All around best bang for your buck is Ledger. Trevor is vulnerable to physical exploit. Cold card is hardcore secure but Bitcoin only. I assume you want multi crypto and relative ease of use.. go with Ledger, from the official store. Perhaps send it to your work address, or a PO Box. Hardware wallet sellers have been hacked in the past, many home addresses of hardware wallet holders have been leaked. Stay secure :)

Many of your questions are answered in the thread. Trust me I know it sounds outrageous. I was only charged on the state level. No federal charges. Guess the feds were just for show or if it led to something big. I walked into PO office. Waited an hour. Packed house. The Probation office then tells me who I’m assigned to. I go to see her. She asked how long it would take me to pay fine. I told her I could do all of it today. I thought there was a catch but wasn’t. She just said they are overcrowded and that everyone that was still there was mainly doing payments on their fines each month. I took the piss test. Passed. Then went to court house and paid fine (I brought cash at first but they said it had to be paid by check.) Brought receipt to her. She filed to the judge to dismiss me from probation. Judge signs off on it 2 days later. I called my lawyer to tell him and even he was surprised. He emails me my paperwork on getting my felony expunged about a month later. As I said earlier, I got my paperwork ready for mods if they want proof

Not really. Going through all of this made it miserable. My case lasted years so it felt like probation itself. I plead guilty. What’s done is done. PO told me that I seemed intelligent and just made a huge mistake. They said if I passed drug test and paid fine that they would suggest to judge to dismiss me. Case was weak to begin with. They wanted 6 years at first but hard to do that once discovery was done. Lawyer that he could get not guilty verdict but I’d rather come clean and not risk getting 10 years if we lost case

So I've done a little research, Kraken is happy to work with an incorporated entity, however they absolutely will not do business with a corporation whose business address is simply a PO box. So you'll have to pay for a desk service at a minimum to operate with someone as reputable as Kraken. Incorporation in the BVI's costs circa $2000 to get it off the ground, half that in annual operating costs. You'll need to rent a small office space, from experience I know you can basically share a receptionist with other small businesses which can be fairly cost effective and may satisfy Krakens KYC.

Could. You don't even have to go in store, you can do it all on the phone and get the SIM either shipped to a PO box or then pick it up. I know because... I used to do stuff like this and had friends that did the same :) Cameras do nothing if you don't know what or who you're looking at.

But then snake oil salesmen convince people to let them take possession of their mattresses and they’ll totally and absolutely give them back *two* mattresses in 6 months (and BTW they can’t touch it for 6 months). Thank you! It's insane that people don't seem to get this. Either: A. they're fully backed with cash and stuff they can actually convert to cash (and have totally legitimate reasons to have been dodging an audit for years, and that 'attestation' from a firm that's just a PO box in the Caymans is all good), and there's no need for them to go away. B. They're not, so at some point become unable to meet redemptions. (and if you believe A, I've got a bridge to sell you)

Like most "Cayman based businesses" they probably have 0-2 dudes in Cayman, an external local lawyer handling filings and sorting mail, and the rest of the people sit somewhere else. In this case, in London. That doesn't mean the firm doesn't exist, they're just registered in a different location from most of the staff. That's usually how it works in those places. It's a direct subsidiary of MHA Macintyre Hudson which is a mid-sized UK based auditor. I agree with the rest of your post, just want to clarify that it isn't really the auditor that is the issue here.

The question isn't even about the caveat of the attestations - It's about their terms and conditions wr.t liability . Crypto's number one rule is "Not Your Keys, Not your coins" right? If these guys go under tomorrow, they'd actually owe you nothing - Unlike the Do Kwon incident. Their source code was lifted off a defunct project, and none of the founders have any reasonable experience in crypto, let alone the tech field. It's really a money cartel (and I won't mention names of some of the top players here - It's all available, but these individuals are all pretty suspect) built around dreams of a novel technology future, that's still too much experimental.

