I've been a member essentially since launch, I also used my LinksDAO NFT's to vote yes to the DAO vote that approved this. This article doesn't do a great job of explaining what LinksDAO is, so I'll give a rundown. It's golf community that is organized under the framework of a DAO and membership is gated by an NFT. The ultimate goal of the community was to collectively purchase and operate a golf course but Links has also accomplished: * Raising $40,000 for Steph and Ayesha Curry Eat.Learn.Play charity (did I mention Steph Curry and his brother Seth Curry are both members?) * Partnered with many golf brands to offer discounts to members, such as Calloway Golf, TopGolf, FiveIron Golf, ShipSticks, Bridgestone Golf, IMG Prestige, among others. * [A member to member reciprocity program](https://medium.com/linksdao/links-launches-member-to-member-golf-reciprocity-platform-ecb10f79a288) * [Expanded access for members to 450 golf courses that were added to the Links Play Network](https://medium.com/linksdao/links-adds-450-golf-and-social-clubs-to-membership-benefits-6fa0ae134c53) * Member pro-shop, events, and outings * Name a top 10 most innovative web3 company by Fast Company It's emblematic of what NFT/DAO's *should* be used for, but unfortunately it's antithetical to the majority of the current speculation-based NFT market.

Bitcoin current Nakamoto Coefficient is 2, as shown in the IMG shared in the post. As Foundry USA has 30.0% of the current hashrate and AntPool has 22.1%. Here the source: [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FkgJqzKWQAIkY9c?format=jpg&name=large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FkgJqzKWQAIkY9c?format=jpg&name=large) [https://btc.com/stats/pool](https://btc.com/stats/pool) Which may change with time, but still... PoW works with hashrate. Nodes follow (by the protocol) the chain with most WORK attached to it, and work is measured through the hashrate. Your response is a STRAWMAN, and debunks nothing.

The Swiss non-profit behind the NEAR Protocol is to collaborate with Caerus Ventures in launching a $100 million venture capital (VC) fund and venture lab. The NEAR Foundation said it would cornerstone the VC Fund, with an initial closing of $50 million and a target of $100 million for seed to series A investments. The proposed venture lab intends to attract the leading engineers, developers, and venture builders in the Web3 space, and will also offer cross-functional support to portfolio projects. The development comes on the heels of Swiss investment firm 21.co raising $25 million in its latest funding round last week, putting its valuation at $2 billion. What is the NEAR Protocol? Founded by Alexander Skidanov and Illia Polosukhin, the NEAR Protocol is a scalable blockchain with a globally distributed community that consists of 550,000 members and a total of 18 million accounts created. “Our cultural passions for live sport, film or music have historically been leveraged to on-ramp billions of consumers to new technologies,” said Marieke Flament, CEO of the NEAR Foundation. “The creators, talent, and franchises with reach and influence spearheaded that growth and will now drive the adoption of blockchain at scale,” she added. “But this time, they and their fans will have greater access to the value created.” NEAR has received funding from some top VCs including a16z, Pantera Capital, Electric Capital, Dragonfly Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Blockchain.com, and Baidu Ventures. Meanwhile, the second annual NEARCON convention, considered the flagship event of the NEAR Protocol, is currently being held in Lisbon, from which its native token has seen a significant jump in price. Caerus puts content creators first Caerus was founded by IMG/Endeavor talent executive Nathan Pillai, who said it would back projects that put creators, talent, IP owners, at the center of new enterprises. “We’re creating this partnership to help revolutionize the existing multi-layered entertainment ecosystems, growing the market size while promoting greater equity,” Pillai said. As many “use cases for how Web3 technologies will change how culture is experienced, entertainment is consumed, and value is distributed,” Pillai said Caerus hopes “to be a catalyst for innovation” for projects in sport, music, film, TV, fashion, art and gaming.

An RPC basically translates your transaction to something the blockchain/dApps understand and can use. The hijacked RPCs now give you a scam message instead of doing their job. When you configure a network on e.g. Metamask, you have to enter a few details like network id and url [in this dialog](https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/360083317412/IMG_E8F132CD40A6-1.jpeg). You can read more about RPCs [here](https://medium.com/ankr-network/why-are-rpcs-so-important-in-blockchain-development-5-use-cases-60a16a02c143).

