Real power can be increased up to the generator's nameplate capacity, typically measured in megawatts (MW). "Waste power" is a red herring in this case. It has nothing to do with a thermal generator, because thermal generators are dispatchable - if there is more generation on the system than load, frequency will increase over the target 60 Hz, and generation must be dispatched down or load must increase. This is measured through the [Area Control Error](https://www.naesb.org/pdf2/weq_bklet_011505_ace_mc.pdf) (ACE), which is a primary metric tracked in every electric grid control room. The only time you are dealing with "wasted power" is when you are talking about renewables, like solar, which have an inverter. A solar farm might be built with 100 MW of DC rated panels, but if the inverter is only 90 MW, the maximum power output at any given time can only be 90 MW. If the DC panels are producing 100 MW-DC, then 10 MW-DC is lost in the inverter. That's wasted energy. Also, if you have to curtail solar to meet system load conditions (i.e., load is less than generation and you have no other thermal units you can dispatch down), that's also wasted energy that could be captured by bitcoin mining.

If I was explaining this to my 11 year old here is how I would do it. This is not strictly applicable to SHA but should get you started. A hash function takes in data and spits out that data in a different for that is of fixed sized. A simple hash function is: A -> 1001, B -> 2002, C-> 3003... Your inputs get converted into an output of size 4 decimal digits in the above. So the word ACE would have a hash value of 100130035005 if you were looking at each letter individually. If the block size was 2, AC would be hashed first. And then 1\_ would be hashed second. If AC (combined) hashed to 4546 than ACE would hash to 45465005. Your hash function could go from A->1001 to "ACE is a good pilot" -> 9999. The block size is just how much data to look at, at a time.

Folks who market bitcoin, do so because it benefits them to do so first. Not because (insert reason they stated here). For instance, when you start to analyze incentives for marketing bitcoin, it gets pretty simple to see that all of the big token holders, early adopters, and anyone with something to gain will tell you whatever you need to hear to maximize their utility as it relates to bitcoin. What would you do if you needed the value of a thing to remain stable or increase, but never return to 0 before you could efficiently maximize your utility? You would make sure to say anything to do so. HODL indeed.

I got into ACE when it first got on KuCoin and it went from .04 to .36. That was my best day J think, made $2800 off of one trade for ~$300. Not bad. Also did close the same with ACH when it listed on Coinbase.

Big selling point is that it leverages blockchain to provide free and open internet to people in Asia (coughchinacough) it's currently pretty high as far as an entry point goes but keep an eye on it and invest if your research works for you. I think $ACE on kucoin might follow the same trend as it is a very unknown coin with solid fundamentals which draws close comparison to $TRIAS.