Because the only "proof" that Tether has the money they claim they have is an attestation from a "bank" operating out of a PO box in the cayman islands. An attestation from a respected institution would already fall short as backup for 80 billion e-dollars, let alone one done by a shady "Friend of the business". Also the owners of Tether are incredibly shady.

The only rule should be "understand the grift". If someone promises you easy returns, you need to understand where that return is coming from. Be skeptical about claims that seems to good to be true. Also know legal terms. So if a stablecoin says they have the collateral and prove this with an*attestation* from a cayman islands bank with only a PO box, you understand that there's 2 layers of untrustworthiness there.

>First of all, the Nakamoto coefficient of Cardano is 22: No it isn't. Notice that Coinbase's 6% doesn't show up on that list. Cardano's Nakamoto coefficient is 15- at the very most. We actually can't tell because Cardano caps pools and forces pool operators to run multiple pools for no reason. As a result, many of them do not disclose which pools they own. Coinbase runs 1 pool on Atom, but 23 on cardano. So cardano looks more decentralized because it has 15x as many validators, but it is actually less decentralized because a smaller number of entities control them. It's a pretty clever trick. https://forum.cardano.org/t/coinbase-opens-23-new-fully-saturated-cardano-staking-pools-bringing-another-1-5-billion-of-previously-unstaked-ada/98233 >I can construct blockchain with Nakamoto coeeficient 1 million, but I will secretly own most of the pools. Look at Solana, that has relatively high Nakamoto coef, but most of the pools are owned by VC's that play golf with each other. That would cost billions of dollars to do on Solana (each node costs tens of thousands of dollars, and you would get no extra reward for splitting up your stake). Coinbase could run 23 different nodes on ATOM and hide their ownership, but it would cost them 23x as much money as running one node. On Cardano, PO's have to do it or they don't get block rewards. Cardano is extremely centralized, and most of its top pools are also closely tied to each other. I'm not saying it's as centralized at Cardano, but it is hardly one that should be bragging about decentralization. Cardano does not have on-chain governance, and it is one of the least decentralized POS chains.

Tbh the first time I tried was pretty nerve wracking. It wasn't straight forward and I had to learn a lot about... How to access the dark web (Tor browser and where to find ever-changing dark web address)... How to buy Bitcoin (exchanges were few and far between, and in Australia even less so - first couple buys were very dodgy. Basically sending a bank transfer or depositing cash into a specified account in person at the bank and hoping to see BTC hit your wallet within a few days).... How to set up and use PGP encryption for messaging (this part always confused me, don't reckon Id remember how to do it now). How to get delivery (e.g. send to your own house, send to a 'dead drop' or PO Box, etc etc). In the end I opted for delivery to my house but used a psudeonym as property had many previous renters.... How to not get ripped off, how to raise a dispute on Silk Road and on and on and on. Was a good learning experience I guess, and certainly felt kinda cool engaging with all these different areas to facilitate an illegal transaction... defintely gave me some cred in certain circles of people that only ever read about it at the time... But I don't miss it one bit.

