You will go to jail and pay massive fines if you do this. You will be violating KYC, AML and the Bank Secrecy Act (if you are in the US) and the bank you are using will absolutely report you for this type of activity because they legally have to. You would need to register as a money service business and keep detailed records for years for every single activity you did. If you're in Montana which doesn't require an MTL, you are still subject to all of the Federal laws related to this and won't be able to bypass them. I do not recommend doing this under any circumstances. Source - US based Compliance in banking/crypto.

Different projects with different roles. ACH is a communist influenced cryptocurrency project that will not make it very far in the USA with US regulations. AMP Token/Flexa Network was created by current PoS networks like NCR and Blackhawk to solve many problems plaguing transactions today (fraud, expensive, limited to one currency, etc). Flexa almost has a MTL in every single State in the USA. Flexa also handles the majority of all crypto and Bitcoin transactions in El Salvador. Europe is coming soon. Today, I can go to Chipotle or Petco, amongst other merchants, and spend just about whatever asset I want (frictionless, fraud proof, instant, less than 1% transaction fee) Once the USA has clear government regulations in place, the Flexa Network (collateralized by AMP) will take on all of NCR, Blackhawk, amongst many other PoS networks merchants (from Walmart to Amazon) The team behind ACH are not NASA rocket scientists like the team behind Flexa/AMP, nor is their legal/regulatory safety on par.

The use case is fantastic and they have more MTL's than anyone I've seen. Not to mention they've partnered with nearly every POS maker there is. $AMP is already live in El Salvador, Brazil and others, @flexa already powers Lightning payments too. @Ampera audits are done now too, we are about to see some major fireworks.

tldr; The article discusses the recent performance of ApeCoin (APE) and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs. APE has experienced a significant decline of 42% in the last month and has reached a new all-time low. The BAYC NFTs have also seen a decrease in price but have rebounded slightly. Yuga Labs, the creator of BAYC, has announced a new launch date for their HV-MTL: Rift game. The game invites the Bored Ape community to forge machines and participate in duels to win prizes. Despite the launch of the game, the associated NFT collection's floor price has decreased. Overall, APE and BAYC have been affected by the volatility of the crypto and NFT markets. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. Yes, and it will be more valuable, at least in USD, then it is now. Whether it gains in ETH, that seems more uncertain but I'd still say it's likely with another frothy bullrun. You can't take BAYC at face value (literally and figuratively lol), because Yuga has tons of funding to build out more value, Otherside/APE/MAYC/BAKC/HV-MTL/Cryptopunks/Meebits/etc. They are in charge of the 2 of the biggests NFT-native IP's and have millions of dollars to support it (funded with half a billy at a $4b valuation in 2022), they'd have to fumble the bag pretty hard for BAYC to not make a comeback.

>I would have completed a transaction like that without giving it a second thought. You would have completed a transaction after the person buying bitcoin from you told you that the cash they are using to buy your bitcoin was obtained illegally or that they will be using the bitcoin in the commission of a crime? Because that's what the undercover agents do in all of these cases. If you complete the transaction after the undercover agent informs you that the cash they are using to buy your bitcoin was obtained illegally or that they will be using the bitcoin in the commission of a crime, then you have committed a crime. In every single case like this that I've read about in the US, one or more of the following applies 1) the undercover agent told the bitcoin seller that the cash they are using to buy bitcoin was obtained illegally. 2) the undercover agent told the bitcoin seller that the bitcoin they are buying will be used in the commission of a crime. 3) the bitcoin seller was involved in some type of crime like purposely laundering proceeds of crime, selling drugs, or fraud. If any of those three apply, then the bitcoin seller is committing a crime and can be arrested and prosecuted. >What is the threshold for requiring those things? If you are only selling some of your own personal bitcoin and you're not charging the bitcoin buyer a fee, then it technically doesn't matter how much you sell. But I doubt that you would want to accidentally sell a large amount of your own personal bitcoin to an undercover agent and then have to go to court and have your lawyer argue that you're not selling bitcoin as a business. It really has to be your own personal bitcoin for you to be able to legally sell bitcoin to someone in the US without an MTL and MSB license. You can't buy bitcoin from an exchange for the purpose of reselling it to someone else because then you're acting as a business and you would need a money service business license and a money transmitter license. Selling some of your own personal bitcoin to someone else is like selling some of your own personal gold to someone else. Both are legal. If you're selling gold to people as a business, then there are licenses that you need to obtain. If you're selling bitcoin to people as a business, then there are licenses that you need to obtain. You should not be charging a fee when you sell some of your own personal bitcoin to someone. If you're charging a fee, then a prosecutor can say that you're selling bitcoin as a business. If you sell more than $10,000 worth of bitcoin to someone in the US within a 24 hour period, then you need to file a Form 8300 with the IRS within 15 days. If I were to sell some of my own personal bitcoin to someone in the US, I would not sell more than $2,999 to a single person within a 24 hour period and I would not charge the buyer a fee. I would use one of the big local exchanges to determine the current market value of the bitcoin at the time of the sale and that's what I would charge the buyer. >Is bisq different than localbitcoins in that regard? No difference. The same laws apply.

