SOP for BTC to drop before the halving

The stereotypical pattern doesn't show that it's a government work. Government work has (at least) the following stereotype as characteristics: - Set goal as target, usually within short time frame (given the election period is coming within 4 years) - Use law enforcement and mass media to rally support. - Clear SOP and detailed plan on how to achieve the goal.

You can send out from address one time. That's when pub key is revealed. It weekens the address against theoretical future threats. Receiving twice or more on same address is fine but is not recommended. Neither is this "send small first" stuff that's not SOP it's just extra paranoid. Mode. Sending to address will create new utxo in it.

SOP. Market moves, exchanges go down for maintenance. The SEC is needs to step in and shut all of these clown factories down. Every single exchange does this. If you don't have enough liquidity you shouldn't be allowed to run an exchange.

Agree with OP, you cannot steal customer money for providing fake id. You give them opportunity to provide correct id and if any suspicious activity raise SAR to relavent authority. The funds can by withheld only if any government agency gives authority to do so. Would recommend caution dealing with any organization who does not have proper kyc process in place and does not even know SOP for such cases.

There are SEVERAL instances in which one would absolutely want to buy the ETF. You can't hold bitcoin in a lot of traditional retirement accounts, but you CAN with the ETF. That's the great thing about the ETF; it's **expanded** bitcoin's use-case into the traditional, and now we have loads of money pouring into bitcoin that wasn't there before. So, the ETF increases adoption, utility, and demand...right before the halving. **Not everyone** ***should*** **buy the ETF though.** If you don't have any retirement vehicles in which you'd like to hold bitcoin, but can only do so using the ETF, then just stack Sats and move to cold storage per SOP. I'd like to leave you with the parable of Chesterton's Fence, I hope it changes your perspective a bit: "In the matter of reforming things, as distinct from deforming them, there is one plain and simple principle; a principle which will probably be called a paradox. There exists in such a case a certain institution or law; let us say, for the sake of simplicity, a fence or gate erected across a road. The more modern type of reformer goes gaily up to it and says, “I don’t see the use of this; let us clear it away.” To which the more intelligent type of reformer will do well to answer: “If you don’t see the use of it, I certainly won’t let you clear it away. Go away and think. Then, when you can come back and tell me that you do see the use of it, I may allow you to destroy it."

I read Marx a long time ago, and only *Das Capital* and the *Communist Manifesto*, nothing else, and am a bit rusty. But I think there's a stronger force at work that guarantees the outcome won't be a classless society at least - [positive feedback loops](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_feedback) and [winner-take-all](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winner-take-all_market) dynamics. In complex systems, there is a tendancy for the critical resources of the system to concentrate and consolidate over time, largely due to these two dynamics. Human economies are complex systems in which the critical resource is money and wealth. We see this concentration happen repeatedly in national economies, from the increasing concentration of wealth in the US in the past few decades, to historical examples like France in the 1700s leading up to the French Revolution of 1789, or Tsarist Russia in the 1800s prior to the 1917 Bolshevik (Communist) Revolution. The only two solutions I'm aware of are 1), asymptotic collapse, wherein the concentration becomes so extreme that it incurs an [asymptotic limit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asymptotic_analysis), society collapses, and there is a revolution (France 1789, Russia Bolshevik 1917, etc) as a result. Really not the road you want to go down. Or, 2) the national government implements measures to constrain wealth concentration, like the US after the Great Depression - 90%+ top tax bracket, numerous social programs and safety net, forced decentralization of the banking industry (Glass-Steagal), etc. Bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies are also subject to those dynamics, and their monetary design doesn't inherently solve it in any way. In fact, finite issuance may even exacerbate it, making a few early adopters increasingly rich vs the broader population, increasing wealth concentration in cryptocurrency too. Whether Bitcoin makes the world stateless I have no idea, but I think the general idea that somehow nations will cease to exist after being SOP for the human race for multiple millennia is probably not realistic. Bitcoin is great, but it's not flawless, and once it begins directly competing vs the dollar or any of the top ~20 national currencies in the world for primacy, its comparative strengths and weaknesses will become more pronounced.

>First, your scenario is quite low-probability. Businesses don’t go around defrauding their clients often. They want repeat business. Bad reviews and bad experiences are extremely detrimental to acquiring new customers and gaining repeat business. It’s not in their self-interest to act in the way you’ve described and it wouldn’t happen often. Secondly, as that situation would be verifiable with receipts and tx records, that would indeed be fraud. Law enforcement or even the threat of that recourse is likely to counteract such behavior. I think you may be underestimating the amount of chargebacks in a given year that happen amongst all the credit card companies. We are talking hundreds of millions a dollar a year in chargeback claims. It's not low-probability - it happens all the time. Law enforcement and threat of recourse? Against who? Criminals?? Sure, you could sue in civil court but prepare to spend lots of time and money. >Thirdly, as I stated above, this is a new system. New standards and SOP’s will be developed as needed. As these are low-probability events I’m certain transaction insurance would be very cheap and fairly simple to employ. Could be a good opportunity for legacy intermediaries that are being put out of business by the superior tech. Lastly, I’m certain there will be some kind of “refund regulations” that will require businesses to refund customers when in control of bearer money or else legal action will be taken under the new regulation. It needs to all be built and as adoption continues and the technology is refined and developed these things will happen. What you are talking about is middle man here. We already have that in credit card processing providers. Any intermediary will charge a fee. How is that more efficient?