You’re still stuck on the JPEG aspect and aren’t willing to overlook it. You just belittled the benefits I listed because you just can’t look past the image aspect. You can literally go on etherscan and see the NFTs in peoples wallets. People seriously seem to forget that NFT stands for Non-fungible TOKEN nowhere in that does it say JPG or IMG or JPEG. It’s simply a representation of said token, no more. What makes it worth anything is the fact that it either belongs to exclusive club or is offering benefits that people want in on. The rarity of the tokens are determined by the traits therefore go for more but they all get the same benefits. It’s ironic that you carry yourself thinking you’re in the right when this post suggests that people in this sub are overlooking NFTs the same way the rest of the world is overlooking crypto currently. Are the images silly and stupid looking? Yes they are but think back on how Bitcoin first started being used. One of the biggest stories in crypto history is the Bitcoin pizza. You have to crawl before you walk. Keep denying new sections of crypto and soon you’ll be looked at like how this sub views munger and buffet lol. This is literally just the beginning.

I can't offer any insight as to the IMFs position. This is just a guess, but I presume, the IMG sees BitCoin as a temporally localized asset that does not match the criteria of being a commodity, i.e. it has know usefulness function, and only has desirability so there for is highly apt for manipulation and borrowing against a currency based on it would be like... borrowing against a comic book collection containing nothing but Black Cat first appearances and not knowing if her movie is going to be great ... or awful.

Is it? Sure, if your file is called private\_keys\_for\_my\_100000\_bitcoin.txt, then yeah. But if it's encrypted, and you name it IMG\_20220210\_163302536.MP.jpg and put it in with the rest of your photos, who's going to find it. If you want, go the extra mile and base64 the encrypted data stick it into the metadata of one of your legit photos. And those are the 1 minute obfuscation techniques. There are even more techniques that require a tiny bit more effort that will effectively make it impossible to find, unless someone knew exactly where to look for it, and then they'd still have to crack the encryption.

Everything is political but not necessary right or left. Cryptos are political because massive new regulation and taxation is necessary for all governments to get control of the crypto markets and stop fraud, tax evasion, capital flight, money laundering, criminal activities and targeting of kids by dishonest promoters. As such, all government from Putin to the the most liberal are diligently planning some kind of coordinated global response to cryptos. If you read between the lines of statements by the IMG, central bankers, money center bankers, Wall St leaders, congress, the White House and even Putin and the Chinese, you clearly see what is coming. Various countries may differ in their regulatory approaches, but since there are over 15,000 cryptos, the vast majority pure flim flam junk, and all of them highly speculative an cloaked in secrecy about who owns what and how much, expect massive regulation within the next 1-3 weeks. The IMF warning to El Salvador was a friendly way of putting a gun to the poor nation's head. They are warning ES to be aware that Bitcoin prices may continue down, and to choose between Bitcoin and a credit line because too much Bitcoin might ruin whatever paltry credit rating they have. Also, Apple just took down Jack Dorsey and Block with a new iPhone feature which makes Block useless. The Cathi Woods Ark and Robinhood trader world has been devastated and they might all have to go out of business. Many crypto firms, especially those paying interest, may be finished and all those schemes and giving up your citizenship and moving to a tax haven with your cryptos are defunct. Simply put, the long winter of cryptos and all bubble stocks from 2021 is only halfway finished. So I would sell everything in these spaces and just wait for the new bottoms to be put in, including TSLA which should be valued about the same as Toyota which would mean another 60% fall. And do not be tempted to buy the dips in 2022. Wait for the rock bottom if you want to be in these spaces, or just liquidate and put it all in AAPL and sleep well at night.

