Had a similar moment where it turned out to not be true with "Kick" token. it was a 2017 ICO, trying to be a "kickstarter' of the crypto world. Fine concept, poor execution, and the ICO craze can't stick around forever, especially with poor follow through from many (similar problems as kickstarter) One of my ICOs that I figured I'd let ride high or die. Bull market hits, most new cryptos down, kick economy never took off, forget about it. Next bull run I look at my eth wallet it was in and instead of like the 40,000 or whatever it's 1,040,000 and I'm like "uhhhh ok?" and I check the website, and it's now basically just an exchange. But apparently they loaded up some random people with that 1,000,000 KICK as a way to drum up business for their new exchange. But you had to "unfreeze" them, and the fact that they created all these KICK meant that my original 40,000 KICK were worthless (great way to treat original investors!), and the million KICK converted into their new exchange token would have barely covered the astronomical ETH fees of the last year. ($50, c'mon eth 2.0 now or never) So i never bothered to 'unfreeze' the million just to break even on eth fees. Then coinmarketcap a few days ago shows trending "Kick \[old\]" up 14901052050% (don't remember the real number but it was stupid high, millions %) and I went "oh shit" - checked the website - they have a "new" Kick token (either a swap or just a new use for their KICK token) but are no longer unfreezing the million. Shoot. Not an overnight millionaire. BUT at least now my original ICO investment is worth more than the pennies it was worth after they flooded the market and completely changed business models. I'm all for more exchanges though, especially more decentralized exchanges and no KYC exchanges, and we have a need of KYC exchanges and regulated exchanges in different markets too, I suppose.

Just te b very clear about this again: **If you have KICK tokens in your wallet (likely 88888 of them) and you see that they have quite some value on uniswap (or another DEX), be warned: You cannot exchange them. I tried to make a post about this but I don't have the minimum comment karma. Over 1 year ago I received 888,888 KICK tokens in my ETH wallet. I never signed up for anything but got the airdrop anyways. I get some random coin airdrops sometimes and they're usually worthless or worth less than the ETH transaction fees I would have to pay to move them. The other day I'm taking a look at my balances and notice these KICK tokens are worth over $500. I have never even heard of this project before, not sure if it's worth holding on to. Has anyone heard of them? What do you all think? If I was to sell them they are listed on their own exchange KickEx, which requires KYC and HitBTC which doesn't require KYC but many of the reviews I see about them are horrible. Should I hodl something I know nothing about or should I try to sell them on HitBTC? What would you guys do?