These are not insurmountable problems and the efficiencies bitcoin affords *greatly* outweigh the costs they add to commerce. I would never turn my nose up at a system that makes *every transaction* more efficient and cheaper for the 1 in 10,000 instance where it created a less efficient outcome. It makes no sense from a mathematical standpoint.

You are correct it didn't take 1 year to go from the first aircraft to space rockets, but once the first rocket was launched it took a much shorter time to build the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. My impatience has nothing to do with the price. Short-term price action is a voting machine and doesn't reflect any actual progress or creation of value. I actually made a good return on my ADA before selling it. My frustration is with the slow development. Ethereum started development in 2014 and was launched in 2015 Cardano development started in 2015 and launched in 2017 Ethereum has faced a lot of criticism over taking short cuts to launch quickly and are today having to deal with the tech debt of those decision, but there is a very real first mover's advantage in technology. Launching with a minimally viable product is a standard SOP in the technology space as it allows you to gain momentum while making development choices as customers demand it. I have heard over and over about the philosophy of Hoskinson is to do the research up front, "do it right," produce a rigorously academically reviewed blockchain. The history of technology is littered with ideas sometimes superior ideas that never become successful because they take too long to develop and are passed by for faster moving solutions. Cardano was created after Hoskinson left Ethereum to create what he believed would be a better protocol. The two blockchains started development only a year apart. **Maybe** Cardano's approach will result in a technically superior blockchain, but that has yet to be proven and so far I have seen nothing giving Cardano a lasting competitive advantage that can make up the ground on other smart contract blockchains including Ethereum.

As for the CS degree, I too think it's not a mandatory thing anymore. Most of the programmers at my company are from different engineering background, mostly from electrical or electronics engineering. I myself have degrees in mechanical engineering. I agree that the programming is not CS specific job but a college degree in any engineering or finance specific field helps, so does the professional certifications (certificates definitely changes the salary negotiation game). But if you can prove your skills through open source projects on GitHub that would suffice to land you a job without a college degree. But then again, it's all region specific and depends on the organization structure. In big companies where the applications goes through HR, it's specifically hard to get through screening. Mostly the people in HR has no idea about how to evaluate a programmer's skill, they have a regular SOP and screening process there, and college degree is one of them. It's hard to get past the HR to the department head in this context. I am not trying to discourage anyone, just a few things that I experienced in this industry. At the end of the day, a programmer's ability is evaluated based on his coding skills and code reliability.

Yes. Ripple is going to lose to the SEC. The legal arguments are what matter. The case is in the discovery phase. Lawyers are literally just requesting documents from each other. It's all SOP. Nothing matters until actual arguments are made before the court.

I mean, it’s quite obvious the SEC is doing whatever it can to impede any advancement in the crypto space. That, combined with the political pressure it’s getting, it’s even more obvious that they will never accept things out of their control…..unless we negate their intervention in that space, considering they’re outdated and not willing to update their SOP.

I got no source. Basically both Luna and SOP present good alternatives to Eth for Defi due to the Eth hard folk not proving to make gas fees any cheaper, hence these crazy rallies. It’s a mix of rumours, news and clever whales charging a pump in all the chaos. Luna is also releasing a big update so that might have to do with it.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain that to me. I haven't moved any crypto I've bought so I haven't encountered this scenario before because of that. The red flag in the process, and I'm not sure how close you watch all of this SHIB action, is the attitude from the creator/dev 'Shytoshi". They've had an abundance of time to compile an in-depth SOP for the swap and yet this person is on twitter berating people for asking question and having issues. It's all pretty suspect to me, and reminds me of those scammer videos on Youtube where the scammer gets really impatient because he just wants those gift card codes.

Auctioned. That is just their typical SOP.

As for mine, i did made mistake once by entering wrong reference number for wire transfer. I contacted support they told me to wait for it to get refunded as this was actually their SOP to return funds that did not follow the appropriate step. At the same time i made a dispute/claim showing my transaction receipt and put the reason i made the dispute (i put wrong reference number). So i was expecting for it to bounce back, but to my surprise they actually credited my account.

I believe auctioning is in their SOP. So i don’t think it is appropriate to highlight the irony of it.
