Corteva ($CTVA) is splitting; smart move or another DuPont-style mess?
Can anyone tell me why Corteva $CTVA isn’t incrediblely undervalued?
Playing the commodities "super-cycle" - Agriculture plays

Guess not lol - hope you sold that CTVA 😅
CTVA rugpull wow. SP500 has at least one position open.
Guys just wore up. I yoloed my entire portfolio yesterday on CTVA, how did i do today?
I wonder how the options market handles spin off situations, eg CTVA today. Will be fun to look at the options chain.
what the fuck is appening with CTVA??
currently looking at FCX and CTVA also
Agriculture sector is dominated by companies from Asia. Have you also not heard of CTVA? I downvote you and am not putting effort to write anything worthwhile to you because you've proven to not be capable at discussing about a topic you're not well versed in. You're now in my block list.
Unfortunately, the world as we knew it is blowing itself up, literally and figuratively. We will need to retrench, rebuild, and become more self sufficient. Along with other defensive assets,I am long on industrials, infrastructure, construction, materials + CF, CTVA, NTR, LAND, VMI for agriculture. I am looking forward to better days for all of us.
Corteva bruh $CTVA. Can’t get much more evil than the origin story here.
I used to be in $DOW but sold a few quarters ago, cash flow was and still sorta is a mess. I was in $LYB for a shot-time but exited after last quarter once there was a bounce. Both commodity names are in a tough place, and I want to own them but they need to cut those dividends. $LYB has been stacking cash for a few years so they can sustain for a bit longer but from a business execution standpoint its just really bad to be selling off assets (even if non-core) and issuing more debt. If next quarter they give better outlook then might jump in. $LYB is yielding over 12% which is kinda insane. I have been eyeing $CC, $SOLS, $Q, $EMN, $DD, and $CTVA lately but haven't pulled the trigger. $CC is only expecting \~4% top line growth next year; however, they have improved operations and balance sheet that its fairly undervalued here. They primarily deal in refrigerants which competes against $SOLS. $DD just spun-off its electronics division into $Q which I was looking over its business the other weekend. I haven't put a thumb on what fair value is yet.
Yeah, I prefer pmcc'ing spx for income. No assignment risk and decent premium, also I'm perma bullish on sp500. Pure gain investments are all leaps, GOOGL AVGO META LLY and some CTVA
CTVA announced split of seeds and chemical into separate businesses by mid 2026. KHC announced similar plan recently.
Spin offs are a great opportunity Dow-DuPont-CTVA was a huge win COP-PSX years ago another There is a website you can look up coming soon offs. They are done to unlock value.
He who shalt not be named is going to El Salvador so I am looking at CTVA, ADM, NTR, INGR, and KRNT.
It turns out I was in a cash account instead of a margin account and RH was not letting me sell my positions. For more context to my post, every time I tried selling my CTVA $40 call 9/20 DTE contract ($16.2 limit) the contract price would decrease to ~$15.3 per share making me lose ~$100+. When I canceled the pending request the CTVA contract would increase in value going back to its original price or even higher. I sold my positions yesterday under a MRKT order since limit wasn’t working and turned out to lose ~$270. I think all of this was due to the fact I was under a cash account instead of a margin account but I am not entirely sure how that works… I did switch back to a margin account and found no issues trading options afterwards.
I'll be your huckleberry. Had the same thesis many, many years ago. I like Nestle too, and of course the obvious any securities heavily supporting the MIP (military industrial complex). But I think your big winners here are CTVA and DOW.... Closely examine at the history of Dupont chemical...
I’m too lazy but here’s what AI says. Again, it’s important to perform your own due diligence or consult with a financial advisor before investing.
Will play CTVA today. Had forgotten about it. If you recall the boogeyman Monsanto before the Germans snapped it up they are in the same markets. Q2 is their best as a seasonal company. Got some house money to use.

CTVA closed near $53 on 6/21 with high volume
CTVA has a gap on the 1M that looks like it will be filled sometime
CTVA near trendline from 67.08 to 64.07 on 1W
Sure thing! This is based off of last week's data - I haven't re-run the numbers this week. DBA is an ETF, so it is not included in this stock screen. Hello! I'm just starting with stocks, work started offering some shares so I've got some there and am looking at a few others, could you please check these? CB, DBA, CTVA, CTRA
XLC which is basically meta, and CTVA.
