Yea utility + infra is the way to go. For infrastructure, Comfort Systems (FIX) is carrying my entire portfolio (+200%). I originally bought it as a play on global warming (because many places in the US that historically never needed A/C now need it), then it turned into an AI data center play. I also have ETR and CEG at +100% each as standard electric utility stocks. Outside of electric utility I'm looking at water, recently nibbled on AWK and VLTO. Both AI data centers and the semiconductor manufacturing industry will require significant investment here. Last year I bought FSLR around $190 but I chickened out and dumped it at $150 something when Trump was messing with the subsidies. Fuck me.
i'd like to add GEV, ETN, EMR, ETR, PWR, and DUK... i sold out of GEV but will buy heavy on a big retrace i think the sleeper is DUK which is second only to CEG in number of nuclear reactors... they are located in the carolinas and charlotte is a rising business/tech hub...
AI Infrastructure and energy stocks are up next for many years of retard strength NBIS, CRWV LEAPS and CEG, NEE, ETR shares

If we hit ATHs by the end of the year I'll be very surprised, we're due for a pullback. ETR at 13.8% vs 2.3% at the beginning of the year is still insane. April 2nd SPY was at 564. I see limited upside, great time to sell up

It's not exactly a secret, I have commented elsewhere in the thread and most of them have been trumpeted about Reddit the last week or so: BAE Systems (LSE: BA.) Babcock International (LSE: BAB) Leonardo (BIT: LDO) QinetiQ (LSE: QQ.) Saab (STO: SAAB-B) Thales (EPA: HO) Chemring (LSE: CHG) Rheinmetall (ETR: RHM) Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR.) Airbus (EPA: AIR) Hensoldt (ETR: HAG) MTU Aero Engines (ETR: MTX) Safran (EPA: SAF) Those are what I bought on Friday and I'm up about 15% today.

Yup, too much in one thing. Honestly it's a weird market right now. I had too much NVDA and diversified into AI infrastructure, GLW Corning, DOV Dover, and ETR Entergy. So just pausing here, I know this is a meme sub but it’s pretty rough seeing people discussing tax when they don’t know what their looking at. It’s honestly pretty complicated from a reporting perspective but there’s a lot behind these numbers. There’s current/deferred components of tax in that number. The number on the income statement can be drastically different from the actual amount paid. There’s a difference between an ETR on the financials and the cash tax rate. Their current tax from FY23 is roughly 22.5% of their pre-tax income even though their ETR says 18% (and that’s just income tax). Not accounted for in this line is items like sales tax/franchise taxes. Those are lumped above the line in pre-tax income. So it’s not always the full picture and really shouldn’t be compared to what they’re actually paying in a year.
Hannover Rück, happy investor now since >10 years. https://www.google.com/finance/quote/HNR1:ETR
Most companies only without at 22%, but realistically you’re right - with federal and state taxes at that scale, they probably paid anywhere from upper 30s - 40s ETR. OR the are sitting on very very large unrealized capital gains, which may help the burden a bit if they’ve just held after vest.
The US has a very low tax burden, moderate corporate tax rates, and moderate income tax rates. The US could easily afford to increase tax revenue without burdening workers. The bond market agrees with this assessment, pricing the risk of US default at close to zero. sources: * [OECD](https://stats.oecd.org/index.aspx?DataSetCode=CTS_ETR) * [Tax Policy Center](https://taxpolicycenter.org/briefing-book/how-do-us-taxes-compare-internationally) * [World Data](https://www.worlddata.info/income-taxes.php)

