Regarding bitcoin whale concentration: Today, March 27th, the 8 richest americans have more wealth than 4 billion people. Let that sink in. Do you know why that is? Inflation. If I live in tanzania, and I get paid 10/day of the local currency, which trades against the US dollar (the arbitrage thing I mentioned above), I am getting royally fucked by the inflation worldwide. Why? Because the money supply is PUMPING in a way that is completely unrealistic for me to catch up with. In effect it means one thing; all money (meaning my money) becomes less valuable; and the rich peoples money… wait, they dont sit on cash?? They have houses. Gold bars. Apartment buildings in Manhattan. Businesses. Stocks. ETF’s. And all that extra money thats in the world, guess where that’s going? Exactly.  Inflation is, for all intents an purposes, a tax on the poor. It’s a way to suck value out of money from people who are too poor to afford appreciating assets. If you are not western middle-class, it’s very difficult to place your net worth in anything that won’t decay. Noone wants an apartmentblock in a warzone. Noone wants a straw-hut in the desert. And I can’t safeguard the tiny chunk of gold I own In the middle of Kenya. The only reason people aren’t up in arms about this is because we’re incredibly bad at understanding this intrinsically; we see the same amount on our account every day; and a 2% increase in the cost of living year on year does not feel violent enough to shake us. So we are indebted to the system, to finding more money, to doing more work, and the work we did 10 years ago hoping to be able to afford a house is, by now, almost 25% less valuable. TBC

Normally, banks/credit only offer loans backed against assets for this reason. In a world backed by BTC only, banks can charge a MUCH lower interest rate, as they know the money they get back is worth the same or more, and that lower interest rate in turn also makes it easier and more plausible for the borrower to pay back the money via completely normal market dynamics. Maybe the breads at his store go up 1% in price for a bit, until market dynamics push it back down again over time. Honestly, the only real ”issue” I see here is that predatory, unbacked high interest loans become incredibly risky and may potentially just cease to exist altogether. Re the “bitcoin only promoters endgame”: First and foremost, I want to make clear that personally I’m not “bitcoin only”. I do see it as the skeleton inside of the financial meat-machine, however. My actual belief having spent countless hours researching, reading history, and thinking about this is that Bitcoin will eventually serve as a provably, mathematically limited token of value that will provide a (much needed) “final” skeleton to the language of money/how we express value, stored/rewarded and spent. I think there is merit in being able to transfer value peer-to-peer, near instantly, with no middlemen or "human" control over the network. How much is TBC, but the fundamental idea has merit IMO.