Meaning corteva (CTVA) will 📈📈📈 and Bayer (BAYRY) will most definitely see a downhill. Bayer had a huge agricultural ban on their product, and that is #1 agricultural herbicide
Any thoughts on CTVA, long term hold? I think it's a good entry point, no?
INDI and not even close. CTVA and VICI are awful.
Any ideas about INDI, CTVA and VICI. Choosing beetween these three, which one?
CTVA is a good candidate for a monthly DCA. She is due for a rebound, but she could drop to $32 before the rebound happens.
Not bad, but... It's not a swing trade. My last chemicals swing was CBT sum months ago. Compare it's metrics too CTVA, sector on downswing. Just my opinion. Long hold? Sure. 2025? Then there's the metrics, tad lack luster for my taste.
Took some profits on long holdings - SMCI, CI, CTVA, NVDA and AMZN. Off to feed the homeless. Have a great New Years.
Jumped back into CTVA. Fairly valued here but looking long on these shares. May buy some LEAPs if I see them drop Monday. Id love to add to longs if I see 36-38 a share but dunno if we'll see it.
Well back in February I made a fake Google Finance portfolio with 5 tickers that had huge amounts of insider buying. Mostly shady or unprofitable companies. CMPR CTVA ALGN AEI RILY (+22% YTD) My actual portfolio which I have spent countless hours researching and lost hours of sleep over is only up 7% YTD... Feels bad man
FFS, I just went back long in equities - Current holdings are all over the place - AMD, CTVA, DHI, FOR, GSK, IX, KVUE, LVMUY This is apparently my "WTF Portfolio"
Took profits in LOW, CTVA, MA, FOR and DHI today. Liquidated those positions. Holding cash again.
Good morning. Market all over the place. My watchlist looks like a Christmas tree. Industrials and materials look like they are dumping, definitely pointing to a recession. CTVA has had a really bad week. Would love to see it under 50$ to rebuy as a long. JPM sitting around 128$ isn’t bad but wouldn’t buy unless it dumped to 100ish. I was waiting on AMD, NVDA to really pullback but they seem to have RTard strength right now so no go. Hoping SPY dumps below 380 with some massive volatility so I can get out of my 360ps today. I’ll take break even tbh. Gonna be an interesting day. All the talking heads are pumping news/Twatter with negative info. Should be fun.
They were supposed to be 3M (MMM), Tyson Foods (TSN), Verizon (VZ) and Medical Properties Trust (MPW), but I don’t know how fleeting their catastrophic performance is. I bought some MP Materials (MP) and Corteva (CTVA) in the past few months.
Dumped all my CTVA for a super-duper, awesome 3.3% gain so I could make room for something else. CTVA knocking on its intrinsic value of 67$ so I figured Id get out and just go into something with more upside like CI or another boring long. The position in my taxable account was less than 2800$ so, not at all earth shattering and I cant flex on it.
Dumped my AMD and COST longs at about 25% gain. Gonna revisit if they drop below a certain price in the future. Both great companies and core holdings but want to take profits. Sitting on JNJ which I need to dump with intrinsic value around 108. Currently very expensive but the inflated price is a play on the future split so Im not so sure I want to drop it. Sitting on cash while the market reevaluates itself. CROX coming down from near highs. Would love to see below 104$ before adding to my smol position with a 125$ basis. CROX, CTVA, TMO, MSFT and AAPL all knocking on a 10% margin of safety for buying/holding right now. Would love to see these fall a bit to add before then.
Canadian fertilizer stocks - ANDE, CTVA, [NTR.TO](https://NTR.TO),
Started buying the dip in Industrials and Materials for my long port. Adding to CTVA, DE, CAT and then CI. Nothing special. Waiting for TSLA to pop above 205 to sell. Been a shit position for a year as I bought at mid-highs then added alot when it fell into the 170s to bring down basis. Will use the 10K for something else - maybe just add into SPY or QQQ if I see a pullback. Or just keep the cash and wait for some LEAPS in positions to get where I want.
**Cramer** just said, "I like CTVA. You have my blessing to buy this one" You know what puts to buy tomorrow, boys
Started a tiny, tiny long position in ADM. Will add over the next few months. Hoping DE will dump back down to the 300 level so I can buy again. About 6-8% of my long port will be CTVA, DE, ADM going forward.
