I took some profit a bit back, waiting awhile. I had fomoed in when btc first hit 53k, on all of the "robinhood" cryptos. I made bank on the May dip, dropping my btc average to $36k, eth to $2080 and ltc to $146. The big move was a gamble where I borrowed from savings to split between btc and eth. That has since been paid back,and yes, I hold on REAL exchanges now (CB/CDC). I don't have a huge investment, so I'm letting it ride fir now, and keeping some buy money aside for the next correction.

The correct answer is: No, trading is not predictable and should be only left to REAL EXPERTS, because the only way you could sanely do trading is activating multiples actions which require a deeeeeeeep (notes how many e) knowledge. What to do ? Hold your bitcoin, work, grow your stack, and borrow against it to have some liquidity if you don’t have any. A valid option should be get a job also in McDonald’s or Burger King and use that money to live instead selling a pristine asset like bitcoin. You’re theoretically correct in that if you scanned the private key and passphrase you would be revealing both contents to an external device, BUT likewise, whenever you use your ledger device, you have to connect it via usb to another device leaving it vulnerable to malware. So the real crux is that your external device’s security must be validated and proven, rather than the integrity of the Ballet Wallet/Ledger itself. And that’s only if you’re planning on withdrawing crypto, because depositing into the Ballet Wallet itself does not expose any private key or passphrase, you only need to expose those components when you want to withdraw and/or transact. You’re correct in that the ballet wallet “REAL” series has no additional ‘protective’ measures, so anyone can pick one up and use it, but that’s how they’re designed purposefully. What that also means is; - it’s great for inheritance (if someone suddenly passed with a wealth of crypto, but locked in a ledger, how would their family or loved ones have access? They don’t) - Extremely easy to use (no need to memorize a password) And Ballet still has a custom passphrase version if you did actually want to enable that feature on your wallet, I believe it’s the “PRO series” The best answer I can give is that even after $350,000,000 assets locked in cold storage using ballet wallets, there’s never been a leak or data breach as far as anyone has heard or reported on any outlet. Besides ledgers aren’t even waterproof :p hahaha But great points dude honestly I was really interested in this wallet, you did your hw and your critiques helped me I think find the biggest weaknesses, and I’m okay with them tbh. In my opinion, the stock market is going to crash REAL hard. I mean a BIG dump. The U.S. dollar has a direct inverse correlation with the crypto market. Dollar goes up, crypto goes down, dollar goes down...crypto up, you get the picture. Inflation is a giant problem and no one really likes to talk about it. The one's paying close attention are trying to warn everyone, only to be met with stubbornness and denial. When we get our massive bull cycle peak/ blow-off top, it will be glorious for us. But also bittersweet because it would mean many regular working people who haven't hedged their bets against inflation are going to feel pain. I'm feeling like this is coming by EOY. The only other coin I find offers REAL utility and use case is XMR. BTC and XMR have real application. XMR however is risky in sense big government dislikes it. So xmr is a bigger gamble. Tokenomics don't necessarily outweigh the irrational exuberance of markets. That's a hard pill to swallow for pseudo-experts in this space that relentlessly regurgitate shallow talking points they've adopted from YouTube / Reddit. YouTuber's like Guy and countless others may understand the basics about this technology or create the illusion that they do but they lack a nuanced understanding of this market. In short, they jump from one bandwagon to the next, only after each asset has become widely accepted by the community and crypto inteligencia. In other words, they are only investing in the assets they see other REAL experts approving of. They are incapable of drawing their own conclusions and getting in early because they don't truly get it. One of the biggest face palms I've personally seen was someone arguing that it actually makes sense to invest in Doge and SHIB but later said that people should avoid ALGO because of the tokenomics. It blew my mind. The truth is, there's a lot of bitter dopes out there that are mad that they didn't buy into ALGO earlier and don't want it to succeed because of that. It's as simple as that.

After hodling since 2017 and seeing all my gains wiped out in 2018 (to the point where some of them were down from their peak by 98%, and I'm not talking shitcoins here), I started experimenting with profit taking in March this year, when I was up about 5x to 10x. I sell about 10% at a time (give or take). For example: VET: Sold 10% at 0.15, 0.2, 0.25 ETH: Sold 10% at 2k, 3k, 4k. ADA: Sold 10% at 1.6, 2, 2.4, 2.8. BTC: Sold 5% at 50k, 60k (sold a lower % of BTC because it's less volatile than alts.). Most of these profits were taken before the big crash a few months back and I was able to reinvest my profits into the above coins at a much lower price. But I'm not even attempting to time the peak. I'm just taking a little bit of profit all the way up to the top. When the REAL bear market hits (as opposed to the correction we saw a month or so ago) personally I expect to see some real low prices (ADA under a dollar, ETH under 2k, BTC perhaps as low as 30k) and I can actually look forward to those prices with some profits in the bank to reinvest

Any negative posts you see towards Hedera is from someone who hasn't looked into it and are already heavily invested into something else, and they'relikely just showing their tribalism. If you look into it, I don't know how you can't put money into it. Watch Hedera's Town hall videos on their YouTube channel, as those are the best way to get to know the founders and Hedera. It's an impressive project, and like someone else has mentioned: THEYVE DONE MORE REAL USE CASE TRANSACTIONS THAN THE TOP 10 COMBINED. As much as you worry about bugs or malware affecting your hardware wallets, any breach is likely YOUR fault. Here are some tips: Hardware wallets don't protect hodlers as much as they protect your keys while you USE bitcoin. That said, if you aren't using the coin any time soon, it is still worth getting one so it will be easier to use in the future when you DO use Bitcoin, and also it is useful for generating trustworthy keys as opposed to some online site or a mobile wallet generating keys for you. Multi-Sigs are great to learn, but as much as they reduce the risk associated with trusting one wallet provider, they also increase the time and effort needed to spend Bitcoin. This inadvertently can make it easier to make mistakes that might lead to theft, but more likely, just losses as you end up losing the keys. The less you use the private keys, the less likely you are to leak it. If you are hodling, generate a wallet offline, back it up, generate an XPUB file (this allows mobile wallets to generate receiving addresses) and then wipe the hardware wallet and lock away your backup(s). If you are going to set up a multi-sig, make sure your backups have everything needed to recover including the keys, and the instructions on how to load a wallet from these keys. Practice creating wallets, destroying and recovering them multiple times before making your REAL wallet so you are comfortable with it. There is no perfect solution. Discard that out of your mind. Even a hardware wallet solution requires you to have written down backups, and most hardware wallets need physical access to be hacked... The ColdCard for example has no battery, so locked in a safe, it is basically not hackable. The chances that you have one that is sending your keys back to some server, or that it is rigged to give known keys, is something you can reduce by buying directly from supplier and following the tamper verification steps they have on the website. Multi-sigs are better for multi-party setups than for single party complex setups. My honest opinion: you're more likely to lose your Bitcoin by trying multi-sig setups. Focus on having one key and protecting it well. Also focus on inheritance, making sure that you don't rely on ANY memory (i.e. don't mix up the words and expect to remember how you shuffled it), and include instructions to make your backup as useful to your future self or your children as useful as possible. Focus more on what YOUR risks are: nosy neighbours, gangs, fires, floods, are you really James Bond? And optimise your security to protect against that instead of trying to protect against everything.
