead and I'll at least tell you you're a good boy when I make your money vanish for ever.

Let me try to help: 1) you don’t have to buy two wallets. You can buy one, get the address of that and recover from another one and send to that address. 2) when you get the new wallet just click at the”recover”. You will enter the words and your tokens are back. Just remember to create the accounts or they will now show (they will be there but you won’t be able to see it) 3) don’t answer DMS here 4) never store your seed at a laptop again 5) There is no risk in recovering your seed IF you buy a new wallet. Don’t use online tools to recover it. Input them at the new wallet.

If that is true you should be able to send it to any exchange and sell it. But if not or you are unsure what you are doing (which you are based on your question) than take your time before making a mistake. If you know nothing about crypto, you have to choose the safest one Bitcoin. Don't be scared by its price tag just accumulate satoshis! I know it can be appealing to invest in a shit coin with a price tag of 0.000001$ that claims to be the next 1000x trust me is not. Later on, when you have passed the beginners stage you can look to invest in allt coins which is everything else besides bitcoin and they are way more risky. Bitcoin can preserve your wealth and add to it with minimal risk compared to the rest of the crypto market. Btw no company or crypto wallet provided is ever going to contact you first! You will get DMS from people claiming to know the next Bitcoin is all a scam don't reply to anything. Never give out your seed phrase to your wallets to anyone that's like your password but no one will help you if you lose it or someone steals it from you it can end up with you losing everything. Sorry for your loss. If you want the money from it, sell on a reputable exchange, or like others have said use cashapp/paypal If you want the Bitcoin, transfer it to your own personal wallet which you can buy/create for yourself. Oh yeah and don't reply to DMS, likely scammers.

Same applies for crypto.* Saying something as dumb and condescending as this really sets a proper tone for your post. - Learn the basics: Before losing your karma on r/cc, make sure you understand the fundamentals. Learn what DCA stands for and why it's clearly an infinite money glitch completely full proof. If a "gorgeous" girl slide in your DMS claiming she is into crypto and wants to chat, don't simp over it. Just keep calm and DCA. She wants your Moons, not your Karma. **CONCLUSION** Crypto is *of course* the future and there is no way we all won’t get rich from the stuff. First of all: DO NOT ANSWER ANY DMS Now thats out the way, I would highly recommend moving those bitcoins to a self-custody hardware wallet for cold storage, then forget about it for another 7 years just like you've done til now. Look into Coldcard, Blockstream Jade, or Bitbox02. Also, congrats :) You hold a piece of the hardest asset humanity has ever created, the equivalent of owning a piece of manhattan real estate in cyberspace. the potential is endless I would not sell it.

I don't see them enforcing ICCP between BESS companies and the ISOs. It sounds like you’re using a “hot” wallet (software wallet). You’ll definitely want to ditch that fast, like yesterday. A software wallet isn’t very safe, especially for large amounts of coin because it’s connected to the internet. Get a hardware wallet. Your keys are stored in the device not your laptop, and the device never connects to the internet. I use Ledger and haven’t had any problems. However, there’s been ongoing controversy with Ledger as of late, and many people are avoiding them now. IF THE HARDWARE WALLET YOU PURCHASE COMES WITH SEED WORDS ALREADY WRITTEN DOWN, DO NOT USE IT. Store your seed words on a piece of paper or steel in a safe place that only you have access to. Keeping them in a fire/flood proof box is always a good idea. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TYPE OR ENTER YOUR SEED WORDS INTO YOUR COMPUTER OR PHONE. NO LEGITIMATE PROVIDER SUCH AS COINBASE OR LEDGER WILL EVER ASK FOR YOUR SEED WORDS. DON’T TAKE A PICTURE OF THE PAPER YOUR SEED IS WRITTEN ON. NEVER TELL ANYONE WHERE YOUR SEED WORDS ARE STORED. NEVER EVEN MENTION THAT YOU OWN A HARDWARE WALLET OR HOW MUCH BTC YOU HAVE. First: close your DMS asap. Now, few tasks (be free to ask for anything here. You re between freens, but as second rule: never share your seed, follow a pump and dump, or trust no one shilling stuff. - decide if you want to DCA in BTC/Eth mostly, and for long (aka, how much at month). You ll have time to learn and degen in Alts. - recommendation, check the coinbureau videos about wallets. To buy a ledger nano s+ is always a good idea. - use only trust worthy exchanges (kraken, binance, coinbase). Deposit, buy, withdraw to your ledger with a test TRX first. - if you feel that you are going to fomo that bag of fiat, punch yourself in the face. First be sure that your emergency bag is ready, and you aren't going to miss the amount invested. Even better if you think it as lost money forever.

I sent her a few ETH and she'll swap it for me in a moment. She said the network is very congested right now so it may take a minute.

Its a scam, do not even try to act on it, instagram is full of bots DMING people asking for promos, deals or "post this on so and so account" I own a FIFA card printing website, and every single post we make, we get DMS from these BOTS saying "you can sell these art at [WESCAMPEOPLE.IO](https://WESCAMPEOPLE.IO)"etc... Just completely ignore.
Always be wary of the DMS, and treat everything like an assignment, DYOR. Stay away from leverage trading, newly listed shitcoins on exchanges as they already pumped like crazy, and be extra careful with staking if you're a beginner. Oh and do have a cold storage and write all your seed phrases on a hard paper for your exchanges.

Thanks. I tried to import account in MM and it says enter private key not the seed phrase. Both in my browser extension and mobile wallet. I can't find any other option other than create new account otherwise. NOTE NO DMS from scammer i'll report and block.
Do Your Own Research (DYOR), CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are both very useful apps for this. Only use money you can afford to lose and please stay away from leveraging. Never tell on reddit what you own in crypto (only mention percentages instead of exact numbers), otherwise you will receive a lot of DMS from 'helpful' people

I, too, love the book The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous... there're some other books as well, such as The Internet of Money, and a cute book called 21 Things I Learned From the Bitcoin Rabbithole (or something like that... can't remember exact title). But, it sounds like you're looking more for ways to onboard into BTC.... well, there are many exchanges etc but in my opinion Swan Bitcoin is the simplest and most straightforward. Never send money for other people to invest for you (you already learned that one the hard way) Never click links in an email, if an exchange contacts you through mail, go there yourself without clicking the link in the mail and see what's up!