The person you replied to spammed that exact comment in 12 threads in 6 hours but they aren't telling the full story. His friend wouldn't have been charged and convicted of laundering money unless the undercover agent told his friend that the money he was using to buy bitcoin was obtained illegally, or the undercover agent told your friend that the bitcoin he was buying from his friend will be used for crime, or the bitcoin his friend was selling was proceeds of crime. I've followed dozens of cases like this and the undercover agent always tells the bitcoin seller that the money is proceeds of crime or the bitcoin will be used for crime. I've seen cases where the undercover agent told the bitcoin seller that the money they are using to buy bitcoin was obtained by selling narcotics, obtained by committing fraud, or obtained by prostitution. I've also seen cases where the undercover agent told the bitcoin seller that the bitcoin they are buying will be used to transfer crime proceeds overseas, buy drugs, buy stolen credit cards, and buy stolen bank accounts. >They said it was money laundering That's not money laundering. Selling bitcoin as a business without a MTL license is a violation of section 1960 of Title 18 U.S. Code - Prohibition of unlicensed money transmitting businesses. That is not money laundering. Just so people here are aware, selling some of your own personal bitcoin to other people (not as a business) is not illegal in the US.

I’ve been using Metal Pay. The fee’s are typically 0%-1%. It’s not available everywhere yet, but has been a fantastic in and off ramp for me. Here’s a brief quote from one of their blog posts. “Metal Pay has some of the most competitive fees across the cryptocurrency industry – not only is BTC, TUSD, MTL, and XPR available on Metal Pay for 0% fees, but all other cryptocurrencies start at 1% fees for every transaction. The fees you pay decrease by holding more MTL in your Metal Pay wallet, with users unlocking 0% fees for all transactions once they hit 10,000 MTL in their account. Additionally, every Metal Pay Cash wallet is FDIC-insured through our partner bank. Combined with the ability to set up a direct deposit, your Cash wallet is one of the most powerful tools to use in the crypto space. Whether you’re buying cryptocurrency with cash deposited into your Cash wallet, a linked debit card, or another cryptocurrency trading pair, growing your crypto stack is easy when you’re using Metal Pay.”

my experience is that crypto is way more straightforward and easier to catch a pump. i.e. LRC partnering with GME was something that people found out months before it was officially announced all I had to do was put some money and sell most of it after a decent profit. people starts to talking about metaverse? Zuckerberg also helped a lot for this one to pump. time to get some SAND, MANA and other metaverse coins (there were also rumours of them getting decent partners(i.e. Nike). MTL is the coin for Metal app. All they did was tweet "x euros sent" (meaning they are expanding to Europe) and there MTL goes 2x. easy money. ALGO world cup ad? time to stock up some more ALGO cuz its finally making some moves. Elon twitter rumor? or simply Elon tweets? time to make some quick cash(get out of this one fast tho since it happens in an instant) on any random doggo related coin. STEPN app looks interesting and they have Adidas CEO in their team? time to buy some GMT. major CEX listing a coin? time to buy some. of course I was able to find these things fast because I try to literally follow everything and I doubt everyone has that much time also having tighter stop limits as you get decent profit is a must.

