That's the common mistake of all mortals, so to speak. In fact, it's a mistake that even developers overlook when creating their games. The fact of creating an economy that is not completely organic, so to speak. And how do you create an organic economy? Simple, by making **SOLID** economies. Developers forget basic Keynesian principles when they try to create their games. A very common mistake is exactly what you are citing in your post. Currencies in games should not be a reward currency. Currencies should be just that, currencies that support an economy. Currencies that support a monetary system in any game that allows for a real economy. When you ask me what I mean by an economy, it is simply the ability to create "goods and services" within itself. A perfect example is the RWA that exists in current MMORPGs, like World of Warcraft. There you can earn real money by selling gold, providing carry services, selling memberships, etc. And why can you earn money in World of Warcraft and not in other games? Basically because it is a game with millions of players, and that game requires gold to move in the economy, allowing everyone to interact with the auction market and buy memberships, high-value mounts, items, etc. So, why does World of Warcraft gold have value? I'll summarize it at these points: - It has millions of players weekly - Its economy is based on auctions - You can buy Blizzard games using WoW gold by exchanging it for Blizzard balance (SUPER IMPORTANT POINT) - Gold has a real and constant use as you play the game That’s why it’s a gross mistake to establish a cryptocurrency in a game as a reward and not as a unit of account that facilitates the exchange of goods and services between players, because that is what really gives a token value. That's why many tokens go down the drain, because they are REWARDS. And that’s why I understand your point. Because many devs forget that Friedman and Keynes were right. If your currency is unable to sustain your own game in a REAL way, then your game is destined to fail

I’m not an expert on crypto and how the 4-year cycle works, but I’ve read enough and watched enough videos over the past 3-4 years to have a decent understanding of how it works. Be careful following the advice of “crypto YouTubers” because most of them just talk out their ass. If you want to really learn how crypto cycles work, study TA (Technical Analysis), which uses charts to analyze Bitcoin and past cycles. Some people think that TA is bullshit, and it isn’t foolproof or 100% right all the time, but it’s really the only way you can make educated predictions on what the future could hold. Here are 2 crypto YouTubers who like to study the charts and are very grounded in their analysis/predictions— Benjamin Cowen and Crypto Crew University. Neither of them take paid sponsorships, and both study the charts and try to give you unbiased information about crypto. I’m not saying they are 100% right all the time, but they give SOLID advice. Technical Analysis can be very confusing, and I STILL struggle to understand a lot of it, but these 2 YouTube channels have really helped me to understand things better. Sorry for the long comments, but I am really into this shit lol. Keep doing research and learn as much as you can!!

I do have a question, sorry this is a month old comment. But I have recently JUST started messing around with stocks and crypto cause a friend told me to just use what I can and get some experience on it. I have no idea what to look for, and I doubt my meger tiny little investments are going to be a huge "SELL NOW" from you or others as advice, but seeing as how I want to learn and ACTUALLY start investing with some real money, what risks do you guys usually look out for? Where do I get SOLID information from about these things? It's literally just like $10 I invested for XRP, was going to invest maybe like $100-$200 after I get paid this week thanks to OT giving me money I am good with losing, but I don't want to simply throw shit at a wall and hope it sticks cause I don't mind losing that much(or little to others) money. When I looked up XRP it seemed like they were hopeful that after SEC case is over with (potentially this year?) that it'll go as high as $9 per share (I guess per coin? Again I literally JUST started learning this stuff about a day or 2 ago) but now reading this, even throwing $10 at it was a mistake, since I could've used it on chips and soda 💀

Thoughts on $SOLID? It's an omnichain dex using LINK CCIP, Axelar and Layer 0. It has been pumping for a few days now but no mention here. It can go across different L2 chains, 50% gas savings vs Uniswap, full JIT protection and volatility-adjusted swap fees. If this takes off it's got a long way to go.

I think he wanted to show how buying real estate in New York back in the day was a sound decision if you were an informed buyer that did your research on it (being a port city, a center for commerce, solid granite foundation, access to the Hudson river etc.) Even before most of the development took place it was viewed as a desirable location with lots of potential. As time went on and further development occured, that potential rose to the surface. Bitcoin is in a similar place. It's so early that much of the development surrounding it has yet to be built, but the foundation is SOLID, and there is nothing that can do what bitcoin does better than bitcoin.

I hate charts like this when released by a company with one of the products in the list. Invariably, their product gets full 5/5 marks while the rest don't. I see 3 yellow check marks on there, but they still get 5/5? Honestly bitbox is a SOLID choice. They're a good hardware wallet. I still hate the bias in charts like this. Its marketers that makes these, not engineers. Marketers are paid to lie to you. Regardless, to reiterrate. Bitbox makes a great hardware wallet, and its probably slightly better than trezor, and probably better in some ways (but not in others) than coldcard. Definitely better than ledger. But given that their chart shows trezor and ledger with the same number of stars, the chart is BS

The problem is that even a ROCK SOLID project, is completely worthless without investments and adoptation! And even the most basic garbage such as ETH/BTC with the tech equivalent (if crypto were cars) of a Ford Model T, will walk over anything if it has adoptation. Just like McDonalds is the worst garbage processed vile barf you can get, but its cheap and it gets the masses full in an easy convinient way, so its adoptation is through the roof and therefore it is relevant. So even techless scams, are worthwhile because they are adopted hard enough to not be killed off by even multiple rugpulls.

The BIGGEST fault against gold, IMHO, is that gold is NOT easily verifiable. After nuclear fallout or other such hell forsaken time, there's ZERO chance you are going to know the difference between gold and gold-plated lead. Important to add to this that Kraken has a VERY SOLID transaction history. In other words: it is probably the only exhcange where you can get easy access to your trading history. On binance, for example, if you export the trading history and try to sum the values manually, the values dont add up because transactions are missing from the statement. This should be a no-brainer (imagine a bank where statements dont add up) but in the crypto space it is really hard to find solid statements that are easy to use.

You should always consider what your other options for your capital were before determining you're glad you invested. It depends on when you invested in ADA but most likely no matter when that was there were much better options. Opportunity cost my man 🤦‍♀️ For the vast majority of people the best choice is a chunk of BTC, a chunk of ETH, a chunk of other SOLID L1s and SOLID defi tokens, and a small sliver for moonshots if you really want.
