At the level you’re at, invest in yourself. Wherever you’re trying to get with your flight training or school is the best investment you can make. Then once you have a full time job as a pilot, or degree, or whatever, you can pursue equities. I will say it will be very difficult to get a pilots license for $4000. I think it’s usually around $15K and that’s just for a PPL which you can’t even use to make money.

For real. Most people don't push themselves. I never understood the 5 sets of 5 thing. Like, if you have enough energy to get the same number of reps for 5+ sets in a row, then it just means you were going to nowhere NEAR failure on your first set. And if not going to failure, the muscles never grow. What's PPL mean? I typically work out with a weight that puts me in the 6-8 rep range (I do 3-5 sets and go to absolute failure on every set obv). The day I'm able to get said weight for 10 reps on my first set, I move up 10 lbs and that becomes my new workout weight, repeat the process.

I'm deeply troubled by our consumption driven, overly capitalistic system. On stocks and the market, our use of shorting and options is concerning - I'd always thought stock was about ownership and dividends. The growth in the wealth gap, corporate profits, the PPL bail outs with no verification from the irs (could've been easily done) - show our focus is not the citizens of the nation, but the businesses of it. Court rulings like citizens United abs more add to my concern. I look back at "the 99%" movement abs think they had a point. Nick Hanauer's TED talk, "the pitchforks are coming for us," is great - and concerning. All that said, I'm still in the market. "Capitalism, it's a flawed game, but I don't intend to lose.'
Hi. Sorry did not answer. I can't give anyone financial advice as I'm not a big maverick in the market. Boeing appears to be doing "well" considering they are 2 days away from earnings, but a surprise drop/pullback could occur. Or a surprise up too. It's a gamble. PPL with big money & access to info not published in the news (or not yet ) with lots of shares can cause dramatic price movements, up or down.

To explain the all the nuance would be really complex. But it kind of lends itself to invest in industries you understand mantra. Utilities (with the exception of generation) are regulated as they are often a regional monopoly. As with any company there are a few ways to make money. Cut expenses, or sell more stuff. Well for electric utilities selling more stuff usually means more power delivery (not generation) and the recovery of capital cost of providing that power delivery. Sounds like a boon right...data centers move in...power company builds new lines, subs, provides more power...$$$. But there are 2 problems here. 1) load growth at scale (be it data centers, electrification, etc...) takes many many years. And 2) subsequently to recover the capital investments (e.g. that new substation that you built) from your customers - you need to go in for a rate case and argue why you should charge your customers more. So instead to try and increase eps, hit earnings, utilities try and maximize the reduction of operational expense over the near term. This opens them up to risk (esp in fire country) or impacts their reliability performance which means they are less likely to get favorable outcomes in rate cases. It's a balancing act - some companies do it well, others not so much. But knowing which is which requires intimate knowledge: EXC, NEE, DUKE, PPL, FPL tend to be reliable strong performers at the forefront of the industry, and are mostly vertically integrated (and have a healthy representation in most utility-cenrered funds)...but I certainly wouldn't consider any of them 'growth stocks', they are low volatility, strong dividends stocks. I could get into political landscape, generation operationaly inefficiency, etc....but too much to type. In short, holding utilities is not bad, it's a very safe investment that will see some growth over the coming decades. But don't expect 'pops' of growth.
