I had an $AMB Atlas node in the last bull run which made $800/month. Alas the program was discontinued and AirDAO does only staking now. I've been looking for a node to generate passive income but either they are to expensive (TRAC) or it's not really worth it (most others). So if you know a profitable node, I'm all ears.

Hello! I usually post around this time each year to update you all about my personal crypto project. About 5 years ago now, I began "crypto for the homeless" which was a for fun project I created to crowd fund crypto and to feed/provide some relief for the needy world-wide. It was not meant to be a solution for homelessness, but more-so a proof of concept demonstrating that a single person could create scalable change for the homeless/needy and to perhaps inspire others to do the same. onto the progress we've made: Since inception, we have now been operating consistently for 5 years, added a good amount of members to the team, and improved/refined our entire operation many times. We have official 501c3 status (nonprofit status) We've had our website rebuilt into what it is today (cryptoforthehomeless.com) and added as many social media accounts as we could comfortably manage (fb/twitter/x/ig/tiktok/youtube/reddit). So far, we've distributed close to 10,000 meals now (All HAND delivered to the homeless/needy directly) and every single one has been photographed/documented. https://i.imgur.com/ln8DyiX.jpg this is an example of one of our volunteer groups just from this year alone. We are proud to say that we have worked with a lot of individual volunteers as well as official volunteer groups consistently over the years and continue to foster relationships with them to make this whole operation expand/scale up. Last year, my goal was to get some exposure through podcasts/videos/publications and succeeded. You can find us on apple music/spotify if you search for crypto for the homeless. In addition, we also got interviewed by 2 popular crypto website (AMB crypto and coin telegraph) https://cointelegraph.com/news/pennsylvania-pharmacist-feeds-thousands-of-homeless-using-crypto https://ambcrypto.com/from-crypto-to-community-how-volunteers-are-using-cryptos-to-aid-the-homeless/ This year, my goal was to obtain sponsorship/relationships with other websites/developers to further enhance our operations/exposure. So far, we've received google nonprofit status, and link exchanged with various crypto websites. Also, the developer of a popular ios app - strongbox sponsored us! As 2024 rolls in, I can see that we have a pretty good sustainable operation that can continue to grow. I would like to focus on adding more team members for social media purposes. Thanks for everything, and it was only possible because of you! (reddit is where we began)

Here is the announcement from AWS: [https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/database/aws-expands-amazon-managed-blockchain-with-access-and-query/](https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/database/aws-expands-amazon-managed-blockchain-with-access-and-query/) And here are cited example use cases of this new feature "AMB Access and Query": >Use cases As foundational components, AMB Access and Query can help developers with every public blockchain use case. The following are two examples: Custodians and wallets – These applications can be considered the Web3 equivalent of traditional banking applications. Users of these applications expect similar experiences to their traditional banking applications, such as having their current and historical balances as well as transactions available at their fingertips. Regardless of whether they are centralized and operated by licensed operators or decentralized and self-managed by individual consumers, these applications serve the same basic purposes to store and transfer cryptocurrencies. While developers would still have to manage their own security to store cryptocurrencies, developers can have their applications interact with the blockchain RPCs through AMB Access so to transfer cryptocurrencies and read data from the blockchain quickly with AMB Query to display in the application. Consumer engagement – The use of NFTs as a way to connect and increase engagement with consumers by enterprises such as Nike and Starbucks continues to grow. These NFTs serve as gating tokens that unlock exclusive benefits for the holders (such as access to real-world events), which can be used to incentivize specific actions (such as purchasing physical goods), and increase collaboration across brands (such as unlocking in-game digital goods from a popular brand). To enable these actions, applications must create, manage, and transfer NFTs using the RPCs on AMB Access, as well as quickly check ownership information with AMB Query. For example, to unlock an exclusive NFT for high-value customers, an application may need to check user wallets for ownership of an existing NFT issued on Ethereum and have holdings of greater than 1 BTC on Bitcoin. “Amazon Managed Blockchain Access and Query provide friction-free access to blockchain networks and their data so developers can easily create their Web3 applications,” said Saman Michael Far, VP of Financial Services Technology, AWS. “I expect this easy to incorporate functionality will enable new mainstream applications ranging from interacting with digital assets to creating new ways of engagement consumers and their brands.” Is it groundbreaking? Not sure on that one.