I own small positions in CTVA and DAR
"What sectors are even worth investing in if Tech is being sacrificed to the Gods." "I wouldn’t even touch energy considering they’ve already broken past 52 week highs." Energy is what's doing well (and alt energy - look at SEDG +20% since earnings a few days ago.) Some industrial/defense holding up well. Agriculture (CF, CTVA). Parts of healthcare. If you're looking to jump to what's working in this environment, a lot of it is probably going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of highs.
CTVA making a hell of a move
[$CTVA](https://ibb.co/wJC53S0) 🌾
I was looking at UAN, CTVA, MOS, NTR, and CF. From what I’ve seen, UAN is a big nitrogen producer and CTVA just got funded by a Fed handout to support US Ag
Here we go again with the gourd! Agricultural sector it's actually a good bet going forward something like $MOO $ADM or $CTVA
Started a long position in CTVA and added to my CROX long on this pullback. Trying to get into 1/2024 CTVA LEAPS but they arent triggering. Added to DE, UNH and TMO. 4164 is resistance on SP500 right now. Hopefully we can break it and push above before close.
By the way, just an interesting side note on DOW. It actually used to be company called DowDuPont but a while back it has split up into DOW - plastics, packaging, commodity-like chemicals. DD - specialty, advanced materials, lower volume but higher margin chemicals and CTVA - seeds, pesticides and fertilizers. Just interesting history factoid for industrial geeks lol
I would not recommend investing in commodities producers unless you have good knowledge of underlying commodities and markets in general. But since you ask some individual equities Agri: AMD, BG Fertilizer: NTR, MOS, CF Seeds: CTVA, FMC Miners: RIO, BHP, FCX I've been trading these in the past but not anymore. They are majors and really top of the pile commodity producers. There are hundreds of minors but I see no reason to get involved with those.
$BG $CTVA $NTR ask your self are you paying more or less for Pizza, Burgers, Salad bowls, Chipotle, wheat soy, etc. India is restricting wheat, sugar exports, and maybe even rice, there are food riots in Sri Lanka and Peru, and People in Lebanon can barely afford food. The world needs more food not less. Prices at the store are up and this stock is down. Its fucking pure price manipulation. Hold Do not sell your shares.
if you're interested in food security, crops technology : SEED, CTVA
Long term puts on HYG and Long Term Calls on NTR, BG & CTVA
Not that I’m a geopolitics expert by any stretch lol, I wouldn’t rush into CTVA or anything either. They sell their products globally including a sold chunk of revenue being China (not inherently bad but definitely needs some DD), not sure if Ukraine is a market for them either. In my mind if their product pipeline can provide solutions to low nutrient soil that’d be a plus but I’m also not a farmer, I was originally interested in them for crop resilience with climate change which is a very real looming threat to food supply as well
No one is focused on food, but the energy as of now. $CTVA is one i’m adding up whenever it drops. if i have more cash left, i would buy cost, mdlz, mcd, and wm. Growth stocks u already holding seems great. Check out CTVA for sure, and if u r looking for tech, ZBRA or CGNX to add on ur port
Farming: DE, AGCO, CTVA (seeds), FMC (pesticides) Retail: KR (until rising food prices cannot be passed to consumers). Iron Ore: CLF General metals: BHP
Stocks I own: AAPL, TSLA, GRMN, CTVA, CCL, NIO The only ones I'm positive is CCL and NIO (highly speculative). If you look at the graphs of the others they exploded in a strange way from march 2020 and now they are coming down exactly at the same levels they were in December 2019 and from there they will restart to grow slowly at the previous rate
The thing is that agriculture is very volatile. You really really have to be on the ball. And you know, maybe everything plays out as you was predicting but then there is new swine flu, or maybe there's too much rain or maybe there's too little rain or maybe Ukrainian farmers go on strike and all your analysis is for nothing. I like agriculture fundamentally, I like ADM and BG and CF and CTVA but it's just way too much work and I'm not that smart. So it's just my 2 cents, sorry if it was a bit off topic. Oh and to be honest LAND is significant part of my portfolio but that's to do with inflation not agri macro picture.