Okay, lots to unpack here. First of all, a **layer 2 solution** and **Ethereum 2.0** are not the same thing. A layer 2 solution is something that runs "on top of" the Ethereum network to combine multiple transactions into one. Ethereum 2.0 is an upgrade to the Ethereum network itself. Keep in mind that when we say "Ethereum" it could mean two things. For example, when you think of KFC, it could either be a [brick building that looks like this](https://www.eatthis.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2020/12/KFC-2020-Ohio.jpg?quality=82&strip=1&resize=640%2C360) or it could be a [bucket of chicken that looks like this](https://indiaeducationdiary.in/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/IMG-20201024-WA0014.jpg). When you say the phrase "I walked into KFC to buy some KFC" it means that you walked into a building to buy some chicken. Context, right? It's the same way with Ethereum. There's the [Ethereum network](https://i.imgur.com/wlhl8Jf.png) and [there are coins](https://i.imgur.com/ARGfs1W.jpg) that exist within the network. We refer to both of these as "Ethereum" and it's up to you to use context to figure it out. If I send you some money on the Ethereum network, it gets recorded as [a line on the ledger](https://i.imgur.com/Bt5WOso.jpg). That way, everyone knows the transaction has occurred. The problem with this ledger is that it's only fast enough to handle 15 transactions per second. So how it does decide which 15 transactions get processed and which don't? It's the 15 transactions that are offering the highest incentive (gas fees) to get noticed. Suppose you have the following three transactions: * Alice pays Bob $10. * Bob pays Charlie $10. * Charlie pays Dave $10. You could [write each of these transactions separately on the ledger](https://i.imgur.com/6DJtb6C.jpg). But then each transaction would pay a separate gas fee. A layer 2 solution is something that collects multiple transactions, and then reports multiple transactions as one giant transaction to the main Ethereum ledger. If you conduct all three above transactions on a layer 2 solution, the layer 2 solution will realize that it's really just one transaction: * Alice pays Dave $10. All three transactions get combined and [reported as one transaction on the ledger](https://i.imgur.com/sWQjb6B.jpg), which saves on gas fees. When people talk about Ethereum 2.0, it's an upgrade to the ledger itself where it can do more transactions per second. Ethereum 2.0 is allegedly scheduled to be released in Q1 of 2022. However, do be aware that the Ethereum 2.0 release date has been "pushed back" several times in the past and it would not surprise me to see it "pushed back" again. In the meanwhile, there are many layer 2 solutions that exist. Perhaps the most famous is the Polygon network.

Yes it 100% is See the bank system functions on fractional reserve banking. It can loan out 10x on reserve deposits. Now if everyone removes their cash there is no way to make money for the bank. In 1933 President Roosevelt issued a Executive order 6102 and confiscated all teh countries gold. This was to back money with a precious metal ( or rebuild our reserves) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive\_Order\_6102](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102) In 1971 Nixon unhinged the gold standard from money and the new backing of value is human debt. The central banks/ IMG call this debt sustainability. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixon\_shock#:\~:text=The%20Nixon%20shock%20was%20a,international%20convertibility%20of%20the%20United](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixon_shock#:~:text=The%20Nixon%20shock%20was%20a,international%20convertibility%20of%20the%20United) [https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2020/09/what-is-debt-sustainability-basics.htm](https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2020/09/what-is-debt-sustainability-basics.htm) Remember credit scores did not exist until 1989 in the USA. Per the 1948 charter of the IMF if a countries currency deflates ( increases value) vs the US dollar then the IMF is supposed to pay the difference. This should never actually happen until it is happening right now. The federal reserve was founded in 1913 then the IMF and World banks shortly there after. The US leverages money as a means of alternative warfare. It uses a debt mechanism to prison countries and get them to give up their resources. The only way to purchase oil in the world is also not the petrol dollar standard. It is international law. This is why the USA is hawkish on oil. Should the dollar and petro dollar fail the USA is broken. The USA relies on forcing debt on everyone to make a working-class and take advantage of smaller countries. For the dollar to fail the banks would have to fail Remember the only way to get money (the dollar) is the central banks. Every dollar created is created with interest. It is technically impossible to pay off that debt in any country. If we all get out of debt banks can not exist. In 2004 El Salvador ditched thier own currency ( The Colon) and went to the US Dollar. The September 7th market crash coincided with El Salvador. This was the same time that Digital Currency Group/ Gray Scale was supposed to get an ETF approved through the FTC DCG/ GRayscale crashed the market on Sept 7th in exchange for SEC approval on their ETF.