Yes for me. There is a great potential for web3 or blockchain-based applications to place in future as some firms/businesses are already utilizing it. Actually, IBM is one of the most prominent companies to prioritize blockchain in its future business model. How it's using blockchain: Microsoft's Azure platform is helping to establish blockchain in companies across a variety of sectors. There is also a filed patent shows that Apple is aiming at improving system security by using blockchain technology to verify the authenticity of timestamps. This could help to protect critical data on SIM cards or SD cards. Also Amazon is using their Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) to set up our Hyperledger Fabric network. This enables their customers to track products on the blockchain from the farm all the way through to consumption. Other notable corporations active in the blockchain inv estment space include Google parent company Alphabet, and financial institutions including BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs. Thanks I've known Telos Network earlier. They are one of the good blockchains who embrace web3 projects. They are quite young (launched in 2018) but really working hard in the blockchain industry and now able to develop over hundreds of applications. Check it more at telos (dot) net for more info.

AMB is my little shitcoin that could that I've had a love/hate relationship with. I've been running nodes since day 1and DCA'd hard those first couple years and slowly it's done really well for me and is all house money now. LGCY I got in at pre-sale and it's long paid for itself a dozen times over. GLMR I actually just recently picked up on this dip just for a staking yolo play. Seems to be a lot of downward pressure on it. All that said, my portfolio is 50% TRAC.

False. Amazon Managed Blockchain is decentralized. Stating AWS going down eradicates those projects built on AMB is no different than stating any given ISP going down harms them. If your service relies on some other service to be up, that isn't decentralized. Just because some shitball service claims they're decentralized means nothing. When AWS went down in december it took out barely anything crypto related except services that do not claim to be decentralized and those that refer to one aspect of their app as decentralized while others are fully centralized. "NFTs" wouldn't stop working if AWS went down, like you claim below. So yes, all non-decentralized apps would stop working. Obviously. Dark winter? Nah. BTW the solution isn't pure decentralization, but a series of centralized fallbacks. Notorious websites have used that method for years.

Big 4 of RFID blockchain back in 2017: VeChain (VET), Waltonchain (WTC), WABI, and Ambrosus (AMB) I loved the potential of this use case and all 4 projects were promising. Put about $1000 in each using profits from TRX. Sold all 4 last year for tax loss harvesting, I believe I lost over 90% on these. RFID blockchain projects just didn’t gain as much traction as I’d hoped, and I really liked what I was seeing in the Ethereum ecosystem, so I cut my losses and moved on

This time is a bit different i think. People from 2018 are still around and many have that fresh in mind. So i don't think we will drop as low as we did then, but we are going down for sure. 30k thereabouts is my guess since many are looking to load up their bags. If you haven't already sold, you might as well hold. I held through 2018 and at it's peak in 2018 i was 2x my initial investment then. In 2021 at my peak i was 12x my initial investment, and this is with half my portfolio virtually dying(AMB, PRL, IOTX, ICX) never to recover. If you hold solid projects, it will eventually bounce back. Might be one year, three years, five years, but it will probably bounce back.

bald11x - naaah, I put 200$ at the beginning of the year as my first crypto. big gain so far. but that's it, since then follow simple rules - diversification on non-memes. VET, BTT (even better gains than Doge), ETH, BTC, ADA, HOT, OMG, AMB and ANKR so far.

