Thanks for sharing your insight about this topic. I’m really interested in this for the exact reasons you said - I want to get involved with real estate assets but the barrier for entry is too high. I don’t have enough capital for traditional assets like real estate. With this STO, owning a fraction of a real world asset and increasing my ownership over time is really attractive for me as an investor.

Fair point. In a nutshell, the developers realized the initial token they created polymath (ETH token) wasn’t going to meet the needs of the STO market. So they created a STO blockchain specifically for this which is now polymesh. Best I can do I think.

I don't understand your point on Hathor at all to be honest. It is doing bank runs far higher than it's market worth and you formed an opinion based off of coingecko 10 foot barge pole, Itau bank was 3 months ago, Santader South America last week. Avon, Body Shop etc all using the STO (regulated by CVM, the Brazillian version of SEC) that Hathor has, the first STO in Brazil. Pre mined? It is POW using the same mining technique as Bitcoin. The STO was granted a few months ago and legitimises the token in Brazil, a huge market. Can't see others not following, especially in SA. And that is what happens when you judge off of one coingecko page. Closest competitor in STO sense is Vechain, has smart contract capabilities of Eth which are being used by actual corporations and is POW so has the security level that comes with that. Market value is a view of public opinion, at one point BTC was worth the amount it cost to mine it. Now, does this mean that Hathor is better than BTC or ETH. No, but something so low down on market caps running with 2 major banks and the likes of Avon and Body Shop. I also made profit on the way up to ATH, sold at a good price and then bought more on the way back down to ATL, and bought more then too and will continue to buy. See that as me being daft, but with those credentials and that market cap, I buy without FOMO, I buy with confidence. XRP used to be number 2. It was a behemoth of a number 2 too and some people say it did surpass Bitcoin as one point. It is not ifs and buts, tokens can at least surpass ETH. That is not to say I believe any token will ever kill ETH or BTC, just that they may be surpassed in the future by a cryptocurrency, more than likely by a government one like China or USA, which will then open up other tokens to gain in value, especially cryptos already used by banks that will be able to maneuver quickly into becoming defacto for centralised to decentralised exchanges. Which is a place that Hathor and XRP (and others) sit in nicely.

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

Hathor is, the Brazilian crypto already accepted by some banks in Brazil with and STO and regulated by the CVM (Brazilian SEC). That has had a decent movement today, although it is far smaller than the aforementioned obviously.

Here is the definition for Security through obscurity for you > Security through obscurity (STO) is a process of implementing security within a system by enforcing secrecy and confidentiality of the system's internal design architecture. Security through obscurity aims to secure a system by deliberately hiding or concealing its security flaws. I'm talking about the security of a system. A system != user account. The context is also talking about the security of the USDT token, not an account using USDT. Using passwords as an authentication mechanism is not using obscurity to secure a system. In this case, known and NON OBSCURED algorithms and implementations are generally used in order to implement this. Examples include BCrypt, OAuth, etc. In fact Ethereum and mechanisms to authenticate against the system are open and are not obscure. You can check the code of MetaMask for instance here - https://github.com/MetaMask/metamask-extension. Same thing with Bitcoin. These systems do not rely on security through obscurity, but through well understood and known crypto primitives which have been peer reviewed multiple times and undergo active research - https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C38&q=ecdsa+signature&oq=ECDSA+signature. Likewise, in a non-digital setting, using security through obscurity for your house, would be to utilize a hidden opening. Using a security mechanism for your house would be using a lock. A lock is not obscured on a house, everyone can see that your house has a lock. Using a concealed opening though, is STO since you're hiding a design flaw in the security of your house. Nice try at a strawman.

