No way. Never knew what I had, as I was buying during the 2017 rally. Put it all into DRGN. Take a gander at that sometime. I'm still buying to this day (BTC). I think we're due for another rally soon.

Invested in many successful ICOs in 2017, the best one being Dragonchain (DRGN). Even tho it completely failed by now, I bought $10,000 worth of coins @$0.03 and sold at $5. Fully retired in 2018, been travelling the world since. Just bought two properties worth over $1m in Dubai this year that I plan on putting in Airbnb.

I had 5 btc last bull market. Started with 1000$ and did two or three 1000x (on DRGN, XVG and RAIBLOX which became nano. I knew shit and didn't care about investing or saving or even about money at all tbh. Cashed enough not to be hung out about it, but i wasted the majority of it buying small amounts of drugs for something that would be worth to much to bother thinking about today. And this time around I got fucked by the government and been having to live on crypto for over a year without a single coin from them even tho i am on sick leave. I nailed cake, and then half a year later avax, luna, and sol. Sold them all just to get by so no skill involved there. You will get back man :) Me just before i left work burnt out: i will sell these 90k matic saving just 10k because i felt i didn't have time to following a bunch of coins. And yeah that feels worse than the thousands of eth fees buying ipo shitcoins or even losing money on 56% apy for months on a 3k lock (to stake). Short and to the point....

I'm kinda surprised there's not more dragon themed crypto stuff. No shade intended, but I get the sense that alot of crypto bros are *really* into dragons.. hell I might be a little myself, at least to the point I wouldn't mind owning $DRGN (not sure if thats a thing, it could be)

The first thing that came to mind. I wouldn't buy garbage altcoins like AION DRGN STEEM FCT and other crap from top 100, I would focus on BTC/ETH, I wouldn't store coins on exchanges (hi craptopia) and I would stop trying to time the market and stop trying to outsmart the market.
I was in DRGN quite some time too! Sold well before the downfall. There was not a particular reason why they flopped right? It just went silent from what I know. Correct?

I have bags of BERRY (rentberry), LUC (level up coin), SPN (sapien), BTRM (Betereum), DRGN (Dragonchain), POT (Potcoin), and MAX (max coin) and EDGE (Edgeless). Most from ICOs. I keep them as badges of dishonour in my folio to remind me not to invest in shitcoins.
Oh right, that's why I got DRGN. When I returned to crypto last year that was the biggest headscratcher and most egregious no research purchase. Still definitely a sign of the hype of the times

Easily most bullish on VET, so many good things happening, lots of use cases. It really feels promising. My biggest bear? Either TKY, or DRGN, no real news, terrible performance in general, both fails from what I can see.

I disagree. Back in 2017 I bought some alt coins that included Vechain, Enjin, Raiblocks (Nano), Request Network, and DragonChain. The last two, REQ and DRGN, haven't come close to recovering from the 2018 crash. While the other 3 have been doing quite well in comparison.
WaBi, Oyster pearl, and PHX were some others that were often mentioned back in 2017. I was surprised to recently see the Request team still working on the project. I'm still bagholding whatever is left from the $100 I threw at NEO, REQ, DRGN, IOTA, and DBC back in the day. Probably not even $100 all together right now.

Your comment made me deep dive a bit on their videos and GitHub updates, I do agree we are either missing something obvious or this has to be the greatest missed opportunity ever, even with all the hate DRGN gets including its own subreddit at a market cap of $106m compared to $49b for a project that doesn't even have legs like Doge this has basically no risk and unlimited upside potential
Dragonchain DRGN and honestly it shouldn’t be close. You can make an argument they are doing more than any other platform at the moment. They have actual customers, more transactions, more scalability, more security, than any current product or white paper promise.

XBY (DEAD), LUX (DEADER), AION is on there because they did main-net conversion... so old coins are on the wallet and I can't move them but new ones are on the exchange... DRGN is on the wallet because it's pointless to move them until they become somewhat more valuable. That was a $50K bag that is now worth right around $2K... so WOOOOHOOOO
A couple of them were. Dragonchain DRGN used to be the “next big thing”, created by a Disney engineer or something. Nebulas NAS might have even been top 50. I think I spent 2 ETH for the GAT ICO. That still stings.

Yeah, I've done that last bull run... I have a $50K bag of XBY, LUX, AION, DRGN, and few others. My strategy has changed since then... I will be exiting all of my alt positions at the end of this bull run and will be sitting out until I am ready to re-enter the market.
I bought several pretty infamous ICOs in 2017 knowing they would most likely pumpndump which is exactly what happened, mothership MSP and dragonchain DRGN gave the biggest gains if I remember correctly.
I lost several thousand DRGN when Coss made changes to their exchange. I bought them at the height of the 2017 run and figured I'd just hold until it started coming back up so I wasn't checking regularly and when I logged in last year they let me know that they were all but gone. Lesson learned.
I'm keeping a close eye on DRGN, looks ready to pop.

Honestly, I don't think that the project can survive without the token. There are a handful of exceptions that prove the rule but for the most part the token economy is the direct reflection of the investor engagement and if the investors are not engaged there's a reason. Now, one of my favorite projects $DRGN, went dormant during the bear market, but they have been busy and they are doing some great work. So that one is very much the exception that proves the rule. If the token is pumping, and I don't see the value in it from the project side... I don't invest in it so in my case, and in the case of the guidelines I've outlined in the post, it really doesn't matter. I used to fomo into pumping coins but by actually vetting the whole thing I am finding that the token doesn't matter because the project is good.

They've been consistent with their updates on YouTube, just not many viewers. I think the market just hasn't noticed how much value DRGN has so I wanted to sum it all up.
I recently did the same for all 2017 bags. Bought some more to drive my average price down for coins where the (dev) teams kept working during the last few years: VET, NANO, and REQ. Didn't dive too deep into others but I got some bad early 2018 vibes from seeing DBC, DRGN and WABI surge as well. Altcoin season, I guess. I wonder when the turning point for this rally will be. It hurt when I was reminded of Oyster (PRL), which was one of Reddit's favorites back in 2017.
The thing that sucks are the gas fees are entry barriers for newbs who want alts that can blow back up. I'd just go ETH if that's all I had, but I mean you can look at ATHs on some that are great buys now like: DRGN, CND, ZEC..or you could just go ENJIN, OMI or DOT
I lost a decent bag of DRGN to coss when they changed their platform entirely without notifying anyone that they needed to pull their tokens off the exchange. Definitely learned my lesson about leaving tokens on exchanges but it's a painful lesson to learn.
Haven't heard anything about DRGN since like 2018. The link to Disney had me bullish. I'll have to look in to whats been going on with it recently.
Bought in Jan 2018, got back into it a few months ago. Almost all my alts are completely dead: AMB, REQ, TEL, DRGN, WTC. But 2 of the survivors have just tipped themselves intro profit compared to when I bought them: XLM and VET. Lesson is who knows I'll keep buying random shitcoins after reading Reddit comments

Yup! I remember. They did indeed start off as a private chain within Disney. They've come a long way, and most recently rumors around government contracts with DRGN have come up.