>Is he wrong? Is Cardano broken in some fundamental way? You misunderstand the point. Here: "The issue is that Charles repeatedly denigrated other projects for releasing products in broken states." Having a product in a broken state does not preclude it from being fundamentally sound; **what** is broken matters the most. For instance, if Cardano released a wallet that had a broken UI but one could still interact with it just fine on the back end, then there is no fundamental flaw with that broken wallet. There was simply some developer oversight that can be remedied. **However**, I am going to cite [the Sundaeswap whitepaper here](https://sundaeswap.finance/papers/SundaeSwap-2021-06-01-Fundamentals.pdf), because they do make a case exposing a fundamental issue with eUTXO: >\[Page 7:\] In the UTXO model, money is tracked as a chain of custody, by pointing at a specific (unspent) output from a previous transaction, which then gets consumed as the input to a new transaction. . . The **model used by Cardano extends this** in the following ways: • The UTXO is equipped with an arbitrary datum • The script locking the funds has access to input data, known as the “redeemer,” as well as the entire transaction . . . > >\[Pages 8-9\]: A minting policy allows tracking tokens to be minted so long as the appropriate liquidity is deposited • The same minting policy allows tracking tokens to be burned so long as the appropriate liquidity is withdrawn • The validator script allows swaps to occur, so long as they respect the pricing function and fee structure . . . > >\[Page 10\]: This model, however, has a fatal flaw. **Because any given eUTXO can only be spent once, as part of one transaction, it appears as if only one swap can happen per block. On the Cardano blockchain, there is roughly one block every 20 seconds.** This would be abysmal throughput for a decentralized exchange. We will discuss **the SundaeSwap scaling solution** in a future whitepaper. First, under SundaeSwap's analysis, because Cardano in its eUTXO model **extends** this UTXO concept: "\[M\]oney is tracked as a chain of custody, by pointing at a specific (unspent) output from a previous transaction, which then **gets consumed** as the input to a new transaction," that feature is embedded in Cardano. Because the Cardano team embedded that flawed UTXO concept in Cardano's eUTXO model, Sundaeswap needed to implement their own workaround to address that embedded flaw in Cardano's eUTXO. Compare this issue, which what I claim is a fundamental flaw, to the other hypothetical flaw I described above: >For instance, if Cardano released a wallet that had a broken UI but one could still interact with it just fine on the back end, then there is no fundamental flaw with that broken wallet. There was simply some developer oversight that can be remedied. Unlike that example above, where the broken UI was not representative of a back-end issue, *here*, the swap limitations of Cardano *are* representative of a back-end issue. That back-end issue is exactly what SundaeSwap described: >This model, however, has a fatal flaw. Because any given eUTXO can only be spent once, as part of one transaction, it appears as if only one swap can happen per block. On the Cardano blockchain, there is roughly one block every 20 seconds. Because Cardano's eUTXO swap issue is not a mere front-end issue, I argue that it is a fundamental flaw, **which is in agreement with SundaeSwap's own whitepaper.** Therefore, in spite of Cardano's emphasis on using peer-reviewed research to ensure correctness upon release, Cardano managed to launch a product with a fundamental back-end issue that forces developers to do workarounds. Simply put, this move by Cardano did **not** result in correctness upon release. Any fixes that come after will mirror exactly what you cited Vitalik does: to "break things" along the course of development. Further, regarding the following: >You're dead wrong about everything you just said. Go back to his original whiteboard video. Cardano has been designed from the outset to be completely modular with not only composable L2s but hybrid proofs (POW/POA/PO-whatever running as sidechains on Cardano) integrated. I don't know where you got any of this but it is 100% wrong. I admit, I'm mistaken about Cardano's stance on modular architecture. They deserve credit for adopting the modular approach. However, [you are also mistaken about the composability of ETH rollups](https://polynya.medium.com/addressing-common-rollup-misconceptions-eba9d758707e): >**A rollup remains fully composable,** even if it’s settled across multiple data shards or external data availability sources. > > Further, we have the possibilities of internally-sharded rollups that can come resolve to a single composable state with a single proof. > > Like L1s are not composable with each other, so are rollups systems not composable with each other. But there are many interoperability solutions live like Hop, Connext, cBridge and Biconomy, and many more in the works. **Indeed, there’s amazing innovations like dAMM that lets multiple zkRollups share liquidity! In addition, eventually we can have internally sharded zk rollups which retain full synchronous composability — a feat nigh impossible on L1s.** > > Tl;dr: Rollup composability is superior to L1s. Overall, I know you're invested in the Cardano community, and for that reason I advise you to diligently read the whitepapers of dApps launching there. Particularly those of the DEXs, because they will all have to address this specific issue with Cardano's eUTXO, and it's important you know their method so you can see whether it sacrifices decentralization/security for speed.

I just found out about cryptocoins, can anyone tell me how many bitcoins I need to buy a hello kitty NFT? Also how do they know where to mail it, do I need a PO box? Thank you kindly

Ledger or Trezor. Buy it from official website. Use Tor or VPN when registering to website. Use alternative or disposable e-mail address and new random password for registration. Use alternative prepaid phone number and not your real phone number for registration. Use crypto for payment, not connected with your real ID, or pay with cash in your local authorized reseller. Use alternative or fake name for registration. Use PO boxes or alternative address for delivery. Do your own research.

