Maxers can be a tough one to be at as you stand out. But if someone DV like you have described, I have a feeling that these DV will have much less effect. So in your comment list page KM might have reduced from 5 to 2 but if you go to the post page, it has a different KM points on it and also whether that is reflected in ccmoons KM estimator.
Yup, I guess they organized groups in the aforementioned platforms and would UV each other constantly, probably DV other people and help get one of their posts to the top of hot posts. I have a serious question that I am a little embarrassed to ask: When you post a comment, you have an automatic 1+. Does this contribute to karma or do you have to get an actual UV from someone else? In another words, if you comment something and did not get either UV or DV, do you earn any karma and thus MOONs?

I'm pleased to see you seeing the other side and recognising that the bigger issue is off topic comments rather than every single person in the daily (although personally if someone says "have a nice day" it's not going to outrage me that they earn Moons. Good for them I say. But at least that's a reasonable point for discussion, as opposed to attacking the daily as a whole). If there's vote manipulation then that needs to be dealt with, but just because people are earning high karma in the daily, that doesn't always mean something nefarious. The subs I'm most involved in have a great community where we support each other without any reward for doing so, and if anything such behaviour should be encouraged more here. The hypocrisy I see from some of the biggest moon farmers in this sub complaining about the daily is worse to me than all the DVing we've seen down the years. Many of these users are people who only comment here because of moons, and make it their goal to get as much karma as possible every month. It's obvious the reason they care so much is because they want a better ratio for themselves and it upsets them that others have found a way of earning moons in this sub that's different from their way. Not content with the incredible fact that they've been able to earn a significant amount of money from shitposting on Reddit, they want to take away the earning potential of others so they can have MORE for themselves. How about being grateful for what you've got and be happy for others who are also able to benefit from this and contribute to making this sub a positive place to hang out and discuss crypto, whether that's serious discussion or just posting for fun, because at the end of the day this is Reddit. "Yeah well the daily can still chat, they just don't get Moons for it." Ok great. Why not just take away Moons altogether then? We can all still post and comment, we don't need Moons for that. Instead of coming together, supporting each other, and having fun, some users are just looking out for themselves. From 2017 on the bch community rabidly hated on Litecoin and charlie because while big blockers were fighting it out and lying about segwit (claiming value kept in a segwit address could be stolen, making people afraid to adopt it), litecoin adopted segwit, charlie put $1 million in a segwit address and dared big blockers to steal it. But it was ingrained in people to leave litecoin off the title. Even if you weren't a litecoiner, and had a story on say, paypal adopting crypto, you knew your story wouldn't go up if you listed litecoin as one of the first adopted. So people left it off and one of the headlines without litecoin would rise to the top. I lived this for years. Some will write it off as complaining, I'm not actually worked up about it, but to understand the problem, you have to understand the context that created it, people who wanted engagement on their topics were conditioned to not say the L word for years. That's very accurate on the base definition. In all the applications i have used for bug/defect management after development we only had defects wether it was actually a bug or not. In production we have incidents, problems, changes and other nomenclatures but defects only happen after a test team actually tested. Not sure if this is due to the applications I have used so far or because test teams only test in QA/Test environment so we never get to have "defects" in DV.
Market cap means nothing except last traded price times outstanding quantity. Liquidity of the asset in question is critical to understanding the value of the asset—I am sure you know this. The point to be made is the value of any asset, bitcoin in this case, relies upon the value put into the ecosystem, and how that value flows between holders of bitcoin. If you want the value to increase you need to add value either intrinsically or extrinsically. Buying and “HODL” doesn’t improve anything if you expect to reconvert into fiat for a profit in the future, as you are hoping others enter at a later date than yourself. Price of bitcoin falls because more bitcoin is sold than is bought, the definition of value leaving the system. I am not talking about market cap or the DV01; the bitcoin environment is too illiquid for that.
The thing I don’t see in this (very good) analysis that should scare the crap out of everyone is a mention of the terms DV01 or ALM DV01 mismatch. DV01 is the sensitivity of a financial asset to a 1 basis point (1/100 * 1%) increase in interest rates. ALM DV01 mismatch is how different the DV01 of a portfolio of liabilities and the DV01 of a backing pool of assets is (Ideally DV01 of assets = - DV01 of liabilities and the ALM net DV01 = 0). In Tethers case the DV01 of its liabilities is 0 (a dollar is a dollar no matter how high interest rates go), but the DV01 of its backing assets is NOT 0. The issue is that since interest rates have risen significantly since it added most of the backing capital, there is a decent chance a lot of those assets it holds are worth significantly less than when it first bought them, so even if Tether could liquidate everything is has with minimal market impact (unlikely given current state of market liquidity) it still may simply be undercollateralized at this point due to the recent move in interest rates.

1. Your 1st and 2nd paragraphs strike at the heart of a dilemma regarding how cheap should we make validators. ETH is already working on distributed validator (DV) clients that allow users to run their own light clients without the needed 32 ETH. I prefer this solution to making the cost of spinning up a *full* validator dirt cheap because cheap *full* validators are easier for the wealthy to gobble up and amass 51% control. DV clients keep the cost of a full validator high enough to prevent easy takeover, but allow any user to run their own light client to bypass the need for centralized API providers like Alchemy and Infura. I personally like to see what people think, it sometimes is helpful to read the direction of a conversation, tone is hard to convey through text.
