Interesting So 'Analyst' (•NT•) and 'Diplomat'(•NF•) types are massively overrepresented and 'Sentinel'(•S•J) and 'Explorer'(•S•P) types are massively underrepresented.
The study shows that Bitcoiners are more often NT(J). In other words, Bitcoiners perceive intuitively (N), take rational actions (T) and prefer to plan (J).

That reminds me of this time a friend of mine made the mistake of saying to me "I wish I'd bought Bitcoin when you first told me about it" while I was drunk. I grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him and yelled "YOU SHOULD STILL BUY NOW C*NT!". That was at around $6k. He still hasn't bought, so you're doing better than him!
Your online tax calculator example was for Alberta, but it spits out wrong results for all the other provinces too. So it's still definitely wrong. Of course none of the calculators take into account every person's unique deductions, they just do the basic ones everybody gets. It can't give the other various case-specific deductions to anybody to reduce their effective tax rates, so the result we see is probably a bit higher than average paid. Not lower. For the $125k income example we have been discussing, the TurboTax calculator shows that AB average tax rate is indeed lower than Canada's average, but not by much. BC, NT, and NU are all lower than AB. No province has anything over 30%: AB 24.43% BC 23.55% MB 28.63% NB 27.90% NL 28.43% NT 23.82% NS 30.15% NU 21.88% ON 25.61% PE 29.58% QC 29.71% SK 26.31% YT 23.55% Average by province: 26.43% "The government feels entitled to almost 50% of any extra money you make." You sound pretty salty for somebody who makes "way less than $125K". If your income is $80k, then your *combined* federal and provincial marginal rate is like 30%, and you actually pay around 20%. You'd have to be making over 3 times as much income to see marginal rates even close to 50%, and then you'd actually be paying 32% average.

Think about what NT eventually became. If that is the future path for SOL then it actually will be the ETH killer.

As i said before many times, NO THEY WERE'NT. do these 2 questions look that simple to you? Can you answer them? ( I did) Q1: ‘Stablecoin’ (e.g. USDC) is the term often used for crypto-assets that claim their value is linked to certain reserve assets such as a fiat currency (e.g. US Dollars). Stablecoins may use a range of different ways to maintain stability, each with their own risks. What are key risks with these types of tokens? Answers: Many large stable coins are denominated in US dollars, meaning you will be exposed to movements in the USD:GBP exchange rate If stablecoins claim to be redeemable for underlying collateral, there is a risk that the redemption process will not work as expected (for example, in times of market volatility) Both of the above Q2: ‘Wrapped tokens’ are tokenised representations of other crypto assets. They are typically created to facilitate compatibility and interactions across different blockchain protocols. What are the key risks with these types of tokens? Answers: Wrapped tokens are often used to bridge assets between different blockchains. The integration layers that facilitate these bridges might suffer from technical issues, hampering the ability to utilise the token as intended. The value of a wrapped token is typically backed by an equivalent amount of the underlying asset. If the mechanism ensuring this collateralization fail, the wrapped token’s value may fall. Both of the above.
> Why is it necessary to run in Debian/Linux vs a program with a GUI? This is a false choice. Debian is a Linux-based system which has a choice of X-Window GUI window managers. Perhaps you're really asking why Electrs is operated from the commandline instead of having a GUI interface In the early days of Internet popularity, I figured that if there's a Linux way to do something, there's a Windows way. So I paid the big price for NT3.51 and the IIS Web server came with it (for free!). I set about configuring IIS using its GUI. Make a change. Wait 5 minutes. Make another change. Wait 5 minutes So I put Linux on a spare 386PC I had picked up for a few dollars at auction, installed the CERN Web server, edited the config file, sent a HUP to the server. Instant. Edited the config file again, sent a HUP. Instant Never used Windows again. You don't need a GUI to configure a server

