I would think in a closed system this could lead to suppression of conscience. Why do we have to accept that? From my experience, these "ETH killers" are only hyped for one market cycle. NEO (ANT), EOS, TRON, Tezos You are better off putting 90% in BTC/ETH in a bear market. You can probably make a safe 2-10x in those coins. Your 10% could, if you have a lot of time, be used to make some moonshots. On the other hand, you could do something useful with that time and either work to have more money to invest in BTC/ETH, or you could have more fun in live.

Storj and Sia - I only have a cursory understanding of Storj but Sia is a good example. It doesn't use IPFS (as you correctly pointed out) but it can be used in conjunction with it. A new email service called Telios does this. They store encrypted emails on Sia and use IPFS to retrieve them. Overall good post OP. I bought an ANT miner when it was $300 per BTC. We paid $300 for the miner, and had every intention of selling the first BTC to pay ourselves back with. This was 2012, I believe. Maybe 2013. We never did get around to getting the miner set up. It's probably in my garage somewhere.

When you buy/sell a certain percentage is "bought back" by the team. Meaning 2% (or 3 or 5) of your but/sell goes to wallet owned by the team. Buy backs are important in coins which require deflation due to over inflationary tokenomics or hacks such as flash-loans. Profitability up, also realize a lot of those miner's aren't being shipped-- what's the point of importing, duties etc an ANT9 when you can now justifiably upgrade to a weapons grade S19. Issue is more the logistics of getting all that new silicon out.

Agreed, real life use cases are a very important point. I lately look at CHZ (the audience of their sports app is aimed at normies not necessarily already into crypto).