MTL is the coin for Metal Pay app. They are branching out to Europe soon hence the pump in last few days. GMT is the token for STEPN but idk much about. I just know that they have a collab with asics and they are related to Adidas as well. AVAX is a decent buy if BTC pumps or stay where it is I'm sure it will go high. IDK about AXS though. It is too dependent on how their new game will go. It also doesn't help that they were hacked by North Korea which pretty much rules out any chance of getting their money back. But I am planning to invest a little bit on SLP after I sell some of the tokens I hold. Dunno about ANC. Good staking rates but dunno if people will stay with it when they eventually reduce their rates.

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

Niiice I've seen KNC and it doesn't stop. I'm just worried about buying at new highs personally but I love KAVA that's one I've been buying on the dip and not many people know about it yet imo I've seen some people post about it and they have some which is nice and AVAX has been stalling, AXS, and ANC lol. 3 I have most money in so I guess that's why I feel it's more boring 😂 I don't know much about MTL or GMT gonna have to look those up

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

Too many coins tbh but I am doing well so far. KNC is a beast that no one gives a fuck about (4 months in green and still going up). MTL and XPR have very good potential hence they get %40 of my portfolio, it's been a week and MTL was nothing but amazing so far. I bought some GMT getting on the hype and while it dropped right now I am still in so much green lol. LRC and ALGO have been pretty disappointing price-wise but I am expecting something from them in the long term. JASMY and LTO are other low market cap tokens that I threw some money at. Still waiting for them to do something. ZIL made me so much money that I just can't wrap around my head on what to invest and luckily everything I "heavily" invest in is pumping to the moon.

Well. Where do I start? As you can imagine there are a number of regulatory hurdles to overcome here, if we are to adapt in the global space. We already have partnerships with Visa and Mastercard that gives us global coverage. Although, what you have to look at and what we are doing as I type to you is mapping out the regions and what will be needed for each location and its regulators. We have already successfully gained our licence with the FCA in the UK. We have an Emoney licence in Europe and are working on the MTL's for the USA. Baanx wants to show the regulators how the traditional and decentralised finance spaces can work hand in hand. And we are seeing in recent years that governments are becoming more accepting. We aim to change the perception of DeFi and CeFi so that we are able to offer products like Crypto Draft and our Card programmes. We aim to change the way we lend and borrow money through “crypto drafts”. Unlike the long and often complicated process of traditional loans, crypto loans are quick, easy and do not require an abundance of information, such as your credit score or past bank statements. This is something Baanx wanted to offer, so we launched our Cryptodraft™service into our partners liked the Tezos Crypto Life platform - https://www.tezoscrypto.life/

A new finance bill lifts a ban on transacting in any alternative to the U.S. dollar in California, recognizing and allowing transacting in alternative currencies, including digital currencies such as bitcoin, at the legislative level." XPR has 0 fees and I believe if you use the metal pay app to do so you gain MTL as a reward. Metal pay is like Venmo but with a lot more crypto options. I haven’t gotten any friends to try it yet, but maybe you will find it useful.

You missed the fact omi wasnt ready to join the bullrun cause the company was a little too early back then. But nowadays they proved a lot and a lot is coming for the first quarter in the new year too which will help the progress of the OMI token. Check it out again, its still early. Migration to IMX almost complete, OMI utility and staking soon, MTL soon,..

Decred $DCR, Proton $XPR and Metal $MTL. Started with $25K~ in March 2020 with $DCR at $10~. Bought $MTL at $0.29 and Proton $XPR at $0.004~ with profits from $DCR @ $150~ MTL and XPR went up, at some point I was at $2M when proton touched $0.055~. Right now sitting at $650K.