When I say BTC isn't tech, I meant people buy it for its monetary properties, not for its transactional tech qualities. People buy BTC mostly for speculative reasons, not for use as money, which is as a store of value and medium of exchange. I say mostly and not totally because BTC and ETH at least have acquired a bit of a reputation as secure non-inflationary assets, so there is some demand for them for a store-of-value. But it is mostly speculative demand. >That is not even an argument. Every smart contract L1 is turing complete. But it doesn't mean a lot of them don't face high risk of obsolescence. Of course there are other Turing Complete L1s, just as there are other decentralized digital ledgers with finite money supplies competing with BTC, but both Turing Complete L1s and decentralized and credibly scarce monetary units exhibit powerful network effects. Ethereum, by acquiring powerful network effects in the smart contract L1 field, likely has the most secure market position of any asset in my opinion. Its dominance in the smart contract field along with massive adoption of blockchain based applications, could propel the value of ETH past that of BTC, in which case a lot of the brand recognition BTC now gets as a digital gold could very likely migrate over to ETH. But BTC will always be first amongst decentralized digital currencies, so even in the most optimistic scenario for Ethereum dominance, I believe BTC would behave like a digital precious metal, that is mostly transacted on Ethereum as an ERC20 token, while ETH becomes the first core asset and universal currency of the world. >>Being added to Ethereum as a layer 2 in the Aztec Network. >Privacy isn't a new thing. And it can longer be a feature that gives any alt-L1 a competitive advantage over the Ethereum techstrate. >>A blockchain made highly scalable using zk-S[NT]ARK cryptography? Being added to Ethereum as zk-Rollups like zkSync, StarkNet, Scroll, Polygon zkEVM, etc. >So far, early iterations of ZKs aren't showing the gas reduction over optimistic as everyone hoped. I was just giving an example of the extensibility and versatility of Ethereum. On the subject though, the progress being made on zk provers, along with the expected massive expansion of Ethereum Data Availability that comes with EIP-4844 and danksharding, along with extra-protocol innovations in data availability scaling like EigenLayer's ETH restaking technology which enables EigenDA, will increase zk-Rollup scalability by a factor of at least 1,000 times. >It is basically people "who only vibe with gains", as they like to call themselves. It is not representative of the total addressable market for crypto, unless it stays trapped as a mini digital Vegas forever. The utility of a fully programmable decentralized ledger and currency is practically unlimited. It just requires engineering and business development to realize that potential. Network effects all but ensure the development and adoption that does occur in this space will happen on Ethereum.
>They're both technologies When I say BTC isn't tech, I meant people buy it for its monetary properties, not for its transactional tech qualities. > I would argue that ETH faces the lowest risk of obsolescence, because its Turning Completeness allows it to incorporate almost any conceivable feature. That is not even an argument. Every smart contract L1 is turing complete. But it doesn't mean a lot of them don't face high risk of obsolescence. The key is, do you have credible competitors? For ETH's smart contract functionality, yes, there are plenty of strong competitors - they may need to take one or more cycles or so for regulatory clarity to be in place and allow high frequency trading of RWAs to show case their strengths. >Being added to Ethereum as a layer 2 in the Aztec Network. Privacy isn't a new thing. >A blockchain made highly scalable using zk-S\[NT\]ARK cryptography? Being added to Ethereum as zk-Rollups like zkSync, StarkNet, Scroll, Polygon zkEVM, etc. So far, early iterations of ZKs aren't showing the gas reduction over optimistic as everyone hoped. Right now, L2s aren't economical when main net gas blows up. >So I would argue ETH is fundamentally the hardest asset in the world: harder than the largest fiat currencies, and harder than even gold. The "ultrasound" meme requires usage. ETH is just too expensive to use. Right now, gas are blowing up because degens shorts/longs are getting liquidated on main net. When there is no price movement to liquidate leverage, the chain is silent and run into inflationary, as we have seen in the couple of months before. >There is only one public consensus with network effects — Ethereum — and only 120 million native currency units that can be used on it. It is a network effect of degen traders and shitcoiners. It is basically people "who only vibe with gains", as they like to call themselves. It is not representative of the total addressable market for crypto, unless it stays trapped as a mini digital Vegas forever.
They're both technologies, and both have native digital asset.. Beyond technology, there \*is\* something called branding, but branding can change as a result of technologically-fueled adoption of the subject or subject's competitors. I would argue that ETH faces the lowest risk of obscolence, because its Turning Completeness allows it to incorporate almost any conceivable feature. A privacy blockchain? Being added to Ethereum as a layer 2 in the Aztec Network. A UTXO blockchain to facilitate parallel validation? Being added to Ethereum as a layer 2 in the Fuel Network, which has the added feature of enabling UTXO-based Turing-Completeness. A blockchain made highly scalable using zk-S\[NT\]ARK cryptography? Being added to Ethereum as zk-Rollups like zkSync, StarkNet, Scroll, Polygon zkEVM, etc. So I would argue ETH is fundamentally hardest asset in the world: harder than the largest fiat currencies, and harder than even gold. There is a considerable amount of gold in the universe, and a growing proportion of it will become accessible with technological advancements. There is only one public consensus with network effects — Ethereum — and only 120 million native currency units that can be used on it.
Microsoft wallet NT … can’t wait 😂🙄