There are so many amazing projects right now, but my personal favourite at the moment is IX Swap (IXS). They are actually launching their platform March 31st, and will be the first automated market maker and liquidity provider for tokenized stocks and security tokens! This is absolutely huge , because even though security tokens have been around for a little while, there is currently very little liquidity for them... IX Swap will solve that problem and become kind of the Uniswap for security tokens! That is a huge step in the STO industry, and in bridging CeFi and DeFi. As always please DYOR and this is not financial advice, like anything you will read on reddit, but honestly I have never believed in a project as much as I believe in this one.

This is just great and it's very much inevitable. Crypto is here and it's not going anywhere, decentralization and #DEFI is changing the financial industry. Especially with the rise of Security tokens and Tokenized stocks a $7.5 trillion dollar industry that will surely capitalize on this. Unfortunately, there has been a lack of licenses and market markers to allow trading liquidity. One project that I was fortunate to stumble upon is IX Swap, they are listed in Kucoin and was intrigued how they are solving this issue. Soon trading STO's & TSO's will be possible and with ease. They are actually launching their main net this month and they announced their recent partner Terrachain. A US based technological and financial services company which aims to provide end-to-end digital security issuance services. They will also provide an opportunity for small-medium sized enterprises an equal shot with big companies in getting funds to build their businesses. Pretty sure US & Dubai will tap into this further and will highlight IX Swap in leading in this industry. Well that's how I think will happen base from my research. Again, always DYOR but if you want to know more about the project feel free to explore their website here: [https://ixswap.io/](https://ixswap.io/) and follow their twitter as well: [https://twitter.com/IxSwap](https://twitter.com/IxSwap) Cheers!

I think the best way to tackle your question is to first understand the meaning of STO's or Security tokens. Basically STO's are representation's of ownership which can be traded as a financial asset that is regulated (requires KYC) like traditional markets . However, what makes STO's bullish is the fact that they are on a blockchain which gives you the perks of a DeFi setup. Meaning you can trade these in crypto exchanges allowing 24/7 accessibility. On the other hand, this gives opportunity for companies to raise capital regardless of financial background. A good project that is actually revolutionizing this market is IX Swap, I have been following their project for some time now and I feel like they will lead the way in providing liquidity pools and AMM for Security Token & Tokenized Stock Industry. Anyway, always best DYOR and I hope I provided some clarity to your question. Cheers!

You are right, but that doesn't make it insider trading. Insider trading does not exist for crypto trading. By legal definition, an insider is an associate of a company who possess price sensitive information about the shares of that company. All crypto are decentralized. A central company and insiders do not exist. A crypto is not a security. All price sensitive information on a crypto are public information. A person may affect the crypto price through price manipulation (e.g. selling and buying at the same time with artificial prices) but that person has no insider information. Price manipulation and insider trading are different. Insider trading may exist for Securities Tokens (STO) but STO are not crypto.

These small pieces of ownership are implemented as cryptocurrency and called Security Token Offerings (STOs). Correct me if I'm wrong here. In the USA, the securities laws still govern regarding accredited investors, brokers, etc. There is an exemption for company owners selling portions of the company to other potential company owners. The word security in Security Token Offerings (STOs) refers to using real estate as security in business for equity or debt. Imagine buying partial ownership in a company that owns a skyscraper. The crypto currency STO part attempts to solve the issue of liquidity, attempts to improve liquidity...

> The thing with Cardano is it has a huge community that waits to use its ADA. I agree with this - Cardano does have a huge community, not sure why this is, possibly because of Charles' videos and his ability to generate hype, but there's no denying that Cardano has a massive community. > On the other hand how is Tezos going to bring liquidity to its ecosystem? I think it's far too early to dismiss any smart contract platforms as "having lost the battle", since while there's no denying that Tezos doesn't have the same type of DeFi interest and liquidity as other platform, Tezos is positioning itself as the go-to blockchain for real-world NFT adoption, and it's also [the second largest STO platform](https://twitter.com/CointelegraphCS/status/1403005333895847938) after Ethereum. With regards to NFTs, RedBull and McLaren have partnered with Tezos for NFT issuance, OneOf is an NFT platform built on Tezos for musicians, Ubisoft has chosen Tezos as the NFT platform for games, and just today The Gap retail brand has announced they'll be using Tezos for clothing NFTs. Can you show me any other blockchain that has as much real-world NFT adoption? Perhaps Tezos will never be able to compete against Ethereum-based chains in terms of DeFi, yet it's very possible that it could become the dominant platform for NFT and security token issuance.

