Form 10-K filed on March 1,2024 has some insight to the acquired biotech company ModeX that will have multi-specific antibodies developed using MSTAR technology platform and is anticipated to enter preclinical and CMC development stage in 2024. I've had an account there, and often been forced to have my auto enrolment pension through them, and I've never been a fan (just a personal view.) If you only buy Vanguard funds then their own platform will often be the best pick. Annoying they charge you when you only can invest in their own products but that's life sometimes! Assuming you are investing via ETFs you can also look at Trading212, Freetrade, and CMC Invest (the last two are also looking at/have classic funds too.) One provider you might be surprised about is AJ Bell, they have some scaling fees but often they are capped, meaning you can snag a pretty good deal if you know what you invest in, and how often. Using their regular investing solution to cut costs helps in a big way (same for most providers so check that out too.) If you want just funds and ETFs (a few equities) then checkout Dodl which is made and owned by AJ Bell but it's their "entry level" brand but still gives a tone of flexibility at a very low price point. ii also has a fund only tier which is pretty price competitive, and they have a more modern experience compared to the other incumbents. Personally, I use CMC Invest for my ISA and GIA (I got a promo so reduced the £120 a year down) but previously I was AJ Bell (was ii before then.) My SIPP I have with Moneyfarm so I'm more hands off but again got a good deal on the management fees. Worth keeping your eyes open for the switcher deals everyone should be offering around now. The lead up to April should have everyone offering cash back or discounted fees for transferring your account.

I recently came across CMC Markets. I created an account very specifically to margin short **by point.** Not by contract. ( Meaning for every point a stock moves times my bet per point). After I create my account it turns out it is only for UK residences. Is there anywhere in Canada I can access this type of shorting? I've been looking and can not seem to find it.

I'm not totally familiar with Interactive Investors systems sadly but I wouldn't be surprised they follow a similar approach to the other brokers when it comes to LSE execution for traditional equities. I know there are very low liquidity AIM stocks which don't do electronic quoting at all but I'm guessing this is quoting but it's the volume that's the problem here. I'll pick on CMC to make my example, they have just fallen out the FTSE 250 so they are part of the all-share now, still main market but not super popular. [https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/CMCX/cmc-markets-plc/company-page](https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/CMCX/cmc-markets-plc/company-page) the volume here is 215,000\~ which is roughly £260k\~ per day worth of shares moving about. So you can see how a sudden £50k makes up a huge chunk of this! You can take a pretty unscientific look at the trades that have happened and see a lot of them are for very small amount. Keeping in mind this isn't that small a company, but even then as a retail trading asking to trade any more than £20k\~ on this stock in one move would raise some eyebrows. Even the main FTSE 100 most brokers in the UK would ask someone trading more than £50k-100k worth to break up their order or call. Some brokers offer a "route to dealer" option for these trades which would move the market that day, and it will go into an algo which they watch through the day. Either it breaks up the order for you to achieve your price with minimal impact to the price and trading activity, or they call up/query market makers directly and see if they will just do a deal. It does seem your order would work through the whole order book and take all liquidity away, which will be more expensive for you like you say, and the exchange doesn't like it when you are that hyper aggressive. I'd say you've best bet is to break your order into smaller smaller each with their own price limit as you've done to allow for smaller execution over a few days, e.g. each limit order is still 2.4p but you are buying 210,000 shares (£5k\~) and having ten of them. You'll likely get a stable and more reliable fill without breaking the system or causing a price shock. You can look at the average trade sizes on the stock to get a good idea of a "normal" looking total value to put through. My only worry would be exiting the position in the future, if it's this difficult to get the amount you want, it'll be as challenging to dispose of it later on too. A stock split is like slicing a pizza. You can cut the pizza as many times as you want. The number of pieces increases, but the size of the pizza doesn't change. A reverse split is the opposite of that. It's like combining several small pizza slices into one big pizza slice. So, you had 24,500 tiny slices of a pizza. Then they combined 240 slices into 1 big slice. The price of the 1 big slice was $11, but your account probably still showed that you had 24,500 slices. They updated the price, but your number of slices probably hadn't updated yet. You still have the same amount of pizza. The reverse split by itself didn't cause you to lose money. Be super careful with your financial information. Only log in using your own phone. Food safety is important and CMC is worried about who's handling the pizza. If you aren't getting good customer service from your brokerage, it might be a good idea to shop around and try out a different one.

Most non US based brokers have S&P500 indices as CFDs. It generally has notations of US500 or SP500 depending on the broker. My broker (CMC Markets) literally PAYS ME 61.6% per year daily interest payments just to hold long positions on NG. Their contract is leveraged 5x, so I get 66.1% interest on that leveraged position. But I'm struggling to even £50 a day consistently. Starting with £1,000 and I'd like to be able to make £1,500+ after 30 days trading. I've tried to get on the companies that peak as soon as the market opens but I haven't made much more than a few dollars.

Something that I have noticed in VCs that invest in biotech is exactly that. They have PhDs or MDs from Harvard, Stanford or any big school. But they have little to no real world experience. They claim to understand the science which they probably do, but they have no real hands experience in implementation, execution and materialization of a scientific principle. No clue about regulatory requirements, or CMC requirements. In paper, time travel is possible but in reality impossible (as of now). Look at the debacle in cell and gene therapy companies of the last 2 years. All because these VC guys have too much money and all they need is for something to be promising in paper to dump as much as they are asked.

Life will still go on, lessons must have been learnt, a lot of crypto users will now have to always carry out reality checks on exchanges moving forward before investing on CEXs. I am quite impressed with the information from Cointelegraph and CMC concerning MEXC on how reliable the exchange is. I am seriously looking at hedging my assets there.

We can only hope for the best. Your story and other FTX user was very unfortunate. The aftermath of the FTX incident is still creating mass panic within the crypto space. It's seem a lot of users are choosing Binance and MEXC Global as their lifeboat leading to a sudden surge of MEXC spot 24-hour trading volume with over $20.468 Billion, second to only to Binance as reported on CMC.

IMO they didn't create "tokens" on any stock. Tokens should be something that a user can take into their own possession e.g. their Web3 wallet. Then the user is in control, not a centralized entity. FTX just created a database entry on their backend to reflect stock that they (supposedly) held via a Swiss subsidiary. They did more than GME US. YTD high was $399.927. On FTX the price was always above $600 until late Aug. I'm actually working on a method to tokenize stocks so users can take ownership.

70% of the steel produced in the USA is from mini mills (Electric Arc Furnace) all of this plants can be shutdown and restarted easily, actually they have contracts where in case of energy peak they shutdown and make money for not using the energy. In Texas during the energy crisis in the winter a couple of years ago they made tons of cash without making a single ton of steel. Do you want to look at the EBITDA of Nucor, CMC, Gerdau, SDI? They made more money the last two years than ever.

Bro...I'll tell you right now.....QA/QC seems boring AF, but if you can break into manufacturing for cell and gene therapy products, eat a few years of doing a terrible job for a brighter future. Manufacturing gene therapies is where the money is at. Everyone in school wants to do the research and wants to get paid for curing cancer, but if you don't have anyone that can manufacture the therapy you don't have a product. There are very, verrrrrrrrrrrry few people in the world who know all of the regulations and intricacies of manufacturing gene therapies, and those that do though get paid shit tons of cash. I've gotten hit up before with offers of $300k to do manufacturing for companies desperate for CMC leadership for their gene therapies. Forget research. Get into the manufacturing and regulatory side. It's not easy though. But where there's a will there's a way.