It's just dumb. I'm running windows NT, why should I care about Chat GPT and AI....
You're saying I SHOULD'NT buy high and sell low?
Call me naive, but cant wallets/chains just build in delays to stop this. We had this in windows NT 2 decades ago. Enter something like 5 incorrect passwords, now you wait 5 mins.. do it again, wait an hour... Again, wait a day etc.... Means you only get say 10 shots at it per day. Speed of the computer cracking it no longer matters.
You mean NT for First Nations People yes. But it's not referred to as 'third world'. I live here, I'm also from Aotearoa - are you from Australia also? The relative wealth of migrant communities and white Australians is next level. It's more complex than that
I'm no apple fan but also kinda put off by the graphene situation too https://youtube.com/watch?v=4To-F6W1NT0&feature=share9
0% That would be enough to live in extravagance for the rest my life. No need to take risks there. I'd just dump most it in real-estate and NT ETFs or something.
I would have been shocked IF THEY DID’NT LIE… they are payed for propagandist… this is exactly what they been doing for generations. This is the same “news” outlet that claimed flying machines were impossible and that the internet was a fad… 100s of year ago these same clowns would’ve demonized anyone who believed the earth wasn’t flat.

In 2001 then Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer declared "Linux is a cancer." Fast forward to 2014, and newly-minted Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said, ["Microsoft loves Linux."](https://duet-cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/0x0:1920x1279/750x500/filters:focal(960x639:961x640):format(webp)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/15905209/microsoftloveslinux.0.0.1473928986.jpg) [Embrace, Extend, Extinguish](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguish) Microsoft included a bare-minimum POSIX layer from the beginning of NT, later replaced with Windows Services for UNIX, a more full-featured UNIX based on Interix with various unique features that were not portable to other Unix-like operating systems. Windows Subsystem for Linux replaced it in 2018, a heavily modified Linux compatibility layer that caused fears of EEE. The current WSL2 has moved away from reimplementing Linux to virtualizing an actual Linux kernel and allowing full distribution installations, beginning with Ubuntu." The reason for moving for the move is that MS is now making more money from cloud services than from sales of OS. Cloud services need linux.

UNIX-like systems are more secure than DOS or NT by design. Modern Windows systems are especially a problem due to the telemetry and built-in backdoors. The "procedures where it simply does not matter in the slightest" would be airgapped cold storage. Which Windows won't like doing. At best you could install Windows on a system you intend to airgap, install Electrum or another offline wallet on it, airgap it, and then generate your wallet. However, if we're going the route of a paper wallet, it'd be easier and safer to use Tails. This way, when you're done generating the wallet and storing your seed phrase, you can boot to your normal OS again and reconnect to the Internet without worrying about exposing the wallet to any vulnerabilities. If you're not going to airgap and generate it in a read-only environment, you do in fact run greater, inherent risks with Windows. And if you are going to airgap and generate in a read-only environment, it's easier to do with an already provisioned live OS with an offline wallet program on it, which there are premade live images for, like Tails, where Windows would require you have an enterprise volume license to dream of doing this without breaking the EULA and/or risking malware.

Windows 1.0 and 2.0 were not great, and many people stuck to a version of DOS or used Apple. Until Windows NT, Windows were DOS based OS, popular OS like Windows 3.1 - 98SE. In 1987 mice weren't as common but new PC's definitely came with them, and there was definitely GUI. The OS might have been command line but there was still software with GUI. Globalization, specialization, and internet commerce have increased, they have benefits. Right to repair is not about making things simple, the issue is companies locking things down, special screws, DRM, copyright claims over firmware. Funny thing is that was pretty much the experience in the 1980's, local computer stores that could repair them.
I'm an old timer. My first "PC" was an Altair 8800 that my father put together and then a TRaSh-80 and a Bell 202 with FSK modulation. Now I have 2 smartwatches, 3 smart phones, an android auto setup in my work van connected to all three, 2 racks of switches and servers in my wiring closet running my media server, lighting systems and alarm systems along with the sprinkler system. I can open my garage door from India. I can turn on every light and open every door even if I'm in Australia. I have 2 SAT phones. I have a device that will provide a 12 lead EKG through my phone and will send it directly to a board certified cardiologist automatically and get a reading back in less than an hour.... Half of the equipment in my shop is tagged with bluetooth or GPS locators. The point of all of this ranting is that technology adoption doesn't always move in smooth linear directions. There are often setbacks and sometimes implosions (Windows NT 3.1, NeXT, etc...) A secure global, trustless and permission-less system for transferring data, ownership and value? That's some Star Trek shit...Anyone who doesn't see value in blockchain, doesn't understand blockchain. Google used to be "just a search engine"...

