As you get older, you'll surely increase your savings rate, but start immediately with a weekly savings, auto transfered into a Schwab account in a ROTH IRA and swept into an index to start. If you do that, the $3.8 is completly tax free! You pull 4% to 5% per year, never diminish your principle and you'll have an annual income of $152-190k per year, TAX FREE.You're doing fine, just don't give up and don't blame the US. The US is also one of the few countries that you can absolutely turn your woes into wins. I can't possibly tell enough people your age that time is your SUPER POWER and each year you delay is super costly. If you wait just one year (Your first year is your biggest growth year in the future) that 3.8 mil at retirement is reduced by ~$350,000. That's the cost of delaying just one year. And they tossed around this broad thing about “yeah, they might have the capability to make the bomb again, we don’t know when, it could be 6 months, or 4 years.” Now, since December, there have been the protests, and the reprisals. That set in motion this omnipresent kind of thought that assets are building up in the region, and “possible strikes” became a word. Intermingled were “talks.” Both have come very rapidly. It makes you think we have this massive arm that can just sweep away a little pest. As of two weeks ago, the introduction of “iran must not possess a nuclear weapon” got reintroduced. And today, the ABC news bulletin said Iran is building out for a bomb in a week. A WEEK. Couldn’t they have told us, you know, two weeks ago? Three weeks ago?

Real honest to God question: Are the people/entities madly continuing to buy gold and silver at these levels every day for weeks just absolutely certain it's going up forever, or at least not going to see a monumental crash (and that like the USD will literally never recover)? I feel paralyzed on it (I own zero of either FWIW), I can't imagine buying in now looking at the charts, but at the same time I said the same thing when gold was 10% lower A FUCKING WEEK AGO (let alone the retardation in silver). So I just don't know what to do. For the record I have multiple 7 figures in cash I need to deploy somewhere soon because it's getting absolutely bodied by devaluation and the lower MM rates at this point. And yes I have lots of other investments but for some reason unknown to me I just never bothered with metals.

I wouldn’t even bother with treasury bonds. There are plenty of ETFs that are basket of short or medium duration bonds that pay you monthly dividends without the hassle. SHY, SGOV, BOXX(1-3 month but reinvests the dividends back into the fund), WEEK are all good options
