They sell packs of cards, for ETH, $, $GODS or IMX on their website. You can get those cards for free by playing, but it takes a long time. A lot of people have a lot of ETH and invest in the cards. I've bought a pack for a few bucks and gotten a $100+ card a few times. Mostly I bought the ones I needed for specific decks. The beauty is, if you ever get bored, or get too busy to play like I did, you can SELL YOUR CARDS on the marketplace! This is the advantage of NFTs as cards/game items is. All the new rage is crypto DEBIT CARDS, which erases all consumer protections that a credit card offers. If someone hacks your Debit it's your money that disappears so Visa will barely give any shit about fixing the theft rapidly. Gonna say cards a lot in this post but essentially: * CARDS is the launchpad token of Cardstarter, which enables access to IDOs * CSWAP is the token for CardSwap, a cancelled DEX run by Cardstarter The partnership was for the CSWAP tokens (as they were meant to be 30% of the Cardswap dex). As part of the deal with Sundae, the CARDS tokens would've constituted part of the LP transferred over. The collapse in CSWAP price was due to the initial announcement from Cardstarter that holders could expect a 400:1 conversion for every CSWAP into CARDS and that there would be further updates. This placed CSWAP's implied value at less than a cent and thereafter, the community who created the LP in the first place pulled everything out. (Note that the CSWAP pool was not started or funded by the team but was an independent creation by CSWAP miners)

A lot of people are angry on the telegram, and rightfully so, but you're an idiot if you've over extended yourself in such a speculative project. I bought some CARDS a long time back, but it makes up something like 5% of my portfolio. Same with C3. So it was alarming to browse the telegram as it was happening, but I did literally just invest what I could afford to lose. I watched it hit -40% or so, and it's been dropping consistently up to this point anyway - I've owned less of it in value than it would probably cost me in gas fees to exit - and I don't really care. So it's still sitting there and maybe it'll come back in time when the market recovers, maybe it won't. I wasn't greedy enough to go all in on speculative assets. Having said all that, I did go heavy on XCUR and that might come back to haunt me if it gets wiped out, but it is what it is. It's still a great project but it won't ruin me if it fails. If the cardstarter rug pull ruined you then it's kind of your own fault for being so greedy.

That aside, the actions of these few bad players shine a bad light on the whole ecosystem... As I've understood it, cardstarter had a nice idea to decentralize venture capitalism. You bought CARDS and when you wanted to venture a Projekt cardstarter cooperated with, you locked up your CARDS for a certain amount of time, not sure how the financing should have worked out, CARDS were to expensive for me to get started there so I didn't bother learning the core mechanism. Anyways, someone came up with the ISPO model (initial stake pool offering), where early supporters of a projekt like Minswap (gonna take this example, because I participated in their ISPO and its already over) could elect stakepools, that raised a certain amount of fees, that were used to finance the projekt early on. Some projekts take 2-5% some take your whole staking rewards, your Adress gets Tokens from the projekt as soon as its ready and the tokens are minted. That way EVERYONE who has some Ada to stake can partake in this form of venture capitalism. This model makes cardstarter basically useless, because a way more practical form of their model quickly became the standard. Sundae seemed to really like the ISPO model aswell, they also did some form of that but a tad bit different, you could delegate to their 'scoopers', that processed the transactions for their BETA launch, to get some SUNDAE tokens airdropped. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, feels like sundae did cardstarter dirty and changed the contract terms, which is technically not even illegal because we're unregulated but is still concidered as a dick move, not only in bird culture. Cardstarter team seems to feel betrayed and they now behave like ignorant baby's, keeping everything for themselves and not trying to find a solution for their community, who now could be concidered rugged. Tl;dr: THANK YOU CARDSTARTER AND SUNDAE TEAM FOR SUCH INFANTILE BEHAVIOR, AS IF CARDANO COMMUNITY DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH HATERS ALREADY. sorry had to vent a little but that's basically it. Infantile bahaviour by individuals that led thousands to not get tokens they were promised. None of this is illegal so none of them will be brought to justice.