Effective tax rates means you have no case. Tax rates were not the highest in the world, try opening an operation in the EU and tell me all about how you saved on taxes. US has been third world tax rates since forever, fueled on borrowing https://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=CTS_ETR Also, debt as a percentage of GDP tends to go up under Republicans and down under Democrats. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/GFDEGDQ188S
I guess it depends on the market, but the provisions I’ve done are mainly favorable for stock comp since the price usually goes up between grant and exercise At least for F500s, that’s usually their largest adjustment for their ETR rec most years.
First Energy Corp (FE) and Entergy Corp (ETR) for a start. They have several nuclear plants between them and follow in similar footsteps to how France runs their nuclear systems (France’s power is 70% nuclear or something close).
Adding to this - I'm just pointing out what I saw was obviously wrong after briefly checking for like 5 minutes. I don't really care about whatever conclusion or etc. It is hard to get these things right. Experienced analysts and associates will still get things wrong after doing the same thing for years on end. That is why it is in the nature of the industry to have multiple pair of eyes check and iterate over and over again. I am not going to say X or Y assumptions are wrong, because frankly unless you work in Semiconductor Investment Banking or Equity Research or related roles, you will not get right. It is a tricky industry. You can get so in the details to build fab by fab sort of analysis. I want to get at a number of critical problems below. 1) The underlying copy pasted financial statements (income) are wrong. This is the most obvious one. These are past financial statements for FY21 published by the company and the SEC. Anyone can check. They are not right by many orders of magnitude. Ergo, all subsequent analysis based on wrong numbers will be, well, wrong. A quick example of this OP says Intel has \~10 months remaining of cash to cover its short term expenses. That is because OP got their cash number wrong. I get people on reddit shit on Intel, but they are still really rich. Like, $30bn+ in cash rich. So obviously, they are fine sitting around doing nothing. 2) DCF are based on uFCF. The numbers in t he model are not uFCF. 3) Terminal value is wrong. The model just sums up historical and forecast. That's not what terminal value is. Either multiple based or terminal growth rate based. 4) Enterprise Value to Equity Value walk is wrong. Per Intel's latest 10-Q, Cash and Cash Equivalent totaled \~$23bn + $6bn in STI against $32.5bn in debt. For DCFs, you should be using fully diluted shares outstanding (which is a circularity in terms of financially modeling, because options gets more dilutive as the value increase, but calculating that value requires you to know the option dilution amount - hence, a circular reference). That is more complicated so OK if not included. 5) CAPM - for unlevering beta and WACC in general, equity capitalization is market capitalization, not the one on the balance sheet. Also, Beta assumptions don't make sense. I don't know the source but just looking at it their peer's Beta are materially higher (AMD, NVIDIA, etc.) 6) Tax rate - Intel's tax rate is materially different from the standard 21 / 25% tax rate assumptions. Per FY21, their ETR tax rate was 8.5%, higher in prior years but far less than 21%. Probably around 10 - 12% average I would say. But the actually analysis will be much more complicated and you'd need to spend a serious bit of time due to tax benefits for semis often intertwined with new government policies. 7) Discount rate - you are discounting at the cost of equity. You are not discounting at the cost of capital. You can't do this. Intel's cap structure leans heavily into debt. They are A+ / A- rated. This should further lower the discount rate (but in this case the overall change will be a higher discount rate, because of error #5, since the Beta is massively off, and a higher Beta implies a much higher cost of equity). And so on - I can list more, but I think people get the point. Again not trying to pointlessly criticize OP here. Not a lot of people are willing to pose opinions backed by detailed workings (and especially so giving evidence of their work for review). So I commend OP for doing that. Its obvious they have put in a fair bit of effort here. Its all a learning process.
*"If you put it exactly like that it works out."* I agree *"The thing is it does not work out that way, there are way more variables than just that."* I also agree. My point was to show the interesting math, which most people aren't aware of. I know I was pretty surprised when my Financial Planning instructor first showed this too us. *"When you put money into a traditional you get to take that as a deduction on your taxes. So you would pay less in taxes than someone who made the same exact amount and put it into a roth"* That's not as relevant as you might think. The only thing that matters is your effective tax rate at the time of deposit and at the time of withdrawal. Beginning vs End. You're comparing Beginning vs Beginning... Effective Tax Rate of Someone Depositing into a Traditional IRA vs Effective Tax Rate of Someone Depositing into a Roth IRA Yes, the ETR of the person using a Trad IRA might be lower than the person using a Roth, but this doesn't give you enough information to determine which will come out on top in the end. The only way to know (with absolute certainty) which vehicle is the choice to time-travel into the future and calculate your effective tax rate based on the future tax brackets. In other words, it's impossible to know which scenario will play out. The best you can do is guess. *Present Tax Rate < Future Tax Rate:* Roth IRA wins (better to pay taxes in the present) *Present Tax Rate > Future Tax Rate:* Traditional IRA wins (better to pay taxes in the future) *Present Tax Rate = Future Tax Rate:* Draw (doesn't matter when you pay taxes - you'll end up with the exact same amount at the end). *"Also depends on the state. If you're in NY you'd have to make around 75k to pay exactly 25% taxes. If you live in Florida you would have to make around 130k to pay exactly 25% taxes"* There's nothing special about 25%. It's just a random tax rate I picked for easy math. It could have been 7% or 12.5% or 19.737%. As long as: Present Tax Rate = Future Tax Rate, then the ending result will be the same. For me personally, I hedge my bets by splitting my contributions 50/50. 50% to Traditional and 50% to Roth. I like keeping it simple. Gives me more time to write extremely long replies on Reddit ;)
Oh OK. I use JNJ and CMI and ETR for these. Sort of random but I see patterns. I cannot time AMZN or Goog for crap. I owned both a few times and always seemed to caused a drop!