Never followed Buffet all that much. The man is, and has always been, a little too old fashioned and before my time. But there are no doubt similarities between he and I. I believe that even if the markets pullback under stagflation that agricultural goods & services will continue to prosper. In many cases, such as the case with CTVA, MOS, & DOW, the securities in this realm are trading at solid value and they aren't likely to come to a point where they do not turn a profit. CTVA and MOS, because they're so close to BVPS, have limited downside. Solid demand as well. DOW because its forward dividend at these prices is roughly 5.2%, and DOW too has solid demand. All are expected to grow ... the only question is at what rate to price in? I can understand how the markets can overreact and these tickers can trade lower in the short run. I do not see them failing to grow in share price from current levels. Indeed no matter how the markets pull back these companies aren't going to likely lose revenue at Spring 2021 levels. They will likely continue to gain in revenue and demand as time goes on as compared to previous years numbers. And I'm good with that.
I’m going to copy and paste what i said to another fella above “Well some of these are reliably profitable companies at a value buy on a pullback of little consequence, favored by institutions under somewhat favorable economic circumstances, coming out of the COVID dip. There’s only so low they can go before the value is irresistible. Take MOS & CTVA for example (Positions in both). Look at their financials. Any lower is gravy! DOW also is trading at a low with a 5% dividend. Great financials.”

Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE:ADM) Plant-based proteins, processing, industrial biotech Scotts Miracle-Gro (NYSE: SMG) - Fertilizers, lawn care, hydroponics Corteva Agriscience (NYSE:CTVA) - Pesticides, biologicals, digital agriculture Nutrien (NYSE:NTR) - Fertilizers, digital agriculture, retail FMC Corp (NYSE:FMC) - Pesticides and biologicals
QCOM SATS CTVA DD MAT TMST ZIM POWW ... Making out like bandits baby!
a recent and large example was dowdupont splitting into three companies: dow (DOW), dupont (DD), and corteva (CTVA)
CTVA: Great time to load up, if it breaks $44 id sell and bid $40 FUTU: descending cone on the 3m, easy to see on the 1y. Just double bottomed off $100, if this reverses I would buy puts. The support after $100 is in the $70s
I went up 100% to bagholding on CTVA in a matter of 30 minutes. This biden's fault??
CTVA EPS of $0.81 vs. analyst consensus of $0.67 heading into earnings. 125% y.o.y increase. **ANOTHER WIN FOR GRAIN GANG**
Realized \~$3k profit today between NTR and MOS. Grabbed some CTVA 50cs on the dip for earnings. let's go grain gang unfortunately that $3k doesn't cancel out the other $6k in unrealized losses lol
CTVA and FMC make me nervous because they are already at ATH, but could be interesting grain gang plays
CTVA, NTR, and MOS are the big ones I'm watching into earnings. BG and ADM are interesting to watch for their origination segments - question is if it can outpace the losses on processing.
Any ag plays? I'm in DD and CTVA but I want to get into more
Iron for farmers, John Deere $DE, case IH like $TITN, inputs like potash $PTAM, seed and chemical like $BFASF, $CTVA Corteva (Dow & DuPont) and Bayer $BAYRY. If you’re looking into vertical farming, I’d check into LED light suppliers. Sunlight might be free, but the variability in a greenhouse is crazy, too hot, too cold, not enough sunlight or too much. Confined growth facilities are cool and consistent.
Related: CTVA is agrotechnology and it has not given one hot damn about anything but going up
[Here's everything (minus options) I'm in](https://imgur.com/a/3lMY7dE). For the most part, I am a buy and hold forever person, and there are tickers I've held for 20+ years in there as well as the entirety of the first IRA - BDA that I inherited from my parents that has 20-30 year holds (**DOW** @ $6.70 for 860%, **CTVA** @ $3.39 for 1281%, and so on.) Some, though, I bought in 2009 after the last crash, like **FNMA** which my basis is $0.75 (it was $60 before the 2008 crash and sweep.) Others, like **UTF**, I really like because it's slow and steady ***with an 8% dividend!***
That's some 3D chess shit. I like it. When Dow Chemical split off into 3 companies, I held CTVA (the one that makes frankenseeds) out of spite, because they said it would tank. Guess which one is up?
I agree with u. Big buys are carrying too many jobs. And current administration can’t risk too much. I think their goal is just raise the oil price, match with the bio fuel, bio plastic cost. Make the price more competitive for the clean energy and plastics. At the end, we still need oil for everything. Even in our toothpaste. I don’t see big drop within 10 years. But, it will change people’s view like MO, BTI. Making money, but socially not accepted much. I’m just moving ahead and so far i was right. AMTX GPRE GPP all went up, more than oil stocks.
