Difference is if the exchange gets hacked or goes tits up you don't loose your coins when it's in your own wallet 👍 For your regular old joe keeping it on an exchange exposes you too all kinds of frauds. Exchanges and sketchy mobile/desktop wallets are the number one target for scammers and hackers. The best piece of advice to get some verification mechanism to protect your coins. Hardware wallets are recommended for that reason. Main 3 players in the game are the following though tangem is not "technically" a hardware wallet. It still gets you a physical object to verify transactions with but don't include seperate hardware display, thus it theoretically has a slightly larger attack surface. - Trezor - Tangem - Legder I'd recommend them in that order as well if you hold any substantial amount of coins. Trezor is the undisputed GOAT for Bitcoin storage. Get a steel plate and a trezor and you will sleep very well. Tangem is not a true hardware wallet but till uses a physical object to verify transactions with (though without display). You get 3 cards you can distribute geographically for redundancy. Seedless Is recommended here but you should read up on pros and cons. Ledger is quite sketchy overall. It has been big target for tampering in the past. If you buy it from official vendor it should be fine, but I'm personally not gonna trust it. This is just my opinion though. Others will have different opinions and that's completely valid 👍

For regular spot swaps I’d still stick to Uniswap or an aggregator like DeFiLlama, simple, fast, and predictable. Intent-based / specialized platforms can make sense if you’re scalping or doing more tactical trades, but people should be aware there are often extra fees/taxes baked in (solver fees, platform fees, etc.), which eat into profits. I’ve used stuff like Axiom, GMGN, Padre, etc. for quick scalp trades and they’re fine for that niche, but for normal spot buying Uniswap is still the GOAT imo.

Well what i do. I trade solana meme coins. Its been my thing for about a year now. Anyone can 100% im a day with them super easy. I’m a maxi in the sense that it’s the only crypto I believe in, I do gamble with altcoins but Bitcoin is the GOAT. Anything from salt to sea shells can become a reserve asset of the world, but until bitcoin has global adoption I can’t be a maxi in the sense that it’s 100% of my portfolio. Hypothetically let’s assume that in the not too distant future bitcoin becomes the only reserve asset. Does that mean that everything will get cheaper relative to bitcoin overtime? Aren’t there some assets that grow in value like stocks/the means of production, that will cost more overtime in bitcoin due to enhanced increased value production? I haven’t read about a truly deflationary monetary system before, but I’ve heard gold didn’t work because it couldn’t expand fast enough during economic booms? Or they papered over it to the point where there was more paper than gold I’m not sure

Not understanding the fundamental reasons why Bitcoin was created, why its the GOAT, how to properly store it using hardware wallets and why everyone switches to it once they learn their lessons with alts.
The average person can still easily become above average by purchasing an insignificant amount of bitcoin today. For some reason people tend to only focus on becoming part of the 0.1%. That's not likely going to happen, by definition, only 1/1000 people can be that person. But if you can still make yourself better off by buying a small amount, why would you not? Just because you can't be the GOAT, doesn't mean you shouldn't be the best that you can be.