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

My strongest advice is to DCA instead of throwing it in all at once. If we're near a peak that could really hurt you in the long run if you bought now. Next advice is to buy for the long term. DO NOT TRADE. If for no other reason than taxes. If you hold for 1 year or longer (assuming you're in the US), you pay far less in taxes on gains. No taxes under $40k in long term gains, in fact. But also because most people lose out when trading. Even if you see gains, you're likely to see lower gains than if you hold. Next advice is to stake anything that can be staked. Even non-staking coins like btc can be staked on apps like celsius. Compounding interest is very powerful over the long term! Now, as for which coins to buy. That's a debate no one will ever agree on fully. My advice is to diversify, but not too much. I think around 10 coins is probably optimal, although it is fun to put a little money on some real moonshot type new coins in addition. Spread them across different sectors. Coins like btc are a store of value. Coins like stellar and Nano are primarily payment platforms. Eth, ADA, ONE, etc. are primarily smart contract platforms (which IMO are the most important sector and the one that has the most room to grow). VET, TRAC, AMB, etc. are supply chain cryptos which already are being used heavily in industry. Monero and Pirate Chain are privacy coins - basically currency that no one can see that you're using (be careful as these are more likely to get banned from exchanges and by governments, but they also have a strong demand for the same reasons they get banned). Then there are memecoins, which we all know can outperform any sort of logical expectations. There's DeFi stuff like UNI and LINK. NFTs, and NFT platforms. Gaming coins. Reward and governance coins (like reddit moons). What I like to do is think about which of these spaces are likely to have a lot of long term growth potential, then invest in a 2-3 coins in those spaces. I like to get something big that is ahead of the game (like VET with supply chain coins) that is kind of a sure thing because of first mover status, but also something with a small market cap (like TRAC with supply chain coins) that has a lot more room to explode. You could really choose 2-3 coins in each space and be diversified across the entire crypto economy, and that would essentially be like creating your own crypto mutual fund. Which is not a bad idea but I like to think that I can up my gains by mainly investing in sectors and specific coins that my research suggests have more potential than others. So far though, I'm not very good at making predictions. I did not see DOGE or BNB being in the top 5 for sure! But rest assured that if you pick coins with good fundamentals and DCA, you'll almost surely come out well ahead in the long run. Crypto is still just starting to see mass adoption and the ceiling is still way, way above us. You're still relatively early.

Walton was epic. If my kids ask me about crypto when they are older I'll tell them all about my experiences with Walton For me the best was when they showed pictures of their office space. Then about a month later one of their "childchains" (I believe it was called Freyrchain) showed pictures of their office. Someone did a side-by-side comparison of the office pics and it was the exact same office with the logos switched. I think an indoor plant was also moved...LOL. Just made it so clear that this "company" was super amateur, if not just an outright scam. Maybe they started with an idea, got huge investment from ICO, then realized....shit we don't know what to do now. Similar story with AMB where the "CEO" probably thought it was a good idea at first, but realized it was only ever an idea. Nothing of substance, but still got huge investment. I hope some day there is a behind the scenes Netflix documentary showing what was actually happening with some of these "companies". All the Maidsafe I held were on Cryptopia. Oh well... Swaps from ERC20 to a mainnet/other chain are relatively common in the space so you could ask around for experiences from other developers. VET and AMB for example did this and TRAC recently added the xDAI-chain and will add another (DOT based if I recall right) chain in summer. So TRAC runs on multiple chains without changing the maximal supply. This works with Omnibridge, where you can swap tokens from ETH to xDai and vice versa. The ERC20 TRAC are locked and new ones on xDai are created. I'm not sure I'd recommend ETH at the moment because of the fees, so maybe check out other possible blockchains before you commit to a chain that is not as usable (atm) as you might like/need.

ADA has had an historic gain this year and still hasn't delivered on smart contracts. Its price is wildly inflated. AMB and REQ might be good in the short term, but I don't think they've changed enough to survive a second market cycle.

ADA: Overvalued ghost chain built on hopium and promises (house of cards) XLM: Good use case, decent, but there are certainly better opportunities right now AMB: Never heard of it until you mention it. #873 in market cap. Insanely high risk REQ: basically same reason as AMB