Try this, forget everything you think you know about Tesla. Because about 80-90% of what your read in the media is simply wrong. Now actually look at real numbers and let's take amazon as an example: [https://www.google.com/finance/quote/AMZ:ETR](https://www.google.com/finance/quote/AMZ:ETR) Amazon 2021: 470$ Billion revenue, 33.3$B Profit Tesla 2021: 53$B revenue, 5.5$B Profit (Q1 2022 3.1$B in Profit) (Annualized Q1 2022: 4 x 3.1$B = 12.4$B) So save to assume at current run rate Tesla can make 10$B in profit per year. Now if they are able to scale production to something around 4 Million cars in the next 2-3 years, they will already have the same Profits or more then Amazon. Now [Tesla is growing](https://hypercharts.co/tsla) much quicker than [Amazon](https://hypercharts.co/amzn). Especially if you look at net income. Now what you do with these numbers and what multiple you want to add to the stock price to account for the growth is completely up to you.

Their effective tax rate (ETR? will be way under 12% at 32k per year. Remember the standard deduction is like 12.5k now, so they’ll be paying 0% on the first 12.5k, 10% on the next 10k, then 12% on the final 9.5k for a total federal income tax bill of $2,140 and an ETR of 6.69%.
I believe I read Exxon Mobile is already doing oil exploration in Brazil as well as Nigeria on land that Africa Oil Company (a Canadian company) have them rights to explore for a cut. We actually get a lot if not most of our oil from Canada. Enbridge (a Canadian company) is one of if not the largest oil pipeline (midstream) company in North America even with the Keystone pipeline getting cancelled. I know we hear a lot of news about West Texas oil production but I don't think it's nearly as big a deal as the news would make it out to be. Margins are fine and high for upstream and vertically integrated energy companies right now where they already own the land and/or mineral rights, but as soon as they need to buy new mineral rights while commodities are high the energy companies will also need to pay those high commodity prices to acquire the oil and then their margins fall. Energy prices will likely remain high for the next few years like you are saying but I don't think the insane profit margins for energy companies will remain this high for very long. I saw someone comment that OPEC+ won't produce any more oil however, they have been and will be producing an extra 400k barrels a day every month when they meet. It also has nothing to do with Biden or the Democrats and more about the price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia during the pandemic where Russia decided it didn't want to play by OPEC+ rules anymore. I think the show trickle of more production is more about allowing Russia more profitability as well as keeping an eye on them to make sure they stay in line. All I'm saying is I agree with you but there are so many variables that could drastically bring down oil prices that I am not willing to take the risk. I bought a ton of VDE in the lows of fall 2020 and sold the entire position in March of this year when the price started doing over $100. I still own a decent position in Enbridge that I DCAed into in 2020 because of their dividend and the fact that they are moving into renewable energy and a decent position in EPD (even though a sold half this spring) because they are extremely undervalued and have a lot of NGL infrastructure. They are also looking to move hydrogen through their pipelines. I also have a good portion on BP because of their renewable ventures and don't plan to sell any of these three in the near future. As far as adding more energy to my position, I will probably not buy. I also still hold quite a bit in VPU and a lot of utilities like EIX, ETR and, D since they all seem to be moving to renewable energy too, cutting out the middle man. I will likely sell most of my utility positions if they get too high. There are so many blue chips that I can add for cheap right now that energy is the last on my list. Holly Energy Partners seems to be doing poorly for some reason so I *may* add to that position after a bit more DD if everything looks fine and they hit 52 week lows but I don't really see that happening. I think anyone buying energy is late to the party at this point. If you want commodities look at RIO or VALE, they seem to be pretty volatile, but really there are so many blue chips (not FAANG) that have crazy low prices and great P/Es I'd rather DCA into than energy.
we're all lower class- it's an illusion. ETR!, damn I'm hungry!
The thing you're not taking into account is that the bull market has pumped PE ratios across the board. AEP's PE ratio doubled over 10 years. PPL's is up 50% (snipping off the recent anomaly). ETR up 80%. SO up 85% These companies didn't suddenly start growing faster, thereby justifying higher valuations. The market just started paying more for them along with everything else. Don't look at their changes in PEG ratio over 10 years--it's even worse. They haven't had their turn in the barrel, but they will.