America makes exchanges verify your identity. I've only had a problem with Binance though. They won't verify me because my driver's license has a PO Box as the address. Wire transfers do cost $50 but you can just buy with a credit card on...I wanna say coinbase.

Hi, I work for the Bitcoin HR department, and would be pleased to accept anyone's input. To write to me, just write you comment on the back of a $100 bill and mail it to PO Box 323, Panama City, Panama, and I'll get back to you within 24 hours or your pizza is free.

I can't get my hands on a hardware wallet! 😔 I dont mind the brand or functionnality, I just have one condition, I aint giving my address to anyone, not after what happenned to Ledger customers (god help these poor souls). I looked at Ledger, Trezor, Bitbox, Coldcard and the problem Im having is they all use UPS or DHL for delivery, which means they cannot ship to my PO box unfortunatly. I did contact UPS to ask if I coupd ship to a UPS access point and they said no, so Im in a bit of a pickle right now. Does anyone have pointers or tips for me? thank you!

The software isn't ready for mass adoption. The learning curve is still to high. There's still too much fear. We're mid 90's internet when sending email was an amazing upgrade over the PO, but not many people were doing it. We need to get to 2015 internet when everybody has a smart phone in their pocket with a mail app that their grandkids can help them use. We're well on our way, but we're just not there yet. I don't know how long it will take, but my best guess is another 2-5 years.

ColdCard for max security both in BTC and personal info....for ease of use and the 90% solution for 90% of people go with Ledger. As to the "hack" it was the marketing database...so names, email and addresses....sure it was shitty but the same thing could happen to Starbucks or Walmart's customer list. Note that happened over a year ago so any subsequent customers would be at no risk for that hack. Also you could purchase from Amazon and trust them to keep their database secure. The most secure method would be a fake name and a PO box delivery address.

1. I've been around long enough to be witnessing that Ethereum **USED** to be innovative. But it hasn't been the leader, as you claimed, in a long time. Which is exactly what I said. 2. I could go down a long list of what Cardano has been innovating compared even to post-merge ETH: a) non-custodial POS without slashing, b) the Ouroboros consensus protocol which is provably as secure as Bitcoin's POW, c) full interoperability with Bitcoin because they share UTxO, d) the ability to run an account-based EVM but ETH cannot claim the reverse, d) a path to fully decentralized governance, e) a fully composable L2 integrated solution which allows for a multitude of consensus protocols (POW, POA, POH, PO-whatever-you-want) [think of Polkadot with a full L1 solution integrated since Polkadot is actually based on Cardano's consensus protocol)], f) fully deterministic fees that aren't charged even when a transaction fails, and that's just what I came up with off the top of my head. And before you start going on about how post-merge Ethereum will have roll-ups, that's not unique to, nor innovated by, Ethereum. Cardano, and other protocols, are incorporating - or have already incorporated - them too. We could have this same discussion around a number of other protocols as well. ETH is the one doing the copying from and playing catch-up with what already exists on other chains, not the other way around. 3. Don't try to rewrite history. You said Buterin had brought more innovation and created more value than Musk but failed to include the most innovative and value-creating solutions Musk has been responsible for, like SpaceX. You then laughably attempted to claim that SpaceX didn't have value because it wasn't publicly traded. 4. The fact that you didn't detect a point is a failure of your reading comprehension. You should look into that before further attempting to continue a conversation you're already having to try to rewrite the history of in order to save face.

