I saw a new one by circle not too long ago for the Euro called EUROC but other than that I’m not too sure I’ve seen one called GYEN for stable Japanese Yen but I’m afraid that’s about it I’m sorry I hope this helped a little!
GYEN is a stablecoin, pegged to the Japanese fiat currency Yen. With a funny name like GYEN and a price of 0.7¢ per coin, it looks like a shitcoin. Back when GYEN first came out on coinbase pro it pumped about 900% Good times man...good times. That said yeah, USDCUSDT is a great pair to trade on bybit 50x today.
I've traded with 5 or 6 major exchanges... Coinbase F'd me with the $GYEN fiasco Lost trust in binance through the actions of CZ himself FTX, well... Yeah And so on... Right now, the vast majority of assets that I have on an exchange is at CDC... I know that people love to shit on it and complain a lot (some of it with reason) but truth is: bear market, FUD, bank runs, rate cuts... They're still here and going strong... Business as usual... Look at my post history. I think the second most recent post shows the price chart for ETH, BTC, and GYEN. You will notice that all three dealt with the bear market differently, but each suggests that bottom extended across the edges of Q3 2022. The anger stage would have been after the steep drop many tokens saw in June or July. Depression stage appears to have been October 2022. Notice that a lot of people called January a sucker's rally. I was one. Part of the problem with determining the crypto cycle is that insider manipulation manufactures sentiment. It's confusing. Moreover, governments have proven hostile toward crypto. It's not a simple cycle we're dealing with.

That's what I figured. I have no confidence in the USA dollar either. Yes, it is most unlikely that the main world reserve currency will bust on any given weekend, but I'm at the point where I'm willing to bet on GYEN over USD or USDC.

I had them lock up thousands of dollars in GYEN tokens for over a month during the holiday season because of their fuck up. I was also not the only one, and them randomly locking accounts is not exclusive to this particular incident. You don't have to look hard to find the stories.

Well said, I’ve had nothing but bad luck with stablecoins. I got rooked on that GYEN “glitch” so I’ve been keeping my distance since. I just read there have been 8 confirmed suicides attributed to Luna’s crash. It’s really sad. I took a break from crypto because stocks & crypto juggling became too overwhelming and my girlfriend hated me checking my phone every second. This massive crash brought me back in because just like when China tried to crackdown they always rebound. Luna may be an exception

The first Stablecoin I bought was GYEN, I don’t know if anyone else has or had a similar experience, but I had a $1,000 in and just a week later I checked my account and I all of a sudden had 20k of GYEN. Anyway, they called it a glitch and wouldn’t allow anyone to convert or withdraw. A few lucky folks got huge sums of money out before they caught the so called glitch but after three days and zero feedback from anyone involved (Coinbase, GYEN) I again randomly had $800 in my account which never changed in value. I never bought a “stablecoin” again. I should probably look up if there was a conclusion to the story but I really don’t care.

I tried to sell GYEN for $50k profit but Coinbase wouldn’t let me.
They are ! stablecoins are supposed to stay pegged to a fiat currency ($USD for Tether) GYEN was a stablecoin supposed to be pegged to 円 (japanese YEN) value. But iirc after it listed on coinbase it failed to stay pegged and the high demand made the price rise which led to a snowballing effect of its price mooning when it was supposed to stay stable. Then they stopped the trading on it and I believe they ended up delisting it (not sure about that).

PAXG is pegged to the value of gold. GYEN is pegged to the Yen. I'm sure their are others for other fiat currencies. I don't really see the point of moving away from USD though. It is still the worlds de facto currency. Until that changes, crypto will still be generally done in terms of USD.

Been using coinbase for the last one and half years never had an issue but nevertheless my brother who just has starting to invest asked me to suggest a wallet and obviously I recommend coinbase but he has a lot issues over GYEN glitch and chart stuff. No, they've actually locked anyone's accounts who bought GYEN, not just people who tried to profit from the glitch. My account's been locked for 10 days and I always showed the right amount purchased, for the price I purchased it at.

So basically if you bought 1000GYEN from Coinbase they’d do a 100x multiplier which was sort of a bug And from what i know, coinbase has been locking a few accounts to recover the lost GYEN, but jokes on them since some users took advantage of this bug and withdrew some of their free money out