📮 Update on [my nuclear risky gamble play](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t6hecb/comment/hzbum1y/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). Alright, aside from the ones mentioned in the original post, I also bought: CCJ Mar11 25c for $0.28 CCJ Mar18 25c for $0.65 ETR Mar18105p for $0.90 (these don't look too good now) UEC Mar18 3p for $0.10 The rest of the orders did not fill, and I'm canceling them. And to avoid carrying all of these over the weekend, I sold **D Mar18 82.5c** for $1.60. So that's **128% profit**. And I might sell one of the CCJ if she can reach 70%.
📮 My nuclear risky gamble play. Alright, so most of you heard the [news yesterday](https://www.npr.org/2022/03/03/1084414241/a-contested-ukrainian-nuclear-plant-is-under-attack-by-russian-forces) about the **Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.** Russian forces showed up, a battle ensued, an area of the plant caught fire, some people believed this was another Chernobyl, but now the fire is out and Russians control the power plant. Now, the first question to consider here is: * Now that the fire is out, **is this a nothingburger or will people still talk about how close the world almost faced nuclear fallout?** It could go both ways. And the market can react to both. Honestly, this play isn't as big as it would've been yesterday, had we been able to buy options. The situation, for all we know, is already under control, right? But here's what I believe can happen: **Ukraine has four nuclear power plants.** 1. Zaporizhzhia in Enerhodar 2. South Ukraine in Yuzhnoukrainsk 3. Rivne in Varash 4. Khmelnytskyi in Netishyn Zaporizhzhia is the biggest, and Russians have already seized it. They also [went after Chernobyl](https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/chernobyl-power-plant-captured-by-russian-forces-ukrainian-official-2022-02-24/) right from the start. **I believe the Russians will attempt to control all four of them.** Think about it. If they control them, they can shut the power and disrupt the Ukrainian resistance. And if they take control of the cities, they ensure the Ukrainians don't turn them off and affect their occupation. And of course, **Ukrainians will want to avoid that.** So there's a probability that we will hear more news about battles going on near/around the other nuclear power plants. This will reinforce the currently subdued fear of nuclear fallout. Leaders will keep bringing the world 'nuclear' into their tweets, speeches, and overall condemnation of the Russians. And the average Joe might start to feel fearful about nuclear power. **So, how do we play this?** I hope there are no similar instances, but I researched the stocks that moved the most after Japan's [Fukushima nuclear disaster](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fukushima_nuclear_disaster). That happened on March 11, 2011. That was a Friday, so I focused on Monday, March 14, 2011, as well as [stock reports from that week](https://www.cnbc.com/2011/03/16/stocks-tumble-ahead-of-close-in-choppy-trade.html). Yes, many of the big moves were about Japan. Rebuilding plays, companies from there, luxury goods that would take a hit, and so on. So I only focused on those directly related to the nuclear disaster. There are several tickers below the market cap, but taking those away, [here are the charts from March 2011](https://imgur.com/a/se7lzVj). Could we expect a similar movement? CCJ, D, DNN, ETR, and UEC on one side. RRC and SWN on the other. The first five were stocks that got affected by the news. They're nuclear-related. The last two were stocks that benefited from this. They're energy, but not nuclear. **Of course, there are several other tickers from those sectors.** They just weren't available back then. But you can still consider them. ⚠️: The ones you would initially buy puts on, have been soaring, and now took a dip. So you must consider there's a potential to buy both puts *and* calls. ⚠️: The ones you would initially buy calls on, have been soaring, too. So you should consider the risk that not only are calls more expensive, but we might be late. I've been buying a lot of tickers and strikes, and still have several orders out there. But so far: UEC Mar18 3.5p for $0.15 D Mar18 82.5c for $0.70 (yes, I'm also playing the other side) SWN Mar11 5.5c for $0.13 SWN Mar11 6c for $0.03 SWN Mar18 5.5c for $0.22 SWN Mar18 6c for $0.08 RRC Mar11 26c for $1.00 I'll update once more orders go through, but I'm basically playing all the tickers. Some of the first five with both puts and calls. Thoughts?