based in Lichtenstein but its AAA rated basically connected with Switzerland. LCX will offer regulated token sales like the one they are doing with DGMV (digimetaverse token) and also STO sales. They had a sale ready for a movie directed by Wesley snipes but it was delayed and maybe cancelled due to covid and movie theatres being closed etc. Site it growing so not the whole ecosystem is developed but it seems an NFT marketplace is coming for tokenised Diamonds and id think in future they will offer other assets, like buying a real world painting or collectable on the marketplace that is on the blockchain. LCX can be used to get discount on the fees currently and also when doing token sales theres a fee that has to be paid in LCX, so DGMV sale is 1% meaning hundreds of thousands of lcx gets stored back and out of circulation. Site update is coming also I think next few months we see good development and more use case for LCX. Another LCX use is for the Tiamond sale you can lock an amount of LCX to be able to access the fixed price sale instead of having to bid in an auction style, this lock up is for a year so helps cut supply and im sure there will be more benefits with sales for people who locked it up. Others have already mentioned this, but essentially the DTCC is the cause of the existing problems in the stock and equities markets today due to how they handle locates on stocks and short selling. This has to do with how the Counterfeit Electronic Book Entries settles transactions and does lending. The essence of the fight against wall street that started in the wsb sub back in 2020 and coming to a peak in Jan 2021, was that the DTCC was allowing naked short selling against heavily distressed stocks or stocks that would be picked out and targeted to do a smash and grab short sell. Essentially, when a hedge fund, family office, or large enough private equity would want to short a stock, they would interact with a prime broker, who would loan them the shares to borrow, then sell on the market to create a short position. They essentially have an IOU to the prime broker and often the prime broker's shares are held in the DTCC's account. These shares get re-absorbed by the DTCC and can be borrowed again in T+2. Anyway, there's a lot of technical stuff where essentially the short version is that they are doing a lousy job of accurately tracking transactions (in fact, it is likely purposefully allowed to work this way as they benefit financially from lending shares and they're self-regulated). So, essentially, the whole thing is "trust me, bro", but the result is that since it's not decentralized and it's not transparent how the system works that it's evil. Another commenter said this as well, but crypto was literally born around the already identified risks that the financial system posed a few years before the '08 crash. BTC ironically produced the genesis block on a day when banks were needing a bail out from the UK government. The cause of which was all of the goings on of Banks lending to bad home loans, providing leverage to funds and banks that were buying mortgages, selling mortgage bonds, CDOs, and credit default swaps. When these loans collapsed, the banks fell. There was also naked short selling actually identified as going on during those years, which means that not only CAN it happen, but that it has happened in the past. So, the DTCC launching something in crypto is not something I want to care about unless this means that they're going to move the entire equities markets to using it and using an existing token standard like an NFT, STO, or utility token of some kind that can guarantee no naked shorting can occur.

I’ve never heard of STO. So it’s basically the ability to buy company stocks and equity on the blockchain. This is very interesting. I could actually see a real world use case for this. But I can’t imagine the SEC would be happy about it. Sounds like it’s a way to get around the SEC.

It actually is a security and the STO will fall under Regulation CF which means retail investors can get involved. This is a gamechanger because now people can make these blockchain investments and get real assets in exchange. I'm still learning the space myself but the security token market cap is at $1 billion right now and should hit a trillion by 2027. The movement in this industry needs to be talked about more.