Veve have obtained the MTL, still no cash out. Ask Oinky and s/he'll start telling you "it'll take time" or that "soon" Veve seem to be distracting everyone with drops. I keep my eye on these threads so I can laugh at the people who keep trying to tell the rest of us how wrong we are. So far the skeptics haven't been.

> I disagree Then you are sorely misinformed. > abusing those positions of power None of that works without regulation. There is no "position of power" without regulation. If needing all kinds of state MTL's and bit-licenses was eliminated, and KYC relaxed, coinbase would be out of business the next day, instantly replaced by low cost low fee no signup instant btc companies from a thousand different names. Regulation is the one and only way to build a moat to protect a bad business.

MTL is running on Proton, which runs LOAN, and is partnered with Railsbank. Sounds like Proton is the Trojan horse ripple is looking for as they are fully compliant in the US in Europe. LOAN goes live soon. It let’s you lend out or collateralize your entire wallet of coins. Without fees or gas. This one’s a doozy for the IMF

Thank you for your elaborate and kind reply, despite my initial rumbling. There's obviously a plethora of promising projects out there and of course: a common denominator of all of them is the banking the bankless etc, however the gambling on coins is also one. I witnessed the craze around IOTA from early 17 to late 19 (from claims around partnerships - every idiot can partner with namely companies - to integrations, open source, the dirty catfights amongst the core team etc) and it was a prime example of how a powerful few (devs, early vcs etc) created an artificial (and, to be fair looking back, based upon very few actual facts) hype and made a lot of money upon the backs of the many shills like we see in this thread too (not only on IOTA, on all of them). Accordingly I hope you can understand that I am very sceptic towards literally every coin besides eth and btc. Don't get me wrong, I'm well interested (possibly vested as well from back in the days, serious bags too) on many coins but I just feel like I can't leave some of the bold claims unanswered in this thread. I wish you and the majority of the participants all the best! (adding here, other coins that are super shady are for example MTL, was a hilarious story with VCs dumping on plebs after their kids didn't get an internship, all crashing down and now resurfacing with some DeFi claims - ugh, it's all just a moneygrab until proven otherwise. SOL sounds very similar although much more successful so far. wagmi)

I think initially it was airdropped to Metal (MTL) holders. Metallicus is the parent company and it's responsible for MTL, XPR and another token called LOAN. They're also going to launch a stable coin, Metal Dollar (XMD) Q4 2021. All one ecosystem.

There is no set dollar amount that bitcoin ATM operators in the US are allowed to sell without requiring ID. Some bitcoin ATMs in the US let you buy $2,000 or more worth of bitcoin without ID. For example, bitcoin ATMs operated by Athena allow customers buy $2,000 worth of bitcoin with just their name and phone number. There is varying levels of KYC. KYC can vary from as little as your name and phone number to as much as your home address, social security number, employment, and income. Bitcoin ATM operators in the United States need to register with FinCEN and have an AML compliance policy in place. State level regulation varies from state to state, and targets requirements to register for money transmitter license (MTL) or money service business (MSB). Most of the states will also require a surety bond to run bitcoin ATM machines. Operators need to keep track of records of transactions, conduct and collect identification information and also report information to agencies under particular circumstances. Apart from registering with FinCEN bitcoin ATM operator has to develop its own KYC/AML compliance policy. This document doesn’t need to be provided to FinCEN during registration, however it should be available on request. The main purpose of such a policy is to prevent your bitcoin machine being used to money laundering. AML program has to address the following items, also known as “4 pillars”: Define Policies, Procedures and Internal Controls. Incorporate policies, procedures and internal controls reasonably designed to assure compliance with the BSA and its implementing regulations. These policies need to address risk size expected by operator based on conditions and area of operation, various transaction monitoring and documenting techniques etc.; Dedicated Compliance Officer. Designate a person to assure day-to-day compliance with the program and the BSA and its implementing regulations. This should be a person with expertise in the field. Moreover, such an officer should have relative independence and authority within organization. This should be a person, who doesn’t obtain other functional roles, e.g. to eliminate conflict of interest, while limiting transaction due to prevention measures will potentially reduce revenue volume of operator; Employee Training. Provide education and training of appropriate personnel concerning their responsibilities under the program, including training in the detection of suspicious transactions, to the extent that the MSB is required to report such transactions under the BSA; Independent Audits. Provide for independent review to monitor and maintain an adequate program. This can be done by other employees / team in the organization, as well as by third-party consultancy service providers. Once the program and processes are implemented — it is recommended for operator to do full test of transactions flow and documenting all steps. Tests need to include checking of set thresholds and limits as well as all KYC verification procedures and tracking and documenting of customers data. Manufacturers of ATMs provide integrated solutions in their software. It is recommended to check with each provider what the implementation is, so that it cover needs of being compliant with law. On state level regulators have another requirement to register as money transmitter. This regulation varies from state to state, while some states being more relaxed, some are very strict in this regard. Proton is the Layer 1 blockchain that provides fast and fee-less transactions with xTokens, decentralized identity, swap, loan, market protocols. XPR the native token is used to stake/vote for BPs, purchase resources on the network, and register new accounts/domains. Metal (MTL) originally distributed through PoPP (proof of processed payment) is a blockchain agnostic token originally launched on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC20) and now migrated to the Proton blockchain through cross-chain bridge. Metal (XMT) is governance for Metal Dollar (XMD) a decentralized stablecoin, comprised of a basket of stablecoin currencies and managed by a DAO of XMT voters.