The Royal Canadian Mint, and I'm sure others, will sell exchange traded receipts. The ETR represents 1/100 Troy ounce of gold, which is physically held by the mint, which charges you a small (0.35%/year) storage and security fee. This way you own a certain amount of gold, but don't have the - to me, anyway - stress of being the physical caretaker of that gold. If gold is a safeguard for the complete collapse of the financial and global currency systems this is probably not ideal, but as a hedge against a stock market crash or similar it's probably the route I'm going to go if I ever get around to buying gold. I'm Canadian, so I don't know what the tax implications of this are for anyone else, but to get best of my knowledge it's treated like any other security.
Is anybody playing energy stocks? PCG, ETR, DUK
$ETR.c is dirt cheap right now.. Amazing time to get in
115 ETR calls for sep 17. Cheap and could print
Puts on ETR would likley print as well
You could also short the utility Entergy (ETR) - they have massive operations in the Gulf Coast
Thanks for the reply. FWIW I'm wondering mostly about SO, ED, ETR
Yeah this was exactly my hunch. I could see foresee a(n unlikely) scenario where a high ETR% coupled with very high CapEx and ungodly leverage could produce a weird outcome like that.
Explode? I have * RDS.B (Shell) * XOM (Exon) * OAS (Oasis Petroleum) Also * ET (Energy Transfer) * FANG (Diamond Back Energy) * ETR (Entergy) I'm expecting modest gains as they return to precovid numbers but no "blow up'
Buy ETR: WDL The German Gamestop! Almost 600% in the last 5 days! Lets invest!
It’s all mentioned under the OECD Pillar Two proposal. Taxes will be based on a Multinational Enterprises (MnEs) effective tax rate (ETR) ie total taxes over total profit. So say a group has 4 subsidiaries and one of this subsidiary is in Ireland or Bermuda and the parent company is in US or say France which have implemented these rules. Now the Group will calculate the ETR for each jurisdiction it operates in and where the ETR is less than 15%, the ultimate parent company will be allocated those profits and be taxed to bring the ETR at 15%. This will be done under a rule called Income Inclusion Rule (IIR)
ETR is the Xtera platform. Germany has a weird way to trade stocks, there' the Frankfurt stock exchange, and theETR stock exchange.
What does the stock exchange ETR stand for? Is it for europe or just germany. The one vw trades one. VOW3.

No it's not. Give billions in tax breaks to small businesses and you'd create more jobs. Actually support smaller businesses and you wouldn't think you need to rely on massive corporations to create all the jobs. They aren't just writing off "expansions" to get an ETR like that. Apple also has so much profit offshore. I like apple but the corporate bootlickers here have really been brainwashed into thinking the corporations will move to another country if they have to pay more here lol. It's crazy you think wanting a company to pay at least the minimum tax rate is commie, jfc.
Kinda doesn't really matter because odds are they've also been doing so much extra shit specifically to lower that ETR. Even if their ETR is high in one year, it's probably because it was wildly low in another. It's all a game to them where they shift from place to place. Plus the insane amounts of income they've moved offshore...none of the numbers are accurate and reflect the totals they really should be.
You should include mine as well. I've had BKI, TOC, ETR, and NXS

I'm sticking with $ETR.c ($ETRUF in the US OTC), expecting some major activity. They just hit serious grades of copper, along with insane high silver grades, and high gold grades. Might be sitting on a gold mine (lol). Last time a stock had anything like this it went up at least 3.5x in 2020...
I’ll take ETR if still available. Cool idea
Really good time to jump in on some $ETR.C ($ETRUF on otc). They're hitting high grade silver, copper, and gold in the best mining region in the world: the golden triangle (BC, Canada). Similar stocks in 2020 went up 4x. I'm expecting more updates, very exciting right now!!! https://www.tsxvresearch.com/etruscus-samples-high-grade/

It hit me that gamestop is listed in at least four markets (Germany, Mexico, NYSE, ETR... which I believe is also Germany?) and while they do show similar prices, they do differ apart just a tiny amount. When we moon... **will the international markets also moon at the same price?** And I mean 50k a share, not asking for 1k, 10k
Utilities! Especially if you want to take the bet that they'll be a net benefactor from infrastructure/climate policy (who else will build all the new transmission lines?). Look for regulated/monopoly utilities that operate in a politically friendly atmosphere (this doesn't necessarily mean red state) , low wildfire risk, and planning to replace their coal/gas assets. AEP, DTE, CMS, NI, ETR, EVRG, EXC Warning: Next Era Energy is quite likely overvalued.
