**I bought an NFT on COSMOS and optimistic thoughts on COSMOS Governance** I stumbled across the governance of COSMOS app chains and I'm impressed. In traditional DAO Governance, you'll go to the app/site, like Maker. There are forums to review proposals, comment, and then vote (usually x number of weeks later or the next month). Want to view proposals for a different app like AAVE or Compound? You then go to their site and do the same thing. Why am I bullish on COSMOS governance? Simple, it's integrated into your wallet -- you select your Network on the wallet and you'll see what you would normally expect, your balance, the amount staked, and staking rewards. On the mobile app, you scroll down and the governance proposals for each app chain are right there at your fingertips. Read them, vote on them, it's IMO the best integration of governance in crypto and it makes it much more accessible to everyday users. This is getting long, but I'll wrap up that I bought my first NFT on the Stargaze app chain within Cosmos. The main advantage the Cosmos HUB has is it's validator set. It's incredibly hard to amass a validator set as experienced and reliable as the HUB, so hard in fact that no chain has been able to thus far. Other Cosmos SDK chains can and will compete on features with the HUB but that's actually a good thing because it breeds innovation.

In Cosmos they are as the HUB is \*no\* layer 1. nothing is being built on it. The Ecosystem as a whole is the Network. Each dapps has its own chain. that is why it is so decentralised. And no, people typically do not only have their capital on one chain and are spread instead. That is what I am saying. Also. The chains are going to secure each other once interchain security is online (3 months). So that adds another layer of security to the entire ecosystem.

Good write up, mate! Something I would like to add is HUB routing that you forgot to mention which also drives value to the HUB. Moreover, interchain accounting will allow for DAOs to be structured in a new way. Currently, community treasuries are being under-utilised and DAOs are just up and coming without a perfect structure being had yet. Interchain accounting will allow for full transparency of DAO spending and activity, it will allow for the creation of focussed sub-groups for specific topics to have more expertise in the decision making without having to separate the two entities in some form and it will also allow to acquire new chains without having to set up new modules / wallets or whatever. If DAOs are going to be big at some point, this is what they will want to utilise.

The 2022 roadmap is looking great with interchain staking, HUB routing, liquid staking and much more. Cosmos has flown somewhat under the radar without much hype but people are starting to notice the effect IBC has had on Cosmos SDK chains.

This is just a lack of understanding. The Design choice is intentional to not have a single point of failure and vector of attacking the network. Cosmos still benefits from those chains as HUB routing, Interchain Security, Gravity DEX, Airdrops, Trust & Interchain accounting all comes from the HUB and greatly benefits from a vast ecosystem. No, you do not need to set up multiple accounts. Keplr is the interchain wallet for the entire cosmos ecosystem. It holds all the coins connected to the Cosmos HUB (Terra, ATOM, Akash etc.). Osmosis is a decentralised exchange, therefore you do not need to set up an account there whatsoever. So the only step you have to do in order to trade for Akash is to buy ATOM / Terra on whatever exchange you are on and get it into keplr. You can also stake it through Keplr which will enable you to receive both staking as well as revenue rewards from the akash network. So, it is quite straightforward. Basically just one application which does it all for you.

The Cosmos HUB already has HUB routing enabled and Gravity DEX implemented with ATOM as its native token, Shared Security & Chain Naming Services are coming in Q1 & Q2 of 2022. The Cosmos HUB is just an Opt-in Service Provider, as should be the case with a network running on credible neutrality. Polkadot, as a comparison, has a single point of failure built into its ecosystem, which cannot happen with the Cosmos Ecosystem - which is what Sunny was referring to.

The Cosmos ecosystem is booming and a lot of capital is flowing in. Aside from the fact that ATOM already 5xed from July to September, it is currently under pressure because the value accrual mechanisms are not yet active. Hub Routing is being set to 0 transfer fees (right now) in order to grow the network and for it to have as little barriers to entry as possible and interchain security / Name services are being implemented next year. Therefore, You can expect a sharp increase as soon as those factors (and whatever they think of as well) change. Also, Gravity DEX with its native Token ATOM is coming out of beta this month and will be a cross chain defi HUB through EMERIS. That should also generate some value. I am happy exploring the ecosystem right now and receiving all the aidrops from projects launching. I think that COSMOS is going to be the center of interoperability.

Everyone is sleeping on Cosmos HUB. There we have blockchains that already work, like Luna and Secret, each having great unique utilities. (I’m not talking on the ATOM token / Cosmos chain itself, just to be clear). Elrond is also coming a bit late, but it’s coming as strong as or even more than Algo, and even if not, it at least works, different than ADA.

Because ATOM does not only secure the hub and therefore secure the IBC bridges connected to it, it also has it's own Gravity DEX (Cross Chain DEX + Cross chain DEFI UI) for which it is the native token. Meaning, you will be able to access all sorts of DEFI with ATOM. Moreover, ATOM will be generating fees throughout the entire ecosystem through shared security and HUB routing. I honeslty think that ATOM has way more use cases than most tokens on the interchain and more importantly, it will need to have a lot of value locked in order for the entire system to remain secure. Therefore, all connected chains and developers have an interest in increasing the value of ATOM.

I have been advocating ATOM for months now. It is so much for efficient to connect to Cosmos instead of building bilateral bridges to every project - aside from the fact that IBC bridges are vastly superior to normal bridges. The HUB has just gotten all the moving pieces together and both Terra & ETH are joining this month. Might even be this week. There are a lot of airdrops coming as well, the ecosystem is vibrant with osmosis already breaking into the top 100 as the main dex (Emeris still in beta but potentially even bigger). Shared security will be the next big thing. I honestly have nothing negative to say about Cosmos. I think it is gonna be the mainframe on which all the other stuff is going to connect with each other. You will even be able to access all the various defi protocols through Emeris. Just awesome IMO.

Sure. Shared security is incoming, this means that blockchains using the Cosmos SDK can use ATOM's validator set and be secured ATOM. Staking ATOM will not only reward you in ATOM but stakers will also receive tokens from chains using shared security. The Cosmos HUB roadmap has been reworked since Jae Kwon's departure to bring more value to ATOM in the form of fee accrual. This includes the Gravity DEX, Gravity bridge (ETH bridge), and IBC routing, and more being led by the community and developers. Airdrops are also a big deal. The list of airdrops from Cosmos SDK blockchains to ATOM holders is growing larger and larger. Cosmos had major issues with utility and tokenomics until recently but the community and the team are really working hard to improve it and have made a lot of progress in that regard.

Since nobody here seems to have a thourough understanding of Cosmos & Atom, here you go: Cosmos is a brainchild of Tendermint and was designed as a decentralised Hub for the Cryptospace aka the internet of Blockchains. What does that mean? Instead of building bilateral bridges between chains as is currently common, you can just plug into the Cosmos hub and be connected to every other chain also connected. Cosmos has solutions to connect with both POS as well as POW chains and makes tokenexchanges completely interoperable. Tendermints SDK is one of the most utilised SDK's in all of Crypto and many nameworthy chains are built upon it (e.g. Terra Luna). All of these chains can easily connect to the Cosmos Hub via the IBC bridge which is automatically enabled in these chains (I believe). ATOM: ATOM is both the governance token and secures the HUB and is also being utilised for fees as well as the Gravity DEX (User Interface Emeris) - which is comparable to thorchains (also Cosmos SDK) cross chain DEX functions. With an expanding ecosystem, more and more fees are being generated through ATOM which shall partially be re-distributed to ATOM stakers as they secure the network. Overall a fantastic project and could really become the central HUB for all things Crypto.