Personally I went with the cheapest at the time. A .wallet domain. There are also .crypto and .nft But I use .wallet because it's the one that actaully functions as a wallet well. It has support for many cryptos: [\[IMG\]](https://i.imgur.com/w4H57n6.png) (there are more but these are the one that i was able to fit on one picture). If I remember well the .eth domains have to be renewed each year or something that I did not like at all. I am hoping there are more to come, but these unstoppable domains work as an IFPS website and a receiving address for your crypto at the same time, kinda cool in my opinion. Be careful with the gas fees on the other hand. I did these when it was like 10-20 gwei to do stuff on ethereum, but no it's 150+, it just not worth to do it now. They are implementing L2 support like polygon, so that's promising

Every ticketing company can use its own chain. A bridge is built towards the native token on Ethereum. The Korean ticketing company is for example running on Klaytn (Kakao's blockchain in Korea). Since Kakao is huge in Korea it will open the doors to many kpop artists and make ticket buying easy (will be possible on KakaoTalk... which has 220 million users). More info here: [Diagram explaining GET being chain agnostic ](https://i.ibb.co/PMSVmHR/IMG-20210404-164407-131.jpg)

Just like with stocks (or gold, or literally anything else), prices are based entirely on what somebody is willing to pay for it. The true price of a given crypto in a specific location is based on the running cumulative average of all sales of the given asset. Lets say we have an imaginary crypto named IMG. Now let's say 1 token of IMG was sold for $1. That would make the price exactly $1. Now let's say a second token of IMG sells for $2. Now the price is somewhere between $1-$2, since clearly people are willing to buy it for $1-$2. There is no definitive price for any crypto or security. The prices you see on exchanges are ALL approximations based on equations that look at the total transaction volume of buys/sells and at what prices they executed at. The price could be listed as $1,000,000 for a single IMG token, but if nobody ever buys it, it might as well be worth $0. A big part of finance is understanding that valuations are just approximations and estimations (however calculated and well intended they may or may not be). This fact is what leads to investors calling something under or over valued. Maybe a single bitcoin is worth $1 but crazy Rick from down the street who lives in his moms basement says it's the future of finance and a single one will be worth over 50k in the future. Knowing what we know now, we can confidently say BTC was undervalued 10 years ago, but we can only say that now because more people began to understand it and purchase it for that price. This is why doing your research is important. When you invest based on what something is worth or will be worth, you profit off of the arbitrage opportunity presented from buying from the now and selling to the future.

The discount can be somewhat frustrating if you’re trying to day trade. However if you’re patient it can work in the reverse, when people FOMO and GBTC price exceeds the underlying value. This happened at the 58K all time high. The concept of investing is about making money you cannot become an ideologue and be trapped by thinking to linearly. There are multiple ways to get to the same point. I hold bitcoin And GBTC. I can take advantage of the grayscale discount in both directions and trade it for free. I do think with the advent of ETFs heading to the US market grayscale will have to re-think it’s position or transfer into an ETF but right now and for a long time it’s been one of the only measures people can take to get exposure of bitcoin outside of using exchanges. file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/21/01/5B8A8FB6-118B-45C0-9BA5-143DA712C8D4/IMG_4216.heic

It also reminds me a lot of this blatant shitcoin called Apollo. There's a few really good threads on it here but they're outdated. They run the same shtick of making all these comparison graphs that are all factually incorrect. [Here's one](https://dapucases.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/IMG_20191209_090324_235.jpg) It's looked the same for 2 years now, note the "Coming soon" on smart contracts. Funny thing is that out of all those checkmarks only three or four actually work. The rest are copied from NXT when they forked but they've never gotten for example alias system or file transfer or decentralized marketplace to work. They claim less than 2 seconds tx speed and say that's the fastest crypto of all (Nano lol?). They say they do private transactions but they're not private as Jelurida proved [twice](https://www.jelurida.com/news/apollo-snake-oil) The past year their CEO has been hyping up that they're about to be the national currency of a new nation (Yes really). To top it all off they held an "election" where one of his employees stood in front of a vinyl flag, and three random guys from the US who were more than likely paid to appear in the 3 minute video, voted on their first president. Well guess who won the presidential election? You guessed it, the CEO of Apollo. Since then they've been telling everyone they're about to reveal the locations real soon (Several states spread around the world or something like that). But they've delayed that for almost a year now with new excuses every time
