I can confirm that the gains were indeed FAT. I got into crypto in early 2017. When the bear market hit I didn't sell, I just watched my portfolio evaporate (somehow confident in my research and that things would work out down the line). I wasn't in debt and I had no immediate need for the money, so I hodled. It's funny the bear market was such a peaceful time for me. I didn't check prices every two minutes and I was no longer scrolling through Reddit, well into the small hours. Heck I got married, changed jobs and bought a house (completely forgetting about my cryoto holdings). Fast forward to Jan 2021, checked my wallets and ill be damned.... Even now during this baby dip, I'm up 700%. Am I panic selling now? Nope. I'm adding and re-weighting my portfolio to account for the new projects that have emerged since 2017. Yes, 100% Visa is going to get their cut. ALL of Wall Street and financial companies like Visa, Mastercard, etc. are absolutely salivating at this new space. To them, it's an opportunity to claw into a new market, and in the early days--charge THICK & FAT fees. Why do you think Wall Street hated crypto 24 months ago and has done a 180 in the last few?!? They see MEGA $$$ to collect in fees. Make no mistake. But yes--this is good for all crypto in general.