Gonna need a source for that, mate, seeing as basically every reputable piece of research refutes that claim. It's no secret that women on an international scale have significantly less access to technology than men. And even so, as I mentioned in my other comment, promoting crypto for women does not only encompass computer science careers, but rather meets a wide variety of social and financial niches.
Isn't macOS based on Darwin? Isn't Windows NT based on OS/2? The key is, the operating system is more than the kernel. Alpine Linux, for example, is not GNU, but Busybox. Android also isn't GNU/Linux, it's just a Java platform on top of a Linux kernel. It could literally be built on any kernel and it wouldn't change a thing. It could use the NT kernel, the Darwin kernel, the FreeBSD kernel, the Hurd, you name it. And in fact, they already have a new kernel in mind. Zircon, powering an OS they've been playing with called Fuchsia. So no, Android is not "based on" Linux. It runs on a modified Linux kernel, or any other kernel they want to run on.
Sometimes I can't help it. When BTC was $6k one of my friends came to me and said "I wish I'd bought BTC when you first told me about it" and I literally grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him and yelled "YOU SHOULD STILL BUY NOW C*NT!". I may have been drunk. I was right though. Except he probably would have panic sold in March 2020 and lost half his money 🤣

Hey, you can keep whistling past the graveyard as long as you want. Ethereum, right now, is where Novell Netware was when Microsoft released Windows NT. 90% market share, and not a worry in the world, right? ROTFL!

"The Internet is the next CB radio." \-- A good friend of Bill Gates You might not be old enough to remember, but in the late 70s, they were huge, especially after Smokey and the Bandit came out. You'd see your neighbors adding big CB antennas to their cars. Then suddenly it disappeared. The first version of Windows NT didn't even support TCP/IP. Later when Windows 95 came out, it didn't even have a web browser included. That's how wrong and out of touch even a smart person like Bill Gates could be. I'd mock these people, but keep in mind hindsight is 20/20.
NT Dallio. Shits tanking and you're not fooling anyone. (actually, you are fooling lots of people, but that doesn't sound as good.)

Most surveys made by universities show that people there don't want nor like Bitcoin, the same surveys shows how popular Bukele is, despite all the BTC he has supposedly bought. One shows that virtually half people don't know anything about Bitcoin, because Bukele taught people about Chivo Wallet, not cryptocurrencies. Well that’s not really the whole story eh (I’m not partisan in this debate either, I follow the football where you kick it with your foot instead of running about with it in your mits). So firstly there’s also the ACT (close to the population of Tasmania) which is rugby. Then there’s the population disparity between the different states. So you get Rugby states; NSW (8.166 million), QLD (5.185 million), ACT (431 thousand)… for approx 13,782,000. AFL you get VIC (6.681 million), WA (2.667 million), SA (1.771 million), TAS (541 thousand), NT (246 thousand, and rugby is pretty popular there too)… for approx 11,906,000. That’s more to NRL over AFL when you consider the population of each state… BUT, there are obviously other measures to take into account. Things like attendances (which are always going to favour Victorians, they even turn up to NRL games more than NSWelshers do), viewership, participation etc. etc. So while it’s possible the AFL is more popular (depending on how you define it), it’s not so cut and dry as people are making out here.
Its like the joke about Bill Gates counting to 10: 1, 2, 3, 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, 7, 8, 10 Never assume number just go up 😂
Windows NT (WNT) = VMS (Virtual Memory System) - 1 letter. Has Gates been a crook from the beginning?
Replace the words ETH/Ethereum with Windows (98,NT,Vista, etc) in your story. Then read it again.

As a person who actually lives in the NT, I corroborate this.
A typical brave browser user agent (which is the data that servers use to identify what browser you are using) is: `Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/96.0.4664.45 Safari/537.36` which obviously does not identify as brave anywhere, and could literally be any browser. It's not really that feasible to block Brave, or any other browser for that matter. The source of the truth is client side, and you should never trust the client. Blocking adblockers in general, however, is something that is of course done a lot but it's a bit of an escalating cat-and-mouse game. It will generally always be possible to circumvent ad blockers, but likewise it will generally always be possible to circumvent those measures in turn.
You are glad because you are coping hard? XMR is in a downtrend vs BTC for 1550 days now -> [https://prnt.sc/201z930](https://prnt.sc/201z930) It is at the same level as 7 years ago. Will XMR have a pump this cycle? Sure. But will XMR always trend down vs BTC? Yes, unlike ETH. ETH has been trending up vs BTC for years, XMR only down. Let's now check XMRETH [https://www.tradingview.com/x/WtC4NT1h/](https://www.tradingview.com/x/WtC4NT1h/) As we can see, it is trending down vs ETH since forever. There is not a **single** reason to hold any XMR over ETH, as you only lose vs ETH. You not knowing/accepting this tells me that you are quite uneducated in this space and are stupid money. I feel sad for you and your money.
That folder name looks like a Windows NT security id, not anything to go with Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Bitcoin also doesn’t use RSA crypto. If you found a file called wallet.dat, encrypted or otherwise, there may be some hope. This folder seems entirely unrelated.

Same hype said about Windows NT. A shitload of money and advertising does not guarantee success. IMO, this is one big tax write off they know will fail.