I’m confused, MTL is an ERC20 token on ethereum, how is this linked to Proton? And how is Proton related to EOS? All the “producers” have EOS in their name and the EOS logo appears all over the proton block explorer: proton.bloks.io It all seems very confusing to me, I don’t know how all these elements fit together, or why/what it’s USP is.

MTL, initially distributed through PoPP is evolving to encompass Metal Dollar (XMD), a decentralized stablecoin on the Proton blockchain. XMT (MTL on Proton) is the governance token which is used to determine: stablecoins allowed access to the pool, stablecoin allocation in the pool, entry/exit fee cost in XMT, and future features of Metal Dollar (XMD). XMD is equivalent 1:1 to any stablecoin in the basket can be moved fluidly between other stablecoin (ie USDT to USDC) this is similar to Curve Finance in some ways, but it is multichain through the xToken bridge and provides interest to a basket stablecoin XMD.

We've always had incredibly warm welcoming and passionate community members in XPR and MTL communities and there is a lot of cross-over. I think this spark started in Dogecoin where Glenn and I met. That ethos of Do Only Good Everday, lives on and I hope someday permeates all of crypto! I've loved seeing the Proton community grow tremendously over the past few weeks and seeing our longstanding members welcome in everyone with open arms. Community is everything in crypto, and we've got it in spades! In the spirit of our strong tribe, the upcoming marketing campaigns are heavily focused on utilizing the community and our ability to be louder as one voice!

Hey folks few questions for y'all, 1. Do you think most (big) banks will try to stop your efforts of bridging crypto and traditional banking if it starts to undermine their interests (not to mention it's still recognized as a commodity, and we have to pay capital gains when selling $MTL)? 2. During natural disasters when electricity is out, Metal and Proton wallets are almost useless, is there a way to still use cash/atm which will still be viable over any crypto.

Download the Proton Wallet or Metal Pay, Print a sign "Cryptocurrency accepted here! XPR, MTL, BTC and more" When someone approaches you and asks to checkout with crypto pull up your deposit QR code in Proton Wallet or Metal Pay. Check the blockchain for the transaction when the user sends it. Metal Pay will give you an instant notification on zero confirmations. Hopefully in the future we will see every major provider integrate xTokens so we can have lightning fast and fee-less transactions ⚡️

I second this question. It does seem that with XPR, MTL is not really that necessary, other than holding MTL on Metal Pay gets holders less fees. I don't see why XPR can't take that role over.