In the interests of full disclosure, I have to say first I have invested in cryptocurrencies and made some money, but not millions. Now that aside, I start wondering if China doesn't have a point. I have a couple of questions/comments: 1) What is the difference between pumping up an imaginary coin and printing counterfeit money in your basement? Why should the former be legal not the latter? 2) If China declares Cryptocurrencies illegal, which means US based cryptocurrency producers can't trade coins in China, but that doesn't prevent China from sending his citizens to US or to one of our friendly countries to set base there and start pumping imaginary coins and then send the money back to China. Can that be done or am I too much of a conspiracy theorist? If I am wrong, I am happy to be educated because this thing has been bugging me for a while. Me, I feel more comfortable in investing in STO's than in cryptocurrencies as the former at least as a company that provides goods/services behind it, not to say they can't go bankrupt, the same goes for conventional equities. However, I do feel there is a little bit more foundation there. I want to hear from the more enlightened people on this matter. Peace!

What is LCX Doing? LCX is building a one stop shop for crypto investors and traders. It is a regulated company in Lichtenstein and LCX has received 8 licenses so far. Current products / services offered by LCX: - Defi Terminal / Degi Aggregator now across 16 decentralised exchanges) with Limit Orders, smart order routing & charts. - Multi Exchange Terminal. Connect up to 16 exchanges (such as binance, coinbase, kraken, kucoin etc) and trade, view portfolio, smart order routing etc - LCX Exchange. Currently a SPOT trading exchange, has only been out for around 10months or so. The company has also completed a movie fund Security Token Offering (STO), the RVW token, Roe Vs Wade film. There are hundreds of millions in STOs planned, with the overall STO market expecting to reach $2 Trillion by 2030. There's a lot more too (token sale manager, Vault; insured crypto, Quantitative Market Making) but with any potential investment you should DYOR. I have held for over a year now and the main reason being was for STOs. Since then they have only gotten fundamentally stronger (in my opinion) and I think it is definitely worth checking it out. As to the reason why it's picking up traction, if you look at LunarCrush (crypto social analytics, which is by the way integrated into the Multi Exchange Terminal) you can see there has been some community marketing efforts to get LCX known, with others also joining in across Twitter. I've definitely missed some things but DYOR and hopefully you like what you see :)

I don’t want to shill or convince anyone here. Always dyor. With that being said, I‘m in LCX since 2020 and think I can give some insights. The project has been under the radar for quite some time, but they do get more traction now. Which imo is only logical if you look at what they‘ve built in the past three years: 8 official licenses (regulation is inevitable at this point, and LCX will be in a great position), high end partnerships (dag, qnt, dot, hbar only to name a few) and the vision to „tokenize everything“ (STO launchpad coming soon). Now I do agree that they haven’t always met their own deadlines- which becomes annoying- but then again, this happens to a lot of projects in the crypto space. For example, their showcase tiamonds.com has been announced in June and I‘m still waiting for it to launch. Considering the whole package though, LCX is still way undervalued right now. The potential upside is huge if you have a mid to long term investment horizon.

The NFT market moves to Tezos while the biggest transaction volume in the NFT market is currently on Tezos. DeFi is exploding on Tezos, as multiple DeFi applications have launched and several pre-sales per week are announced. We have seen a lot of real world use cases on Tezos, both the STO field as more broader applications: So far #Tezos has been utilized in 1 Swiss city (Wetzikon), 3 French cities for voting (Chapet, Vernouillet and Verneuil-sur-Seine), 1 French government agancy (The French Gendarmerie’s cybercrime division (C3N), and 1 US city is currently developing a DAO on Tezos (Reno). Some of the most successful applications on Tezos are non-funded projects like Hic Et Nunc, Salsa DAO and Tezotopia (most successful NFT sales on Kalamint) Semi-funded applications with VC funds or funding from the Tezos Foundation have also had very successful launches. Think of Wrap Protocol , Plenty DeFi, Quipuswap, Tezos Domains, Kolibri, Tezex Bridge and others.
