I've heard this argument a number of times on staking and I highly agree it needs to be treated the same way crops are when harvesting. It should only be taxed when you sell them. I also think being taxed on swapping is stupid. If I buy x coin to swap to another because that is what its' going to take, and taxed a capital gains tax. When I offload (swap back) I will be swapping back and gaining more, the same, or less money. So the taxed amount doesn't change, but it adds a massive amount of work for the citizen and chances of the citizen can innocently screw up taxes skyrockets, and it cost the IRS more to go after the person or even look into all of this. ​ A COMPLICATED TAX SYSTEM ONLY HURTS THOSE OF US WHO WANT TO STAY WITHIN THE LAW. As a Nano developer, I find it obnoxious that people claim Nano is less secure than any of the other projects. It has never had a double spend and the network has never gone down. Limited supply with fair distribution. Regarding your point about less utility, it delivers on its promises. Also, spam issue would be eliminated by end of this year while keeping the coin free. i sent several money transfers from HSBC to Luno, where my bitcoin wallet is- no issues - then I had a huge row with HSBC after they blocked one for £250 on a saturday morning , and then they blocked my internet banking because i ignored a "fraud" call to my old landline, thinking it was a phishing attempt. all hsbc lines were closed for the weekend so I was locked out until Monday. Got £70 compensation eventually but it was like getting blood from a stone. It went via resolver to Ombudsman because of they treated me, but Ombudsman was so backlogged I settled for what I could get. I have now setup my transfers to Luno ( for buying bitcoins etc) as biweekly standing orders and HSBC have not dared mess with them since. and they have not dared block visa debit transfers of up to £10k to HL as I slowly move all my portfolio away from tHSBC. HSBC invest direct also refused a buy order for Argo at 67p from my ISA, on the trading screens you can see the stock, see the price, but only after u hit the DEAL button do you get an error code. When u contact them for an explanation they say no crypto stocks allowed. by the time I'd faffed about getting £5kcash out of the ISA and transferred it to HL , ARB had doubled...