A company with only 5 publications listed, a couple of which seem to be more like instructional guides not even audits. Yup nothing to see here bois

I would rather have one cash by mail transaction to buy or sell crypto in bulk and in advance, than to have to make a new one for every single transaction. Much more practical to do it all in one trip. Crypto is rarely used by major companies either, but my preferred VPN provider accepts both crypto and cash by mail for payment. Given these options, I would rather use crypto. It stores value better and probably costs a lot less to ship cash to a local crypto vendor than it does to ship it all the way around the world. Yes, most companies do not accept crypto because it is still very niche. Nevertheless, there are companies that accept crypto for most of the internet services I buy, and if there are two companies, one that accepts crypto, the other which does not, I will always choose the one that accepts crypto. I don't care where in the rankings it is because the merchants I buy from accept it anyway. > Where can you get a PO box without giving some kind of ID? Good point. It should still be noted though… one can always just make a fake return address. One doesn't need that to send USD, only to receive it.

> Crypto is much more practical for online payment than gold coins, and therefore more liquid for this purpose This argument goes out the window as soon as you're relying on something like cash by mail for fiat conversion. It's not easier, quicker, cheaper, or more practical to mail someone cash for crypto, then send that crypto to someone else, who then has to sell that crypto for cash, when you could just mail that cash in the first place (or you know, use Visa or Paypal or any of the other fiat payment methods accepted by vastly more merchants than either crypto or cash by mail). As soon as people gave up on crypto actually being a functional currency and decided it was a "store of value/digital gold/digital real estate" all these dis-intermediating arguments went kaput because its useless without a fiat conversion. >It's the currency of the internet. Okay, [show me where in the rankings of accepted payment methods on the internet crypto would be.](https://www.datanyze.com/market-share/payment-processing--26) And I mean actual crypto, not some centralized 3rd party service that offers you a Visa card where they sell your crypto and transfer fiat. >They also usually use P.O. boxes for where to mail cash to, not addresses, if that makes any difference. Where can you get a PO box without giving some kind of ID?

\*A little background about myself:\* I started mining BTC in 2015 in China, and have since moved my operations to the US. Currently my company is building a new renewable energy totally immersion cooling center in Texas. Through the years, I've developed relations with Bitmain to the point where I exclusively mine with their hardware. # I receive a lot of DMs on Reddit or elsewhere asking, "can I buy one please". The problem for the average joe retail miner is that they don't have access to the direct channels with the manufacturers at wholesale prices. Especially if you only want to "buy one please".But more than that, one of the best parts about the hardware business is buying/selling the futures contracts. The closer to delivery date, the more expensive they get. As some of you probably know, we can buy a contract for 100 miners from Bitmain delivery in July, and then sell the contract to someone else, before we even take delivery, for a profit._______________________________________________________________________________________________These are the two main issues that I think a tokenized ASIC Miner would solve.1. Ability for retail investors to get only a couple of units at wholesale.2. Ease to buy/sell the future contracts in the form of an NFT._______________________________________________________________________________________________ This is basically a crowdsourced ASIC mining hardware PTA (physical tangible asset) NFT. I will use my relationship with Bitmain to get wholesale prices. In stock machines in the US are selling from $120-150 per TH/s on Amazon and Ebay. If the current trend continues, we can expect landed S19 XP 150TH/s to sell for around $18-$20,000. Once the hardware is delivered in the US, (to my warehouse), holders will need to burn their NFT in order for their unit to be shipped to them. However, you could sell the NFT before delivery because this should create liquidity on the future miner delivery contracts. I will also provide an option to burn 10 in order to receive 1 'Hashrate' token in the equivalent of 1 = 1500TH/s. Historically speaking, the futures contracts of the mining hardware have risen in price the closer it is to the delivery date. We are tokenizing these futures contracts enabling the ability to buy and sell before delivery. Payback on these models is currently 6-7 months estimated by NiceHash. I've gone ahead and made a couple OS listings, although sale hasn't started. This is just me with an idea and to see if its good or not. Website will be done in a day or two. We have a TG and Discord group if anyone is interested in the concept. \*And please, all feedback is very welcome. I will be transparent as possible, posting my contracts, PO's, and possibly conversations with Bitmain on my website for the project - if/when we decide to launch. I've made a TG group to further spitball ideas about the project. Anyone is welcome to join to help make this a reality.\*
